Pep Guardiola is by far the better manager and has always owned Mourinho. Won a La Liga over him in 2011, won a UCL over him in 2011, won a UEFA Super Cup over him in 2013, won 3 Premier Leagues over him in seasons 2017/18 with 100 points, 2018/19, and 2020/21, which is 4 leagues in total, while Mourinho only won 1 over him, which was La Liga in 2011/12 season, that's it, all other leagues Pep has won over Mourinho, which shows that even if Pep himself had stayed at Barcelona, he would have won 2 out of 3 La Ligas over Mourinho, if yet Tito Vilanova was also able to win 1 La Liga over Mourinho in the season 2012/13 drawing Mourinho's 2011/12 record of 100 points. All this while Pep Guardiola has set a sole legacy at Man City by becoming the only coach in history to win Man City a UCL title, and becoming the only coach in history to win 2 Trebles with 2 different clubs.

This is one of the best football documentaries that I've seen on UA-cam. The story was so intriguing, such that I could not take a blink or lose focus, not for a sec. That's how much I enjoyed this one. Watched from the first second to minute 34:05. I just wish I could buy you a drink.
Absolute monster of a video. Comprehensive in scope, extensively researched, objective and unbiased whilst levelly empathetic towards each side. Supremely, the nuanced context you extend the rivalry at the juncture of Mou’s signing is what makes your argument so compelling. Pep’s record+trophies are far, far superior to Mou’s during this time period. Anyone who started watching football this year could prove that. But not many can retell this experience or argue exactly why Mou was so significant (for better or worse, take your pick) unless they lived through the period right before and the one right after. And that is what makes this video such a joy to watch.
I am a huge Barca-fan, but this video was really great to watch, and brings back great - and also not so great - memories of a ridiculous time period in Spanish football. This was truly peak Barca vs peak Real Madrid! 🙌
@@jakedelhinski3849with madrid winning 5 ucl while barca figuring out what to do? 😂😂... Madrid has double digits of ucl which barca can only dream off.. Mourinho stomped pep twice with inter and madrid bro ran away and failed at Bayern just to get bailed by oil money sne still took 7 years 😂😂
@@MetapodUsedHarden9 Doesn't matter Barca has 2 Trebles, something Madrid can only dream of. Plus from the way Real Madrid played their last game against Leipzig, it starting to come to light that Real Madrid days are numbered and playing like that will only make them suffer the same fate they suffered against Man City last season. And funny because Pep would stomp & avenge Mourinho in UCL Semifinals 2011 and won UCL that year, he also won a UEFA Super Cup over Mourinho in 2013, he also stomped Mourinho winning 3 Premier Leagues over him, making it 4 Leagues in total overall if counting the La Liga of 2010/11 that Pep also won over Mourinho, this further debunking the Pep ran away because of Mourinho, when he never ran away from anyone, Pep isn't the type to back down from any opponent, as clearly he only left because of problems with the board and new club fc Barcelona president Sandro Rossell at the time. Also Barcelona the team itself has owned Mourinho by winning 1 UCL over him in 2011, and winning 2 out of 3 La Ligas against him also drawing his 100 points from the previous 2011/12 season in the season 2012/13 under coach Tito Vilanova. And even after 2013 Barcelona wins 2nd Treble under Luis Enrique and Pep Guardiola wins 2nd Treble with Man City, while Mourinho to this day keeps choking it in Europe just like he choked against Sevilla in Europa League Final last sesson and got sacked this season for having Roma play much poorer than they were already playing and now under this Daniele De Rossi guy they seem to be playing much better and like Bayer Leverkusen they look like a potential team to stop Liverpool from winning it all this season. And the do not even bother mentioning Europa Conference League, as that title was bound for Roma to win it, no matter who the coach was, as even a terrible coach like David Moyes won it very easily as well with West Ham United.
@@MetapodUsedHarden9 And please, Pep won silverware at Barca B without money before being promoted to the A team in 2008, a Barcelona B team that is inferior to any A Team, including Porto and Inter, which makes the "oil money" thing fall flat on it's face, also you got teams like PSG with the same oil money and still no UCL, so oil money is now just an overused excuse to replace the "Messi" one. It's a leap calling Mourinho conquered Guardiola. I know blind mourinho fans can't fathom the fact that he was outclased and outmatched . The vs stats show just that. He got sacked as well for that and left in a really bad terms with Real madrid and with Real Madrid players. He was a genius in his own right and he was able to still the idea that Barcelona can be defeated. And that is a great achievement . But we can't be objective can we? If anyone curious and actually want to make their own judgement rather than biases. Search up Guardiola vs mourniho stats . You can segregate by the time they were in spain or overall their career. And Want to know who actually conquered Guardiola ? His name is Gurgen Klopp. You can look up that stat as well. But hey Klopp vs pep doesn't make sensational news or soap opera right? so no utube channel will make a story on that.

