I reported a coworker to HR for constantly harassing me, insults, demeaning other coworkers as well, and the boss backed her up because they’re tight, and constantly mentioned being fired in relation to any time I missed work due to illness and when my children were sick. All day every day I was mistreated and had to endure these demeaning behaviors. So instead of the employee being punished they transferred me to a location about an hour away that’s near the city and traffic can be sitting there for 2 hours during rush hours. Which in turn causes me to be late or not even be able to pick up my children from aftercare. What can I do about this??? I’ve applied at 30 jobs in the last few weeks. This is very unreasonable! Like why am I being punished to waste my time, gas, wear and tear, having to pay more in childcare. Is this a constructive discharge???
FYI the nasty coworker has been reported twice by me and once by another employee that quit less than a week after the incident because the coworker harassed her even more! Also I tried fighting to not be transferred so far away, but I was told it was too late less than a week had passed. My replacement has been hired and the new person is the harassing coworkers best friend. How friggen convenient! She was definitely up to no good, trying to harass me into quitting! People are so evil!
The owner where I worked contracted COVID , so I didn’t feel comfortable working there.. So I told them I wasn’t coming back, plus my hours where low (12 a week)and no benefits. WASNT no need to return.. I appealed my unemployment..

I qualified after quitting because I was being asked to do work outside of my certifications and I submitted proof of an email exchange with my manager where I asked and confirmed what license was required to do said task (which I did not have) so unemployment granted me my benefits!

I also let my employer know why I was leaving my job (I stated that in my resignation letter to keep for record) I applied once I moved with my new Texas address. They then sent some letter stating what I had said so that they can verity with my employer. Once verified they sent me a Certified Benefits claim for me to fill out to get paid.

Yes. As long as you have enough work history prior to collect unemployment. The state where I live requires 24 months of work history, yours might be less

I’m turning 19 next month. I currently work as a package handler at UPS, it’s a tough job and I’ve been working there over a year, it’s very bad during the summer it got very hot and humid, packages get very busy and frustrating, they pay $22 an hour but that’s only temporary because of how busy it is, they may or may not keep the pay rate. Honestly this job is not making me happy it’s messing up my mental health and physical health, I hurt myself everyday bending my back and bumping into hard and pointy objects and also sometimes have a package fall on my head out of nowhere when I didn’t see it coming, it’s also 5 days a week and it starts at 4:30pm until . Also I’m struggling in school, I just want at least $200 a week until I find a really good part time job paying around 50k a year, that way I don’t have to stress about taking a lot of classes in college knowing I have a good job and that I can take my time getting my degree. Anyways, what do you think of the working conditions I described of UPS? I really really want to quit and I can’t find a chill job with decent pay and good conditions, I see maybe 1 or 2 at most online that are hiring but it’s hard to get the job. And really all I want is just a passive income of at least $200 a week, that’s good enough for me since I don’t spend my money a lot.
At $22 a hour, you are making more than most. Your expectations of how much part time jobs pay are not in sync with reality. The good part is that you are furthering your education and you know that you’re worth more. You need an exit plan. At your age filling a claim of injury short of loosing a limb won’t fly. So, be thankful for the job. Look into getting a Real Estate License and walk away from UPS after you close a few deals. You’ll probably make so much money that you’ll put college on hold as well. But I hope you know the reason it’s $22 an hour is because at UPS we have terrible working conditions especially during summer, at the end of September they’re gonna re evaluate it and see probably take it away, they’re probably gonna change it to around $18 an hour, like supervisors aren’t even getting $22 an hour they get $20. I don’t have a lot of expectations with unemployment, most people get unemployment for a very good reason and I understand that, and I really need more time off to focus more on school and a lot of other personal issues but at the same time I also want a little income. It’s hard to find a chill job too. I’m gonna apply for unemployment, probably not gonna work, but I’ll give it a try.

@@chrisconway9044 Yes,as long as you qualify for unemployment benefits,you can work part time and collect at the same time. They re going to deduct the amount you make on the part time from your benefits,but you can still collect part of it.

The offers at the time that he received were not where we lived at the time. He used job seeker and applied directly to local positions.

So I called the line to talk to someone and maybe file an appeal saying I could work now and I had found someone to watch my two year old and I didn’t think it was fair, but I didn’t follow up with that. I really needed the money for rent and others bills. and that year I was going to get around 450 weekly, because I had made good money working so that was a bummer. I went two months with out getting a call back from jobs i applied at. I applied in ALOT Of places. Again, I was limited to the hours I could work since I was working around my husbands schedule so only a fast food place called me back.

When you say unsafe, does that only mean physically unsafe? Or would that include an environment where being fired was continually threatened?

