Ok all this high level mysticism, power struggles and whatnot, but what's the end goal of everyone here? I love these series! But in Dune universe where humanity can reach any star system they want, are "resources" this much a of a struggle point? While it was a dull movie, Jupiter Ascending had the best depiction of what would be the ultimate resource in the universe. Time. While every other imaginable material resource is within your reach, humanity would only really strive to live longer!
I think Dune is meant as a prediction of our future based on the reflection of our present. That can be said about a lot of sci-fi but pretty much humans have always been the same. And if we stay the same far in the future then we will likely still be fighting over resources much like we are now.
But the thing about the Dune universe is that the most prized resource of all, spice, is only from one planet. And people need that spice to be able to navigate space, to extend life, and to grant them special abilities.
As far as I understood it's about the end of the universe and if humanity is prepared for what's to come. There seems to be a great danger that Paul sensed because of his visions of the future. He is the first piece of a puzzle falling in place to reach a point where all of humanity is so devoted and united, that they are able to endure what's coming. (trying to not spoil too much here).
@@empyrealambientFrank Herbert was mad at Lynch for showing Paul as the messiah in the 1984 film. This music is really good at evoking the emotion going through Paul's head as he is seeing possible futures.

How so?
