Thank God everyone got out safe
Net loss of building contents is $375 of Chinese sweatshop junk
That much?
This looks like a complete failure of whatever fire suppresion system they had in place...if any.
Given computerized stock tracking system needed to make a millions square ft distribution center operate effectively, Walmart should be able to say with reasonable certainty what was stored in the area the fire started
my bet, car batteries
Lots of things like propane paint starter fluid turpentine any of these could have been stored there
Hottest prices I've seen yet, Keep em coming.
After working for Walmart for 8 and a half years this is mildly satisfying
Maybe you should've studied harder in school so you could've had a better job...
@@ffjsb Unless you're the owner, getting a better job is a lottery. The vast majority of employers don't hire the best. They hire their buddies.

In this day and age, with modern fire detection and suppression systems, there shouldn't have been a total loss. That is assuming the warehouse had suppression systems. If it did, an investigation of what happened will probably result in new codes and standards.
It did have it and they need to investigate this. I’m a driver for Walmart and this looks very suspicious
@@thunderroad7289 a huge loss like this and the claims that will be paid out, no one wants to be on the hook for it. The fire department investigation is only the start.
Walmart is probably triply insured for this and made a profit off of it.
TURN ON THE WATER ?
Someone probably turned it off-this is why it didn't activate. They could've either had maintenance done on the sprinkler system where they have to shut the water off and forgot to turn it off or someone knew where it was and intentionally did it. Regardless of whether it was intentionally or accidentally turned off, there's a fool proof thing that's supposed to be built into the supression system to remind them to turn it back on. What will happen is when there is not enough pressure in the pipes of the system or its turned off for whatever reason, the fire alarm system will detect this and will start chirping-it won't go off but it will chirp. That's to warn folks that water pressure is low or it's off and to check it out. It probably completely malfunctioned and wasn't caught in time especially if the state didn't have a chance to inspect it yet.
Wrong questions. How about "how" does it start, "why" did the sprinkler system not work & the fire spread instantly with "explosions" as stated?... this is Seattle Warf fishy.
I agree. I would bet this is somehow connected to the QVC fire that happened last December.
Sprinkler System ? What's that ? Remember this is Cheepyskate Walmart. They don't even put in OSHA required truck dock locking mechanisms !
My guess would be a battery blew up that was being charged near the fork lift storage area. A huge cold storage in Madison Wisconsin burned up 25 years ago , not sure how long ago now , because a battery blew up. And melted and burned 10 million pounds of butter
News anchors speak to us like we're slow.
Glad everyone got out safely. But you know there was at least one employee standing in their designated area chanting " The Roof! The Roof! The roof is on fire!"
Was it full of gasoline? Damn! Doesn’t say much for fire sprinklers does it?
Many factors come into play, but a sprinkler isn’t always a guarantee that a fire will completely go out. Fire sometimes has a way of finding its way past sprinklers. If and once that happens, fire spreads fast, especially in a wide open warehouse. And sprinklers will not be very effective against a heavy fire load such as this.
theyre fire supression, not extinguishers. so people can get out and fire fighters can get in.
Hydrogen is the choice by Executives to fuel the forklifts.
Chinese junk burns fast
Probably a lot of lithium batteries in that place... not easy to extinguish.
Lithium batteries. Sprinklers would not have put the initial fire out.
It's awful strange that 25 Walmart distributing Warehouse buildings new brand new or slightly used in the last 7 years have been burnt down to the ground awful strange that this is happening from New York to California no news media is looking into it no investigations no comments or questions about how this happened where this this is happening why it's awful strange that these buildings the fire starts in the ceiling and goes all the way across and burns down within a short time so who's using flares the same flares that you use when your vehicle breaks down on the road and who is using incinerating explosive devices or explosive incinerating bombs in there to cause this to burn so freaking fast 25 buildings in 7 years of Walmart figured that out from New York to California why isn't no one saying anything why isn't no investigations being done awful strange all these big Warehouse distributor buildings are going which puts thousands of people out of work thousands of them so why is this happening you're the ones that have experience of doing that are arsonist and the fire company a lot of questions need to be asked somebody has to answer to it sooner or later and everyone else caught on camera
And where are getting all this information from?
i bet you think the earth is flat to, you sound like a real idiot.
