- Join us as we compare Burger MREs made 17years apart. One from 2023, the other from 2006. Mexican Mac & Cheese vs Au Gratin Potatoes, Sweet Tea vs OJ, and Nacho Pretzels & Beef Sticks vs M&M and Cookie among the menu items to be compared. What's better, the old MRE or the new MRE?

Had to eat these for a few weeks after Hurricane Rita hit Beaumont Tx in ‘05. New and my mom didn’t evacuate, thank God for the military personnel that rode through the city to see if anyone needed help. They left us with 3 boxes of MREs. This vid brought back a ton of memories.
Nawwwww for real, that what got me started, thought they only gave Houston those 😅!
I find it funny that technically they aren’t supposed to hand out MREs as humanitarian aid during a disaster like a hurricane but it’s always best thing to get during a crisis.

The apartment complex I lived in had underground power lines, so I ended up without power for almost three weeks. Ate MREs the entire time… That “Mexican Style” macaroni was absolutely terrible, but the cheese spread was awesome.
Triple the toilet paper?! Hopefully they don't expect you will need that after partaking of that meal 😅

I was in basic training in 2010, and I can definitely relate to how weird it was for the drill instructors to talk to you like a normal human at the end of the cycle. Good times. Keep up the great videos!

Ty so much for your service and for the infectious joy you give off when eating a 20 year old burger😂 You remind me so much of my uncle who is a retired Marine..who actually left Canada to enlist as one in the Vietnam War.He raised me with along with my mom as my father passed away before I was born, and is a phenomenal father figure. He is now waging another war with cancer and his sense of humour is really keeping all of us going❤❤ Happy New Year

You look familiar. That's why I subscribed this late. I think you served with my uncle in Vietnam. His name is Gernard Danashek (Jerry). He got out as a Lance corporal. His twin brother and him owned a liquor store in Florham Park New Jersey called Florham Park Liquors before they sold it and retired. He's got a massive settlement for Camp Lejeune. He did try to get me to join the Marines, but I ended up joining the Army Infrantry, in which his friends and him rode me hard for that until I ended up in Afghanistan.
I would like to say you have over 29k views, but only 1.2k thumbs up come on people hit either the thumbs up or down buttons. I truly going to tell you watching your UA-cam videos is like a breath of fresh air in the woods with all the pine trees around me. I thank both you and your son for taking the time on making these videos clips. We know back in my Fathers day in the Korean War, and your time in service that there was no such ideas as Internet or UA-cam.
Ain't that the truth! When Ace told his mother and I (back in 2016) that he was going to start a UA-cam channel, I told my wife that night, "Why is he wasting his time with this?" I've never been so glad to be so wrong about something in my whole life. TFW!

Lost both feet, and with other problems starting, my heart is failing, my blood is failing, and they may need to take more of either one leg or both. I literally just opened up one of these #19 MRE from my case. Everything I have is exactly the same except in the accessory pack I got a packet of both ketchup and mustard. Also instead of the cheesy scalloped potatoes I got a Cherry BB cobler. 2022 inspection date. Love the videos, keep up the good work guys 🍻🍻🍻🍻

That "burger" w/ the bread ration and bacon cheese was my favorite in the 'Stan in '03. Never had a good tortilla in an MRE, EVER.

Pops must of been hungry he was getting right into them burgs😊 I can definitely see how the new meal would be better on this one cuz that tortilla and the new BBQ sauce I'd rather a tortilla over regular bread in most cases anyway and it was cool to see that old year book it's been a little while since we have had any good war stories lol. This guys a real soldier for putting himself through this difficult situation and for that we commend you.
Surprised they dont still put the heating source pack and the Tabasco sauce anymore. When i was in the marines between 03-13, with that same 05’ MRE, they taught us to use those two things in a pinch by putting them in a bottle with some water and throw it at the enemy as a sort of cs gas nade.

The old beef patty was my favorite, once got one with 2 beef pattys in it. And I loved the mexican mac n cheese, also around '08 the WSB was actually 2 slices in one pack, im not sure why they stopped doing that. But such an rounded menu. Literally the MRE bacon cheese burger meal, with good snacks.
I would have enjoyed trying that one when it was brand new, for sure. TFW!

I buy box B for that jalapeño patty. Where did the cobbler go? I am also from Alaska. We have a lot of military operations. They also store well in our garages which are typically around 55 to 65 all year. Mine doubles in the winter as a root cellar for carrots I grow during the summer. I prefer the MCW though - I keep in the truck in case I go flying off the road in the middle of nowhere.
That's a great idea! It's really cool you have so many around you because of the military ops around your area. My brother was stationed in Alaska. He used to go out on ops and then come back, get a 96 hour pass, and head out into the woods again to camp out for fun. TFW,, Elizabeth!
