I was at the range working on my swing today putting these videos together and man you guys are really helping me along. I’ve surpassed my buddies and left them in the dust. I’m currently on the road to breaking 90. I live in Michigan and just started mid summer. (So time is limited) My goal is to break 90 this year I have two weeks left to do it. I shot a 92 last weekend and 94 the weekend before. Im hopeful that this weekend will be it. Thanks for everything and wish me luck fellas.
90 is a great milestone but it will also be a giant reminder of how much further you can still go. Remember, the best thing you can do is really truly build an understanding of the golf swing. This will guide you long into the future as your swing will always have little leaks and your ability to plug them will make all the difference. Good luck.
i would recommend you throw your time frame out the door and enjoy golf as its going to be a slow process, and this way you wont lose motivation and feel like you are stuck, only saying this as i was in the same place as you trying to catch up to my playing partners both in single digits, and felt burnt out and feels like your not making any progress
@@andrewyou5484 I can respect and understand that. But I’m an realist with an obsessive addictive personality if I don’t set goals I’ll loose track and move on to the next thing. I did this with guns an learning to be proficient and safe all with speed. I drilled until I couldn’t anymore. Then wake up and do it again. Now I can draw a pistol and put 3 shots on target at 0 -50 yards in under 2.5 seconds. Being a cpl holder. I can’t afford to make a mistake if someone or myself needs me in an emergency. Long story short I have to or I’ll just stop playing. 😂
I had these goals last year. Now I’m trying to break 80. If u keep playing u will get that easily. My bad rounds are the rounds I was happy with last year. Golf is tough. I feel like I’m good enough to break 80. Yet bad enough to break 100
Grant is bloody good. Checkpoints 1. Hips cleared 2. Right hand lower than left 3. Weight forward 4. Rotate 5. Hit down and through 6. Hands ahead of club - shaft LEAN ( 7. Hit slightly up though when using a hybrid ) Thanks to you both.
I spent 5 minutes doing this drill before my round today, and for the first time, played a whole round with one golf ball. Didn’t lose a single one. This drill, by far, has improved my game the most. 100% more consistent ball striking and more distance. 11/10 would recommend.
Tried this and it’s GREAT. I recommend it more than any other drill. I was really struggling with making good impact consistently with the ball. My first few shots doing this drill were the best shots I’ve hit in my life. Thanks so much, I will definitely be tuning in for more videos to come.
I played golf with my dad today, and it was the 1st time in more than 2 months I had swung a club. We were able to have fun because I remembered some of the tips from this channel. My short game is pathetic but I at least got off the tee box okay today, and some decent iron shots. Thanks guys! I've got the bug again to play more
I’ve watched every single videos on YT how to properly swing a golf club and have not understood or learned much until I started following Good Good Labs! Your video on how to stop slicing has literally change my golf game and it’s night and day difference. I’m now making more consistent ball contact bc of YOU, Grant! If you are offering personal lessons, I would go out my way and fly out to Texas or wherever you are just to have you give me feedback on my swing and help my game. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK GOOD GOOD!
What I love about this series the face on angles. I get it that during your fun matches the camera will record from down the line but these face on shots gives us wannabes a great visual of your body positions throughout the swing.
Love the way you keep it simple unlike these pro teachers who think we all start at 80 golfers. Grant you could be a top teacher making big bucks off rich executives at resorts. I quit golf for 17 years and have only been back on the range for a little over a month. Your videos added 30 yards to a horrible slapping swing with the driver and 15 yards to every iron. I watch Good Good Golf a couple times a week. Hope you guys stay together.
Teaching golf is unbelievably hard and super rewarding! Grant your pops must be so proud! My son and I love what you gentleman are doing for the sport!
I was having issues with leaving my club face open and slicing all my clubs. Watched this video and the slice video with Steve and after like 5 minutes I was hitting my clubs straight as possible and even some with a draw (never done before for me) grant is an incredible teacher its crazy.
LOVE THIS DRILL GRANT! Going to try it at the range. Finally some advice that isnt just ‘rotate’ or ‘move the hips’ as that just leads to going over the top and other issues.
This breakdown of how to impact the ball and the drill offered helped instantly. I can't wait to get out to the range and see how it flies off grass in comparison to the Trackman inside. Would you guys be able to do the same Impact Position breakdown on the Driver? I tried to replicate the drill with the driver and didn't have as much success. Thanks fellas.
You guys should do a video on some workout moves to help hip flexibility/rotation to help with speed and impact. One of the best tips I was given is everything in golf is backwards. Swing down to hit high, swing right to curve left, etc.
I love these….I watch as much as I can from as many as I can to try and find consistency. I need a lot of work but I’m getting there. Also, maybe incorporate words like “forward and lead” instead of assuming everyone is right handed. Just an idea
Thanks for doing these videos they help me so much my game is starting to in prove after 6 years thank you guys keep up the good work. Ps if you are ever in NJ would like to see you guy play.
Love the tips and I can definitely put these to use. I've been more focused on ball striking well consistently than any other part of my game. Feel if I can get that correct impact position with a centered strike I can mold everything else around it. Also now that Garrett mentioned it I see that hiccup every now and again in his finish. Amazed at how much talent it takes to make those shots and still have that hitch. Thanks for what you guys do.
You guys should make a video on the best driving range drills. I am someone who has tons of access to the driving range but barely gets the chance to get on the course. As everyone knows those two are barely related, so you guys should make a video on driving range drills we can do to help translate driving range to the course
I used some of the tips from the chipping instructional video and I have never chipped better. The best path to better scores is to get a par from off the green and prevent those bogeys.
Again very interesting video. Thank you ( merci ). The « address » position is somehow ... confusing ... since our body position is not at all the same as the impact position. But in both cases, the club head is at the same place for the start... Any though on this subject!?
You guys should really fly out a subscriber (starting with me of course) and have them play a round, then give them a few lessons and then play the same course and see their improvement
Can you create a table with LW - Driver in columns and different variables that change by club in the rows? Would be so helpful for a lot of people. For rows, things like ball position, impact position, how down or up you should hit on the ball and anything else you think significantly changes depending on the length and style (iron vs. wood) of your club
I tend to have a problem with the forward shaft lean. I tend to hit the ball high and draw/hook with longer irons and woods as the ball position moves forwards. Matt used to have this problem but seems to have fixed it. Any drills specifically on this issue that you'd recommend?
Ideally, at impact you want less loft than what the club your using actually has. It’s called dynamic loft and the way you lower it is thru forward shaft lean at impact. The low point of your swing arc should be in front of the ball
Yes. Getting your hands forward at impact effectively de-lofts your club. But that's a good thing. It both creates more compression in the ball and promotes a more penetrating ball flight with less spin. This is exactly the kind of drill that might help get it too. You just need to feel where your body needs to be and you can get there. A suggestion I might add is to draw a line on the ground and set up to it like hitting the line would be hitting the ball. Do this drill and swing to hit at or just after the line. It's another drill I saw a couple of years ago that helped me learn to rotate better and not sway. Proper rotation was the only way I found to hit just after that line consistently. On the course, with a ball to hit, it means I'm hitting ball first now better than ever. I'll be adding Grant's drill to the one I've been doing like I suggested myself because I don't get hands forward enough since taking a more neutral grip and tend to get too high a trajectory. At times I kind of like it. I mean I have no trouble clearing trees that way, but, I have lost distance and I want it back. This is the ticket.
The thing that helped me the most , was trying to show people behind me at impact 1.5-2 butt cheeks. If you can’t see a cheek ur not covering the ball properly
My only issue when i rotate to start the swing my arms come out and causes a steep downswing. how do i rotate without coming over the top. when i have more of a lateral move my arms stay more shallow but my strikes are inconsistent.
Mathew Wolff made this drill his golf swing.
The first one?