Honestly this job is not making me happy it’s messing up my mental health and physical health, I hurt myself everyday bending my back and bumping into hard and pointy objects and also sometimes have a package fall on my head out of nowhere when I didn’t see it coming, it’s also 5 days a week and it starts at 4:30pm until . Also I’m struggling in school, I just want at least $200 a week until I find a really good part time job paying around 50k a year, that way I don’t have to stress about taking a lot of classes in college knowing I have a good job and that I can take my time getting my degree. Anyways, what do you think of the working conditions I described of UPS? I really really want to quit and I can’t find a chill job with decent pay and good conditions, I see maybe 1 or 2 at most online that are hiring but it’s hard to get the job. And really all I want is just a passive income of at least $200 a week, that’s good enough for me since I don’t spend my money a lot.
At $22 a hour, you are making more than most. Your expectations of how much part time jobs pay are not in sync with reality. The good part is that you are furthering your education and you know that you’re worth more. You need an exit plan. At your age filling a claim of injury short of loosing a limb won’t fly. So, be thankful for the job. Look into getting a Real Estate License and walk away from UPS after you close a few deals. You’ll probably make so much money that you’ll put college on hold as well. @@rjcubano I know $22 an hour is very good trust me I already got that impression. But I hope you know the reason it’s $22 an hour is because at UPS we have terrible working conditions especially during summer, at the end of September they’re gonna re evaluate it and see probably take it away, they’re probably gonna change it to around $18 an hour, like supervisors aren’t even getting $22 an hour they get $20. I don’t have a lot of expectations with unemployment, most people get unemployment for a very good reason and I understand that, and I really need more time off to focus more on school and a lot of other personal issues but at the same time I also want a little income. It’s hard to find a chill job too. I’m gonna apply for unemployment, probably not gonna work, but I’ll give it a try.

@@DaddyC445 I’m still working there but just desperate to get out, it’s an consistent schedule sometimes, like I’ve been getting lots of days off lately but that’s bc of overstaffing and this happens randomly sometimes, I love it when I get days off of work because I work Monday through Friday at 5pm, but I don’t know how often I’ll be lucky and get the day off from over staffing, and as I said this mentally screws you up working there. I can’t apply for unemployment until I’m actually unemployed which kinda sucks because I wanted to see if Was eligible for unemployment, and if I was then I’d quit. This job is way too hectic and im just finding new jobs rn.

@@chrisconway9044 Yes,as long as you qualify for unemployment benefits,you can work part time and collect at the same time.
They re going to deduct the amount you make on the part time from your benefits,but you can still collect part of it.

I worked in Customer Service for 10 years with the same company. Our department began to work from home due to Covid. During that time my husband was let go and within 3 months he found another job in our state but we had to move. I asked my direct manager if I could retain my position in another City and was told no. I was therefore forced to resigned, would I qualify for unemployment?
no. Your husband didn't have to get a job that required you to move. He made that decision and because of this you don't qualify.
@@sonderevokingbuns He did have to take the job as he had no job. Our family only had my income and my income alone was not enough to support us and our two little ones.
The offers at the time that he received were not where we lived at the time. He used job seeker and applied directly to local positions.

I ended up in the emergency room I’m a security guard they put me in a guard shack with no bathroom and no sink to wash my hands
I got a serious UTI infection and also bacterial infection I asked to be moved back to my old post which had a bathroom and sink my boss said no I had to stay there because they didn’t have anybody else this just happened a couple of days ago I’m still on meds and can’t even go back if I wanted to so I was trying to find out if I don’t go back can I get unemployment

What if I quit my job for child care ? I worked in my last job for 8 months, and I had another job prior to that job where I had worked for 6 months. (1 week gap in between)
So I worked a total of 1.7 months. I did a lot of over time so I made around 35k.
My bf is working full time grave yard and he can’t watch him. And hours don’t match anymore so I had to leave. as all day cares open at 8am to 5pm and couldn’t make it work as we also share a car. So now I’m trying to work around his schedule as one income is not enough for our bills

@@wit.love.e i didn’t agree with the decision that unemployment had agreed on. So I called the line to talk to someone and maybe file an appeal saying I could work now and I had found someone to watch my two year old and I didn’t think it was fair, but I didn’t follow up with that. I really needed the money for rent and others bills. and that year I was going to get around 450 weekly, because I had made good money working so that was a bummer. I went two months with out getting a call back from jobs i applied at. I applied in ALOT Of places. Again, I was limited to the hours I could work since I was working around my husbands schedule so only a fast food place called me back.
can i say i quit because of covid, i didnt feel like they were sanitizing the place as much as they should of. the policy wasnt so strict with those rule.
