Derust the inside of the case (white vinegar or some automotive style rust remover) then either paste wax the bare steel or mask it off with paper tape and a few very light, quick shots of “rattle can” clear satin finish spray lacquer. Done!
talking about the price, on the Belgian zippo website they did actually lower the price by 200 euro ... im not kidding! used to be 595 euro for high Polish sterling silver , now its priced at 395 euro...

Zippos look really great in sterling silver, but they're just too expensive to carry around. I use a 1941 replica in brass, which I gave a beautiful patina so it wouldn't look too swanky -- and I even keep my eyes glued on that.
Haha yeah I stopped carrying my around but in the next little while I’m gonna be making a few for myself that I will be carrying around

@@grizzled1242 The usual way: Sandpaper, vinegar vapor, salt. The poisonous green parts are water soluable, so they won't survive washing

Tarnishing makes silver much more interesting than gold, which will look the same even in a thousand years. But silver also doesn't change its look as quickly as copper. It takes months and years to build up a patina, and that only happens if it's not constantly used.
Definitely my favorite material out of the three. The only metal I like more than silver is titanium -- and Black Sabbath's first five albums.

Only difference in the bottom stamp is the trademark location.. I have a 2023 I ordered high polished but It looks faintly brushed on the faces

I’m more a fan of the 1935 or 1941 zippo. Are the sterling silver versions of those as good even though there’s no Armor option? I’m a bit undecided between the ‘35 with slashes or a ‘41 high polish for an end game zippo
Well there’s an armor sterling silver. There isn’t a 35 silver. There’s only 41 silver and vintage look silver. And yes they are all fine. Silver is my favourite zippo.

U can get a regular size solid silver for just 100$ from garin on eBay. Pretty good deal. Probably gonna pick one up.

I think the torch insert matches the silver armor perfectly, especially since it's not exactly in the everyday rotation often. I love silver, bit I don't think I'll ever snag one, the price point is just a bit too much for me. Great pieces though bud, that rusty tin Is at least on the inside and unseen.

In the early 90’s I could get a chrome 5$. Now the website sells them for 35$ lol that inflation doesnt add up

Yes I mention that for a specific zippo actually. The older 50’s 60’s zippos pin fall out over time and becomes annoying. So I weld one side and keep it from falling out. No need to do it to any zippo past the 70’s because the pin housing changed

Silver comes with a steel insert yes. Also I put my nickel/silver insert inside it also it looks amazing your gonna like it. My video on my other channel where I talk about the nickel silver insert. I put it in my armor silver zippos in that video if u want to check it out