Mourinho started the cycle and built the foundations that won Madrid so many CL's and other titles afterwards. He brought back the belief and the ''never give up'' attitude. Who would have thought back than that Madrid would win 5 CLs in the next decade, and Barcelona would win 0 and be broke and ruined. It all started with this guy.
Jose Mourinho is the epitome of "do your f**king job, I don't care how, just do it." The antithesis of "get your s**t together." He instilled a mentality of "you don't have to be perfect, you just need to put in the effort." Why else would he be called the "Special One"?
Won a very weak UCL competition with Porto, which most regard as a fluke. Parked the bus with Inter, but to his credit.. he did win it. Yet he couldn't win the UCL with "the best team in the world". Real, of course. Not Chelsea... or Man United... or Tottenham... Hmm... it really does seem he's actually lucky rather than good. But whatever.
In my opinion Mourinho is the best manager of all time. I used to think that that wasn't an uncommon opinion but I was surprised with how barely anyone else agrees. The way he could adapt to any team even with much worse teams such as Inter or Porto.
There's a whole generation of football fans that only started watching Mourinho when he joined Manchester United, maybe Spurs, maybe even later. A lot of people started watching during the pandemic due to boredom, another set of fans during Qatar WC... And the generation gap too. They didn't get to watch the Porto side or Chelsea side... Let alone this great Real Madrid side. When on the internet, don't take some people seriously, because with their limited knowledge that we can't judge, their opinions will not matter in actuality.
No mattwr how incredibly good jose was and what kind of miracles he pulled off, he cannot adapt. He cannot change his playing style to keep up with the game. Hence he cant get a job at one of the big sides
Inter was not a bad team. When Mourinho went there, they had established a local tyranny, winning 3 Serie A titles in a row. Look at the triplete squad, it was insane
His players did very well and his teams were strong, but "conquered" is a stretch. He had moderate success in terms of trophies, winning one La Liga, one Copa del Rey, and one Supercopa. Didn't win a UCL. Now leverage that with the fact that he had the Galacticos and it's arguably not that impressive (in terms of trophies). Culturally speaking though, he definitely had a huge influence and gave way to help slow down the tiki taka.

He his the current UCL holder with Man city 6. Messi now ply his trade in American league 7. Ramos, carvaljo, ozil, pique, puyol have quit the game
You got it wrong on Ronaldo. You look at him in Al-Nassr, how he wins the games for them, how he lifts his teammates up... I don't know about everyone else, that joined, but that man made it his mission to make Saudi League grow. I think the way he sees it, Al-Nassr gave him a home when everything went wrong. Very wrong and naive to call CR7 greedy. The money he makes now, he earned it.
He literally won just two games against Barca as a Real Madrid manager, 5-0 humiliation, knocked out in the UCL semis without scoring even a single goal, and won just one league title in 3 years. He is great no doubt, but he never conquered Spain and Pep's Barca as a Real Madrid manager.
Wonderful video I especially like the tactic Mourinho used to deal with Busquets. Unpressable player, so don't press him, let him have the ball, and take away his super power. He must have been channeling Cruyff! Cruyff "If the opposition have got a clever player who's very good at getting away from his marker, we always go for the easy option: that no one mark him. If no one is marking him, he won't be able to get away from his marker." I think later in his career this might not have worked, but Busquets hadn't developed his long and inside passing game to the same degree at this age.
@@emmanuelasare2908 Most of those red cards were wrongly given, not only against Madrid but also against Arsenal and Inter in the Champions. Scoring goals vs a 10 man opponent is nothing to be proud of.