Please, please learn to use a little punctuation next time so we can read it! FYI, the word “punctuation” means periods, commas, and cool stuff like that, which your second grade teacher taught you.
Wow I never thought I would see Walmart like that!! But my mom who worked at Walmart said they make sure there employees make it out of the fire safely unlike the post office the janitors at post office when a fire brakes out the janitors have to go back and make sweep of the place to make sure no one got left behind
First off you are totally wrong about "janitors" and secondly learn how to spell
So far the people responsible for the fire haven't been questioned...but many know who they are.
Extremely suspicious 🤨
Great coverage!
if the place had a sprinkler system, it didnt work!!! wasnt installed right, wrong hazard, designed wrong. the lawyers will figure it out
Must be St. Patricks day. All these ladies are rocking the green lol.
Could be; or the states make "color code" their on-the-air talent.
Very sad situation
And people wonder why there is inflation .
I don't wonder... I've known this was coming for over 10 years. We have leadership who care more about collapsing and re-building our society as they want it than they do about the people who have to survive the collapse.
Plus there was that Amazon warehouse hit by a tornado
@@FluxNomad678 Now a warehouse burning in Italy
Gonna collect a hell of a lot of Insurance munies
Plainfield in? Tx, il, there is alot of plainfields. Indiana. Thnx news Channel.
They can always go work for Amazon and go back on Un-Emplyment after they get fired.
Talk about air quality that damn toxic smoke cloud traveled many miles to the northeast, last I saw it was heading towards Tipton! One would think these types of buildings would have fire walls installed
those toxic compounds will remain in the atmosphere for A LONG TIME.
@@QAlba1074 I'd say they will, I'm an hour away, we were sitting outside, with no warning of what it was, it just looked like a very long dark storm cloud coming in, but when it reached us, that toxic smell filled the air, & by the time we got inside, it had already hurt our throats🤢
It couldn't happen to a nicer company they should have sprinkler systems and place and fire curtains in place
It’s located in Avon.
So I'm guessing I won't be sitting at this Walmart dc for 8 hours waiting to get unloaded
Every warehouse has a sprinkler system and many of these centers have been burning sense this one 10months ago and food production facilities. Something stinks to high heaven!
I wonder if they will ever find out the cause???
Soooooooooooooo..... Does this mean I don't have to come to work tomorrow?
No, you better be there and on time. We still have trailers to unload.
Have to wonder what kind of coverage the sprinkler system had, clearly there was a huge fuel load, but one would think that engineers would use that information when calculating what size/type of sprinkler
system is needed.
I herd that the sprinkler system is so people inside have time to exit not to put out the fire, I don’t know if that’s accurate but if you see the water pressure out of those sprinklers it makes it seem true
@@dougchew5193 it is true. It did what it was designed to do. The fire might have escalated faster too because of the hydrogen system.
Doug and Candice, my understanding is that the sprinklers are to aid in egress, but also to contain the fire and slow its spread. In the case where there is a small enough fire, sprinklers might even extinguish it. That being said, I'm an expert in electrical systems and not fire prevention.
@@jayp7171 You are correct, the head pressure on a sprinkler system will fade fairly rapidly after initial discharge.
Now only if that could happen to Walmart corporation headquarters
they are taking samples of the air, lol. wt-- is that going to do?
tell them what the inventory was.
This is probably the warehouse that ships to Pennsylvania
How do you determine a cause of fire in a 1 million square foot warehouse and with a fire that's been burning for days? My guess is it's caused by a forklift charging station or a robot. self-exploded.
Bad lithium battery inside of a box maybe 😕
Yup. More of that Clean Green Energy ! No carbon produced in this fire !
