In his 1973 comeback, he sounded Xlint. One year later he gained 15 lbs, let his hair go grey and didn't sing as well for years. '79-'85 he looked and sounded better than '74-77. He even took voice lessons, got in shape, cutback on cigs for the "New York, New York" time period. Amazing man and beautiful performance at the White House...
"...you land in jail..........I get weary and sick of tryin'..." if I could change anything in my life, it would be to have never smoked. Notice how long Mr. Sinatra held that note... After 48 years of smoking, I lost that ability. and every time I hear old blue eyes sing this, it breaks my heart.
@@ricklopez2314 He temporarily gave in to age. He voice sounded very rough in 74. His “sand” from smoking became pronounced and the differences is sound and looks showed a dramatic change. He could not fit in the ‘70’s then by 1980 he realized his identity...”The Great American Songbook..”...
I chatted with Bill Miller one night after a concert just for a couple of minutes. He was nice amiable and said he liked coming to the UK and London. This was in 1989 at the Docklands Arena.Bill Miller always looked a bit bewildered when you see him conducting or playing for the Boss. From what I have read his relationship with Francis Albert got a little tempestuous at times and there was a period when they did not speak for several years. But both now have left us and the world is poorer for it!
Actually just watched this video all the way through and saw the piano man. That is not Bill Miller(aka Suntan Charlie)That is a younger man Vinnie Falconie perhaps?
Yes just seen it when they switched the lights on at the end,IT IS Bill Miller, a lot younger Bill Miller with his hair still very dark.Sorry for doubting you and opening my big type written trap wrongly.
Thank you for the down load, and he had a standing ovation from the best people around the world, so could he do anything wrong there? But Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger did, Nixon resign and went off the gold standard, and Kissinger brought on the Petrodollar holding a gun to peoples head.
Nobody did this one better than Frank...
Judy Garland sure did and Paul Roberson owned it.

the man
What??....he was supposed to be out breath at 3:14...18!!
He has three lungs
He's just holding the note out and sliding down the scale to a low note. He did it the same way a decade earlier on "The Concert Sinatra" album.
The one.
A socialist song, which was sang in the heart of the capitalist super power.
Stupid cliches
There's a much better version on the TV show

A champion for the black community before it was popular to do so
