    I grew up on a farm, but we didn’t have a bale thrower. We trailed a rack behind with a couple guys to stack bales. More bales per hay rack. Or we dropped the bales on the ground and had to throw them up onto the hay rack. Either way, your thrower is less work, thus more intelligent. Thanks for taking me back to my childhood.

    Heh, I wish I had a square baler that would throw, but when I was young we had this Ford, and it would just drop it off, so I and others would go around and gather them up in a group so we could come by with a pickup and get them up. Nice to see this with just the natural sounds.

    In my teens and early 20's, friend and I would bail hay for 2 farmers. I started out in the barn stacking bails for the 1st year. Second year, earned my way to the wagon stacking it. Year 3, I was driving the tractor! Hard, hot and sweet work but I enjoyed it. Hard to find teens today willing to "work" bailing hay unless they grew up doing it..

    My father would go out while we were doing chores at night and keep bailing. We had 6 wagons each could hold 150 bails. When we were done with morning chores we would start unloading. When 2 were empty he would start bailing again. 6 hours a day at least unloading. Sometimes would unload 2k to 3k a day. Happy bailing. 😆 Don't miss it that much.

    Boy, this brought back memories. We had a IH 986 with the same type cab and vinyl doors and sections to close it up. Dual rears that were off so we could run the chopper. Also NH baler but a smaller version, a 273. Of course that was run with a smaller IH tractor. The fun part was getting older and more experienced. You went from the wagon to the tractor seat after awhile. Farm sold 12 years ago as my dad was retired. Sorta miss it....except for the work!

    Wish we would have had nice modern equipment like this. I sat on the twine box located on the side of the bale chamber of our International 45 baler the whole time my dad baled and when I saw a bale not tied, I would yell and dad would stop and tie the bale in the chamber so we did not waste twine. We could not afford to get the knotters looked at and it tied most bales but we had to save twine so I sat in the dust for years.

    You need Metal Hay Wagons to put more in. And Farmer's are much Picker Now. With the Pink Liquid on the Bailer & Measuring the Moisture.
    I know my family NEVER did that. From the Field to stacked in the Barn. 🇺🇸🐄🌾🚜🏈🧀 (Central Wisconsin)

    Nice video, the new Holland baler is noisy. I liked the old internationals better. It's too bad they don't make parts for them anymore. By brother had a 435, he had to get rid of it because of lack of parts.

    • @PAFarms
      @PAFarms  5 років тому

      Yea I had a 435 at one time, gave me some knotter trouble, but the biggest issue was no thrower. Got tired of going back to pick up bales.

    • @hturbo1007
      @hturbo1007 5 років тому

      PA Farms his had a thrower, the biggest problem was that you couldn't get parts for the knotter.

      I love my 430. I can get every nut and bolt for it yet from IH. Not sure where you tried to get parts, I'll give you my local IH dealer's phone number if you want it. eBay is also a great source I've found.
      But yes, lack of thrower. I'd like to get one someday and a few enclosed wagons.
