This is one of the only breakdowns I've ever seen like this. Even though you'd think a lot of people would have. I would love to see this again in the summer when the actions of these baits will be completely different because of the different water temps. It would be cool if you included a few more too (though you covered a large majority of them) and mentioned in the summer video the change in depth.
Tnx Gabe. A lot of work on the water and at the editing. But worth it. I’m still a McStick fan. To each his own. Would be interesting to try a given bate and different lines size and type. FF. sure helps study the baits. Tnx again. Keep them coming
Great video saves me a lot of time. I can now also peel a couple out of my box on occasion. Now I'll have to test the 110 +1 and +2. Thanks for the video
I actually found that very informative, looks like they operate at the depths they are designed to run in, but it is interesting that the one fish out there found something it liked about the Megabass, I guess even fish can have expensive taste, Haha.
This is extremely helpful! I added a clip for all my treble hook baits after seeing an older video of your and it has made swapping baits a lot easier. Keep up the great content!
Thanks for putting in the work on this video, really show us all a lot here. Like how the fish tracked your 110, that was great footage. Every jerkbait puts out a different sound profile along with it's action and color. So don't be afraid to change baits until the fish tell you the one they want.
This was a really good video. I probably appreciate this video more than some because I’ve never used a jerk bait or used FFS. Very educational. Thanks for the great footage.
Great vid and thanks for the time and effort for doing this. Of course there are more we all could mention that we would also like to see, specifically the deeper divers. Used to be the rated depth on a crank style bait was on 10# mono. Not sure if more recent baits have changed that. I would say all you tested went deeper than I thought. For me a standard billed jerk goes about 4'.
I really enjoyed the vid man. It was very informative and eye opening on what I assumed the depth was on different jerkbaits. I appreciate the content.
I haven't Robert. My guess is the +1 will add 2 ft and the +2 will add another 2. Maybe I'll do some more tests next Winter. Thanks for checking out the video.
Great video man!! I just subscribed because of it. This is a video I’ve wanted to see for a long time. I’d like to see another one with mono and then a chart to show the difference. Keep up the good work.
Great video very informative, would love to see a video of comparison of different jerkbaits. Also if you had to choose from one name brand of jerkbaits which one would it be 🤔🤔🤔
Great video a teaching tool on multiple levels. 👏 keeping it honest and thanks for another look at FFS. That bite was fun to watch glad it happened. I'm with you on the 78 sp dd as a favorite. Have a good one and I hope you found some fish after you dropped us off.
Great video! The lucky strike RC when they first came out was my favorite MB copy. The ones now are not the same at all, they are wider and paint jobs are not very good
Great video, thanks. I would love to see how 10 lb braid affects depth. I fish them on a spinning rod, braid to leader. I started doing that a few years ago and it works for me. I'm under the impression that I cast it farther so it's wet longer and it has more snap with less wrist motion. IMO. I fish them all year or try to anyway. They say it won't sink as far but how much less? Actually in fall, summer and spring the shallower runners seem to get more bites for me and sometimes a soft jerk over 30, 40 ft draws more fish than either? The soft one is only a foot or so deep but they kill it.
Good job Gabe ... In these days where baits are advertised as being specifically for FFS, it was notable that the bait that produced by far, as having the best return, was the "old school" Rogue! ... should we trust advertising?
Sooo you think it’s a coincidence that it came from out of vision to eat it. Lol bet you went and threw that mega bass for the last couple hours huh? Hope it went well
@@TheTinHorseMonty it took one time using it the same way and it was obvious that it stands out compared to the other couple I have used. Pretty crazy cause i was the guy at first like I’m not spending that. Lol
Gabe, is FFS depth reading like normal transducers, meaning that zero is were the bottom of the transducer is? Or is 6 feet really 6 ft from the top of the water? This is great stuff, man.
Not 100% sure Kevin. I think it measures from the transducer just like other transducers. I have it kicked up a little. I think It reads about a foot n a half shallower that my Lowrance Transducer but the LS transducer is about a foot further up the shaft.
Thanks for your time making this video brotha!
Welcome
Thanks for putting in the time Gabe. It is much appreciated.
Welcome Jay.
Great video
Thanks Mike
Awesome video
Thanks Andy.
Good video
Thanks buddy!
Love that hat Gabe!