Conqured Pep? Jose just won one La liga during the Pep era at Barca. Jose also did not win a UCL with arguably one of the finest Real Madrid team of all time. Pep did not leave Barcelona because of Mourinho. The main reason why Pep left is because he fell out with the Barcelona president (Sandro rosell) and the board at the time. In a nutshell, Sandro rosell wanted Barca to shift from using La Masia youth as the core of the Barca team to making Barca a "galactico" like Real madrid. Basically, Sandro rosell wanted to make Barca become a big spender buying big name players. Pep wanted the opposite. He wanted the core of Barcelona to be La Masia and then buy players when need be. Also, the removal of Johann Cryuff as the honorary Barca president in 2010 by Sandro Rosell did not sit well with Pep.
Mourinho laid the foundation for Madrid to win the CL. Ancelotti himself has said so and I think Ancelotti knows a lot more about what it takes to win trophies at the elite level than you do.

This is one of the best football documentaries that I've seen on UA-cam. The story was so intriguing, such that I could not take a blink or lose focus, not for a sec. That's how much I enjoyed this one. Watched from the first second to minute 34:05. I just wish I could buy you a drink.
This Mourinho team were feared honestly. 100 points in la Liga and wrestling control from Barca wawu
Murinho got owned by tito vilanova next year by 100 points
Well what he did was still amazing though and Tito learnt under Pep so it’s no surprise what he did after he left
You are the first sane Barca fan I have seen in the comments section in a decade!
Yeah but our team Barcelona would still beat Madrid most of the times.
Pep >>> Mourinho
You Pep haters are hilarious with your excuses.
He created the football heritage that stirred Madrid into winning 5 UCLS, GOAT
Yet couldn't win one himself.
@@emmanuelasare2908 yeah.
That heritage is only for Zidane and Ancelotti as they actually won the UCLs.
You Mourinho fanboys are insufferable mutants.
6 already!
Man, I miss those years, it was the peak of football. Time really flies.
I miss the old classico, the high pressure classcio, the fights, the stars and everything.
Mourinho's Madrid counter attacks were mesmerizing and unchallenged, they'd get the ball from the back and within three or four touches it's in! It was scary to play against them in any tournament.
Fantastic video! Quick correction: unlike what many people think, Mourinho did have a playing career, and even scored some goals. It just wasn't a top career by any means and eventually Mourinho gave up on being a player altogether.
Mourinho is a Real Madrid legend. He brought the fighting spirit into the club which lasts to this day
and fingers in the eyes of rival coaches, and parking lot intimidation tactics, and the almost total disintegration of the Spanish national team. What a bunch of nonsense. What has Mourinho won after Real Madrid, when he was no longer under protection of the Spanish media, Florentino and Spanish Refereeing Comitee?
NOTHING, except a UEFA league with Man U.
And Pep?
Everything, including UCL with Man City.
There you have it
@@alxm1271 stfu will ya?
With porto won the ucl with no powerfull money ans players like pep always seek. And yet failed in bayern and barely win 1 ucl with man city.
And mourinho won against the crazy amount of skills in barcelona in 2010 and won the ucl so where the referee protection and spanish shit u talking about???
And to be fair his spirit between 2011-2013 its the key for madrid to still dominate europe till day, so basicly his shadow what stoped ur pep guinuis guardiola from wining the ucl in 2014 madrid kicked his ass when he was in bayern then in 2016 pep got kicked by madrid in semi final and in 2022, and noow in 2024.
Without the mentaly of mourinho back then nothing of this can be real. Modric arrived because of him too and pep cant handle mourinho presence and end up leaving barcelona because of him
Greatest manager ever
@@alxm1271 Made the guy quit and cried off to Bundesliga sugardaddy Buyern LOL
@@NateT3 You clearly don't know the facts, right? Pep left because he was at odds with the infamous Rosell and Bartomeu, the real cancers of FC Barcelona. It had nothing to do with Mourinho. Mourinho was already a has-been at that time, he won nothing then and nothing later, 1 league (stolen) and one Copa del Rey (stolen) and he got kicked out of Madrid. Meanwhile, Pep has continued winning leagues and Cups and even another Champions with City.
So, basically, shut up and learn :D
this is such a good video. the reality show drama stuff and also the tactical analysis both together. i loved how it switched back and forth so it never got boring
Great channel. One of the best at simplifying tactical detail for the layman and giving historical context to football. Nice one fella.
Bro such an entertaining video. I’d love to see you cover more seasons like this especially Ronaldo v Messi
Good to see you flexing your cinematic muscles with this one. One of the better footy docs out there.
I appreciate that!
It's youtube and outrageous take are the only ones that sell.
Guardiloa beat him 5-0, dunked on him vs UCL semi and won UCL. Murinho didnt conquer guardiola ...hes he won few trophies for RM true. But he also had a strong team for it..
Mourinho made Guardiola quit coaching fora year

