how do you hydrate a fretboard?
@@snow5772 Well if the fretboard is dry or if the guitar has been sitting around for a while, then you should apply fretboard conditioner to it. Usually done during string changes but not more than twice a year and not for finished fretboards like maple. You should clean your fretboard before hydrating it. Any fretboard conditioner or fretboard oil will work. Most people use 'lemon oil' which is actually mineral oil with a lemon scent as any oil that can rot over time will leave a horrible smell and possibly ruin the fretboard. Just rub some on leave for a few minutes, if you haven't don this in a long time then maybe another coat or two then wipe off all the excess.