Thanks Tim
Great analysis. Thanks!!!
Thanks
Very interesting thxs Gabe
Thanks William.
wow, what great content. Thanks for taking the time to make this, exactly the information I was looking for
Appreciate it, glad it was helpful.
Nice work Gabe! Cool video!
Thanks Jake
Dude that freaking hilarious on the mega bass just a experiment 😹
I know. That was unexpected. Had to be the $25 JB!
Great video Gabe, I really appreciate you putting in the time & effort to getting real world information. Thanks.
Welcome Bryan. Thanks for watching.

Good idea on a warm water test. I plan on doing a mono vs fluorocarbon n maybe braid test soon. What other baits would you like to see?
@@TheTinHorseMonty The Jackal maybe? I'm having a hard time thinking of any other big brand jerkbaits. Edit: Definitely the new Bill Lewis Scope Stick
Yo-zuri or duel hardcore minnow flat 110
Provoke DD
13 fishing loco special
Megabass vision 110+1 or the +2
Lucky craft Staysee DD
Thank you Gabe very interesting From Ohio

Ya Dennis it was time consuming but glad you enjoyed it. I'll try to do some more of these types of videos.

Thanks for checking out the video Dustin.
Great video! Thank you
Thanks for checking out the video.
I know this video is all about depth but you just certainly increased sales on both live scope & for sure on the 110..
Possibly. Both good products.
Nice video. VERY helpful for me as I'm fairly new to jerkbaits
Glad you found it helpful buddy.

I think fluorocarbon adds a foot or 2 in depth. I'm going to do a mono test soon. Yup expensive taste!!!!!!
Thanks for this, I've not seen anyone take as much time as you do to help us become better fishermen..!!
Thanks for taking time to support the channel Dick. It'll be spring soon buddy.
Great real life test bro thanks
Welcome Richard.

Thanks. Glad you like the clip It makes changing baits a lot easier.
Not as entertaining as your videos usually are Gabe, but very informative. Lota work went into this video, thanks for taking the time to educate us!
Thanks for checking it out Jimmy
Awesome vid!...…geeking out over here. It was rather ironic the megabass caught a fish. Or maybe I should just say that is was random?
Thanks Jerimiah. I'm not sure how random it was. That fish came out of no where.
THM going myth buster style!! Great video Gabe.
LOL Thanks
What size snap?
What diameter is the Fluorocarbon?
A med VMC and .011

How do u get the compass calibration on the Garmin I couldn't get mine to calibrate
I did it awhile back. Seems like I just followed the manual
This was a really good video. I probably appreciate this video more than some because I’ve never used a jerk bait or used FFS. Very educational. Thanks for the great footage.
Thanks n you are welcome. It's fun to watch fish being fish.
Wow, you put a lot of time and effort into this video, thanks for posting Gabe.
Thanks for watching Jerry.
Did I miss it or did you skip the KVD deep 300?
I accidently deleted the footage. Sorry. It gets down to 11

Thanks. The fluorocarbon definitely aids in depth. I'm going to do a mono/ fluorocarbon comparison.
Dope test! Love these keep the manufacturers honest
Thanks

Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
Great video! People wonder why a lure is $25 lol. Always curious about Jerkbait depths. Thanks FFS! 💪
Thanks. Maybe they are worth $25?
Have you tested the Provoke DD or the Megabass vision 110+1 or +2?
I enjoyed that video! I would like to see more tests like that.
I haven't Robert. My guess is the +1 will add 2 ft and the +2 will add another 2. Maybe I'll do some more tests next Winter. Thanks for checking out the video.
Pretty much all baits running a foot or two deeper than advertised. Is it because the snap is making it nose heavy ?
Yes. I think it’s the nose down presentation n the fluorocarbon line. I’m going to do a test with fluorocarbon vs mono
Great information Gabe , another way to use your live scope. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Bill

Thanks. I plan on doing a comparison JB video. I've been catching a lot of fish on the Berkley Stunna 112 lately.

Megabass should send you some baits! Great demo on these jerk baits. ❤
I agree 100%. LOL I could use a few more.
Great video on the jerk baits what size clips where you using i,m been thinking about trying those what size are you using
Thanks. They are just a medium size clip. I believe VMC

The Rouge lit up like a Christmas tree.
Of course the megabass picks up the fish 😂!
LOL Exactly!!
Sooo you think it’s a coincidence that it came from out of vision to eat it. Lol bet you went and threw that mega bass for the last couple hours huh? Hope it went well
I think the MegaBass has a certain sound to it that draws fish in. I used in a recent tournament to catch some quality fish.
