- The Statler Brothers - Moments To Remember
The Statler Brothers started their career at a performance at Lyndhurst Methodist Church near their hometown of Staunton. In 1964, they started an eight and a half year run with Johnny Cash as his opening act. This period of their career was memorialized in their song "We Got Paid by Cash." They were featured regularly on Cash's hit show The Johnny Cash Show on ABC. The show ran from 1969-1971. Due to their expanding career the Statlers left Cash's entourage in 1972 to pursue their own careers. They left Cash on good terms.
Since forming, the Statler Brothers have released over 40 albums.
The group disbanded and retired after completing a farewell tour on October 26, 2002.
The finest Country group ever, they never made a poor son recording .
My dad always liked listening to the Statler Brothers. He passed away Oct 29/2015. Thank you for sharing this.
I listen and look back on my life since I started listening to them. I find so much joy I have had. Thank you for your music.
Probably the best group in country music history! Thanks for sharing buddy!
They were the best group of any genre.
As far as I am concerned they never got a song wrong, nothing but perfection
Loved these guys best quartet, Harold had a wonderful bass voice, the blend was amazing Rest In Peace Harold, prayers to the family
this was their final performance concert together...and you can really see it here---how they felt bittersweet knowing it was their last performance of this song. Ever.
The Statler Brothers my all-time favorite country music group got to see them 6 or 7 times in concert in Cape Girardeau Mo in the late 80's and early 90's even got to shake their hands RIP Harold you will be missed.
Another song that was "Statlerized" by the brothers .... first sung by "the four Lads" in the early 50's .. nice tribute to a old and great song
There is more talent on this stage than probably ever existed in country music.
😢R.I.P. HAROLD REID
I’m gaining a new-found appreciation for this group I’ve always “liked”. They’re now giving comfort, joy ,peace & laughs now that I’m old enough to truly appreciate them & the gift they shared. What a blessing!
Thanks To The Statler Brother' For All The Wonderful Songs They Have Given To The True Country Music Fan's. ❤❤❤
I'm glad that tenor got up there on the final line, that is my favorite line since i was a kid, i'm 71 now. Great memories. Another good one is The Four Freshmen's "Graduation Day", ahhhh the '50s.
No one else can sing this like they do,what harmony. I listen to their music all day long now that I'm home all day(retired).
You're crazy, try listening to the Four Lads.
Oh my goodness how I loved the Statler Brothers! Everything they did was first class and I enjoyed them all.
The best vocal group ever. It was sad when lew DeWitt passed away from his illness and now since they are retired from singing I miss them very much.
I wish this show was still on.
The BEST, EVER!
Brought tears to my eyes. Such beautiful harmony.....no others like it! Have always loved the Statlers!!
Excellent version of this great song.....
Four men, four voice blend together as one. Magical moents to remember.
First class all the way it really brings you back 2 senior year. We were so differ from senior classes of today. We lived in wonderful age of innocence and we were happy so happy 2 be graduating but also a little apprehensive about where we were going. No one can bring memories like these guys
Such gentlemen! Class acts...all of them! I met Jimmy and he was the nicest man! Love him to pieces!
Legends. Pure and simple.
this made me cry. so beautiful and I have missed them so much

R.I.P. Harold. :-(
Always amazing!
Simply wonderful. I get emotional every time I hear this song.
I see this so much as the American culture that I love..... The 'time frame' is very much the same for me too. My own culture almost exactly the same as well. No matter who sings this song, I will always have a tear in my eye. Its the story of my young days just as it is for so many millions and millions of others. No matter what corner of the world we live, if we shared these same years, then we all truly understand each other I'm certain. If you listen to this as deeply as I do, there's a smile in your heart as well. I know there is.
There the best singing this song we take life one day at a time make the best memorys possible
