Yeah I think it also looks great. The lack of anything more than 90° at the elbows to me is awful. The inability to tilt the head back without having to mod the neck stinks. I’ve held Ahsoka and messed around with it already. The articulation is much better than this one.
Great review, mate. Looks like MAFEX is gradually improving its human head-sculpts. As for the rest of the figure, I feel it looks decent, but you pointed out some important issues. Medicom need to up their game if they want to keep raising prices. I was surprised how many of their figures are still available at AmiAmi, and the owners of another Tokyo toy store told me they're struggling to shift their MAFEX figures.
Thanks. I’ve noticed a lot of older Mafex have disappeared over the past month due to the rise in tourists. Things that say for years suddenly vanished within a few weeks everywhere.
I had a bad feeling about this 2 months before release and canceled my PO. Glad I did. Ill wait for a significant discount comes around on retail before picking this up. And I WILL pick it up, just not for full price.
At least the face looks better than I feared and Mafex are the best at facial accuracy in 1/12 scale. But I think they really need to look at upgrading their articulation points,.which are very dated. Sentinel, SHF, Revoltech are all superior in that area.
The face ended up growing on me quickly. I saw the figure in store and thought it was soft but maybe it was just the lights I was under. The nailed the upper part of the head but the lower head looks nothing like the actress.
I just made my payment to AmiAmi for this one. Somewhat disappointed already. I just don't know what to think about Mafex, who is making these decisions in that place? Just baffling. But then every other new release is a banger, so totally hard to predict.
The articulation on the Star Wars figures always seems to be lacking. I was worried this was gonna suck, so I cancelled my pre-order. For the price, this thing's articulation is worse than the Black Series figure in some areas, like the head, elbows and torso. The head sculpt is great, but that's the only thing I'd really get it for. Easy pass for me.
Is black series headsculpt better but then again it’s $25, Mafex should have better headsculpts but not their strength specially for female figures… I personally think Shf makes the best Star Wars figures mostly atleast
@@KaijuDaddyJapan male mafex figures usually turnout amazing not sure why the female figures always has less accessories and the face sculpt usually a let down… maybe different artists working on male and female figures
It's just the articulation that is dated. The last 3 Mafex Mandalorian figures details, paint and accessories blow away the Hasbro and SHF versions (especially Boba). If you can live with the articulation, they make for superior display pieces.
Agreed. If you find the one pose you like and plan on keep it in that pose for eternity, then it’s great. But if you like multiple poses in different set ups, it’s maddening.
I think this looks great and has acceptable articulation. It’s a bummer you’re disappointed, hope you like the next one more.

It’s not a bad figure. I gave it a 7.5/8 but the things that kept it from scoring higher are so ridiculously obvious that it’s maddening.
@@KaijuDaddyJapan Yeah, that right angle arm hindrance is inexcusable.
Terrible execution
Thanks for the review!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching
It’s new out the box. Did you break in the ab joints? Thats usually the case. Elbow range does suck.
The sculpt prevents the ab crunch
@@KaijuDaddyJapan shame. To be fair, their Mando isn’t much better. I think aesthetics wise, she still looks great and is serviceable.
The figure looks great, head aside. The main issue for me is the articulation (big issue)
@@KaijuDaddyJapan I feel like they struggle with their females. All of them bend barely past 90%.
Yeah there really is an issue with them. I wonder if certain engineers get assigned the females and that explains the lackluster results.
I’m satisfied with the head which I most waited part. Mafex is needed to try body development.
I agree. The lack of range at all in some areas is unacceptable.

The two that dropped this week were pretty disappointing.
Ooph, gonna need to stop preordering Mafex now.
2024 hasn’t been very strong for them so far.
Thanks for the review. Pretty disappointing :(
No worries! Thanks for watching.

Skill issue
No reason for the lack of double elbows and the head restrictions.
Nice !!!
Thanks!
Garbage hindered articulation for no reason. Also the headsculpt looks like a young John Cena. What a huge flop.
The sculpt and the paint/weathering save this figure from being a total waste
Wow. Guess I won't be ordering this one
It’s not a terrible figure but it’s not a great one either

Their last two Star Wars releases had great head sculpts. Not sure what happened here

They hate women!! It’s the ONLY possible answer ;-)
@@KaijuDaddyJapan :) but sadly I’m slowly thinking this might be true after seeing that rogue head sculpt :(
Haha yeah
I swear it’s just their Star Wars figures that aren’t that great lmao. Their DC and Marvel stuff is actually pretty good.
But the head sculpts for Boba Fett and Mandalorian 2.0 were great, the Boba especially. Just cutting corners

@@KaijuDaddyJapanSame with the ESB and ROTJ Boba Fetts. Great movie-like representations, but poor action figures.
Great analogy. But for me, those characters aren’t especially dynamic. They just sort of stand there for me and look badass.