@gamernextdoor23 pep needs 115 ffp charges and spend over a billion euros to win the ucl
Barcelona didn't win Zero... We won the ucl in 2015.. Stop spitting rubbish
Zidane didn't use any of Mourino's recipes. I don't know where do you get that Mou started anything. He left Spain being completely outclassed.
Mourinho is the underdog story everyone wants to listen to. He fought for what he thought of himself.
He’s nothing but a checkbook fraud
Having Kaka, Ronaldo, Ozil, Ramos, Casilus is underdog?
Jose Mourinho is the epitome of "do your f**king job, I don't care how, just do it."
The antithesis of "get your s**t together."
He instilled a mentality of "you don't have to be perfect, you just need to put in the effort."
Why else would he be called the "Special One"?
Won a very weak UCL competition with Porto, which most regard as a fluke.
Parked the bus with Inter, but to his credit.. he did win it.
Yet he couldn't win the UCL with "the best team in the world". Real, of course. Not Chelsea... or Man United... or Tottenham...

In my opinion Mourinho is the best manager of all time. I used to think that that wasn't an uncommon opinion but I was surprised with how barely anyone else agrees. The way he could adapt to any team even with much worse teams such as Inter or Porto.
he is
There's a whole generation of football fans that only started watching Mourinho when he joined Manchester United, maybe Spurs, maybe even later.
Yall mourinho stans are deluded.
Thanks for taking the time to make this. This was well done.
My pleasure!
This is legit one of the most informative videos I’ve seen, props to u man
10:18 Those were the days! Miss those Mourinho vs Guardiola and Ronaldo vs Messi classicos... The atmosphere was unmatched!
used to be a fair-weather football watcher before this peak classico era. after that I become football fanatic. what a great influence by both teams
Great video as always, couldn't realise when 34 minutes were gone
Thanks!!
This might be the best and most accurate video about Mourinho vs Guardiola in Spain. Congratulations!
4 el classicos in 17 days I remember this vividly, I watched all 4 games, peak football ❤
And Mou got spanked 🤣
Lovely to see a video that recognize his work, usually his work isn’t as recognized as he deserves, for me after Guardiola, Mourinho’s Prime is the second best coach of the history of football

He was at Madrid for 3 years, won every competition available once, while Barca won the treble and dominated the world of football for a decade. Never won the CL with Real, and they won 3 times in a row without Mourinho with the same squad and lost 0-2 to Barca at the Bernabeu in CL SF. 1. Mounrinho languishing in middle tier of Italian league.
2. Benzema & Ronaldo consumed by greed are in Saudi league
3. XAVI following the footstep of pep, is presently the coach of Barcelona.

6. Messi now ply his trade in American league

Remember the days going to school after el classico, as a 10 year old arguing with classmates, I WAS EVEN FIGHTING FOR MOURINHO! ❤

I especially like the tactic Mourinho used to deal with Busquets. Unpressable player, so don't press him, let him have the ball, and take away his super power. He must have been channeling Cruyff!
Cruyff "If the opposition have got a clever player who's very good at getting away from his marker, we always go for the easy option: that no one mark him. If no one is marking him, he won't be able to get away from his marker."
I think later in his career this might not have worked, but Busquets hadn't developed his long and inside passing game to the same degree at this age.
Mourinho def improved Madrid but Barcelona still tormented Madrid, especially Messi during Mourinho's RM tenure

@@zack7438 lol. What a stupid comment. Do you say the same about Pep when he didn't win the CL with Bayern? Or are you just making excuses for Mourinho?