I’d guess some type of cheap lithium battery 100%. Only takes one defective battery. Lithium batteries can burn underwater and at extreme temperatures almost like thermite.
Those brows...............
Because it's M2F
@@lottiesmusicAngelspussycat What does that mean?
I know, I was waiting for them to start moving!!
It's the Norm now 🤣
How, Where n why did it start?
FRAUDULENT
Well no more blue light specials
How the hell does a modern built building burn like this? Was there no fire surrpresion system?
Fire suppression is just that; suppression. It doesn’t put the fire out it just slows it down
@@javorisscott4288 I spent my life working in aircraft hangers we never had fires like this. just amazing a modern warehouse could burn down like that.
@@Retr0racin My guess is aviation hangers are usually not stocked up to the ceiling with boxes. Most are fairly open, clean and while I know they have flammable/combustible materials and shop supplies, its probably nothing near that of a warehouse. I do a lot of work at UPS and sometimes in a large hub and when you see the shear volume of boxes, one can understand how quick a fire could spread. It could quickly be a large fire before it ever trips the sprinkler system.
But on another note, I think the military uses a bad ass foam system in their hangers filling the place up in no time flat. I don’t know what that system cost to install and maintain but then again when just one plane in there could be worth millions, it’s probably worth it. Might be something large distribution centers like Walmart and Amazon might want to look into if they haven’t already.
It must've been green day at channel 13 WTHR
It burned every last thing inside the warehouse and then extended into the trucks at the docks and got everything in those too.
The site of a future FEMA camp
The fact the whole warehouse was lost makes this suspect.
Someone obviously took a stapler that didn't belong to them......Only a few will get that joke.
Excuse me, but I think you have my stapler.
Funny the reporters are all in green. A warehouse that big goes up in flames its hard to get a hold on it.
No sprinkler? No firewall? If they had sprinkler system and the place was divided into multiple spaces with firewalls in between, things might have been different.
Fire sprinkler system was not updated or verified by an outside contractor..
WTHR stands for "What the hell reporting"? 😄😄 When I saw this I said "What the hell"?
Just an OT: are the newswomen "color coded?" Does another station wear, say, yellow or blue?
I know one of them needed a longer dress.
Was is St. Patrick's Day🤔
It was as Big as I ever seen"""
Those huge building are firetrap tunnels, no fire break walls anywhere. Open dock doors suck in huge air to fuel the fire and make it burn hotter. I'm surprised everyone got out safe and supers didn't tell them to keep working like the Amazon place did with tornados spawning.
They will find out it was set by an employee that got pissed off at the supervisor. What better way to sit home in collect free money.
WTHR What The Hell Rachel!!!
Why weren’t they able to move the trailers? The fire was burning inside for hours before the trailers burnt.
No one with the authority to cause the trailers to be moved understood the situation.
Them knees R ridiculous.
Apparently the sprinkler system didn't work.
1000 employees made it out alive....that means the sprinkler did it's job. Sprinklers are there to help slow a fire and allow time for egress. Putting out massive fueled fires is for the fire dept.
So sad. Glad everyone is ok. Did you notice all the women in that report had on a green dress. Was it St. Patrick's day?
lot of green on the tv set
Sam didn't say this would happen.....
I bet Gretta and AOC are pissed at all that smoke.....
And I wanted to order my explosive tonight
IS IT ALL THE AMMUNITION THEY HAVE BEEN HOARDING FROM US ?
how could that design be approved with no firewalls.?
What a crying shame.
What about the damage to our lungs from all the toxic smoke in the air produced by this man made toxic fire? Possible we all may have lung cancer now. How do we get restitution?
Well it can't be that toxic she right there reporting it so how toxic is it what are they trying to cover up
Something is so strange about this
I have same feeling.
Take off the tinfoil hat...
It was time to burn this one down. They have a new one in McCordsville, IN. It is even bigger. They have been building it for couple years almost... It is big. I find the timing interesting. 🇺🇸