Fantastic lesson. This drill really helped my swing
Also love the caddy shack music in the background at 6:00 lol
Has anyone became a legend as quick as Grant has????
Really good subject getting into impact nutrition. What a great trail showing how you should look at impact is.
I could watch Grant give lessons all day long. So good at it.
Great one . I can immediately feel the difference
Loved the Christopher Cross in the background! Great vid guys!
This video made a big difference in my game. I feel like by doing this drill i finally understand the importance of the lower body. Thank you!

I have a fun one. Rarely is the golf course flat like the range, so put one foot off the mat or remove one shoe, trains balance through swing.
I read a tip once about trying to feel your left shoulder return to it's starting point at impact.
Another great video. Solid advice throughout impact
Another great lesson chaps! Thanks
Garrett's been pronouncing tour with two syllables for so long, that's dedication
Too-ore lol
These videos have been so helpful….any chance you guys could touch on where to place the ball depending on what type of club you’re hitting?
Great video! I have issues with too much forward shaft lean, especially with my wedges.

very good drill it seams I will give this a try thx

can you guys do a how to pick good clubs i want to get some but dont know what to look for or what height they should be or anything like that

thanks, ive not used shaft lean all my golfing life 10+ years and now my irons arnt floating and im getting an extra 5-10 yards on each club
