  • This was the first round baler I ever owned. Still a good backup machine but not nearly as productive as the 1745 Massey.

    Ben that's cool little baler looks it still does the job well. I'd say it would be worth more in sentimental value also each time you use it prolly make you think about your papa. It's cool to see you out there enjoyin yourself. Know nothin more enjoyin for me than to be doin anything on tractor. Thanks for sharing be safe have fun enjoy ya'lls family time and homestead

    I really like that baler, nice to see it out again! Such an interesting design. Any sense how many squares would “fit” in a soft core bale like that, rather than your Massey’s hard core? Seems like a nice option to have if the weather’s ever iffy and you want to let the bales air out a little.
    Nice video!

    • @khtractors
      @khtractors  11 місяців тому +2

      It runs around 8-10 squares I’d say the Massey would be more in the 17-18 range on a 4x4. Thanks for watching

    I like the New Idea 483 baler, does a decent job. You think like me, if it still works, why try to sell it for a thousand, more or less, hang on to it for a just in case, what if scenario! My first round baler was a 1999 New Holland 654 I bought in 2004. My son and I used it until we bought a new John Deere in 2020, for three times the price. Would have kept it, but they wanted as much to repair it as I paid for it. Nice video, enjoyed watching, have a great weekend!

    Hey Ben, that's an interesting baler. The Ranger would be working to pull that home lol. Especially where you live with all the hills and curves. That is a hilly field that you were baling! It takes an expert operator to bale hay on those side hills. The baler works well. Take care

      It’s the perfect little baler for these situations. The pickup head contours the ground better then the newer one. Thanks for watching

      Mine went out several years ago, actually it was the gears stripped out. Mike had one with a bad motor and I made one out of two. Mom and Dad bought me a spare tie jack that Christmas, it will fit this baler and the 1745 if I ever need it. Thanks for watching

    Ben glad to see the 483, as you know ive got the case branded 484 and like it too cheap to maintain and cheap to buy nowdays. I wonder how much these balers cost new back in the day? Do you still have the monitor with yours and is it working? mine is just feed til i strain the tractor and that is my full monitor lol

    Hello Ben welcome from WNC how many square bales do you get out of your round bales?

    • @khtractors
      @khtractors  11 місяців тому +1

      These have about 8-10 square bales in them. I’ve never rebaled any of the ones from the Massey 1745 baler but it would be several more. Thanks for watching
