- While searching for the best motorcycle navigation solution, an opportunity presented itself from AutoABC, a clearly Chinese company. What they offered was a 5in display featuring Wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay meant for motorcycles. They agreed to send this product to me to test, these are my thoughts.

Update: Screen does not auto-dim, Don't buy if you ride at night!
Is this a rebranded GreenYi? You'll need to connect the dashboard to the headset (i am using packtalk edge) afterwards. I think there's a Bluetooth Emit function in there.
If you want a more premium version of these, there's this brand called Chigee (in Japan, the brand is called Akeeyo), with the model AO-5 lite -- but that's 3x the price of GreenYi
I appreciate the information! This is definitely a Chinese knockoff of something, and in their typical fashion they rebrand things a million times. There is no Bluetooth output on this unit so that is the root of most of my disappointment. I'm glad to hear there are similar products that have usable features on the market, I imagine we'll see more of them in the future
I bought one of those units from autoabc. Funny enough they have your video linked on their products page. Regarding the Audio. There is one setting within this device which says, use phone audio. Meaning the audio will come out of your phone, or if your helmet headset is connected to your phone, then you have audio via your helmet.
I tried that option, but it seems that once your phone makes the WiFi connection, it won't broadcast over Bluetooth anymore. Simply, to work with every device, it needs to have an output Bluetooth connection. Hopefully this will be present in a future iteration
@@4KMotoring okay to bad, maybe different on each phone. Glad it works for me. But I agree, it would be much nicer if the device supports dual bluetooth out of the box :)
@@normaligator I did just review their website and appears they do have a new model that has dual channel Bluetooth to fix this problem
@@4KMotoring that's true, i tested this device also. And you are right, it has perfect dual bluetooth. Plus the rest of the software is much more refined. Has video and music playback via sd-card and more settings in general.
@@4KMotoring What's the new model number?
can this be hooked to my bike's "cigarette lighter" outlet? I already have a Cig. lighter outlet set up. thanks.
It does not have an included adapter for that but can be wired for it pretty easily. Alternatively, you can just splice into the wiring for that cigarette outlet and have a great experience
Any idea how to get the audio to come from the usb port so i can plug it into my aux input on my stereo?
Something like this would be my best guess: amzn.to/48BrYs3
thanks!
There should be an option to BT out from the main screen. At least that's how mine was set up
There was not on the model I received, I reached out to the company and they confirmed it was not an option unfortunately
Just watched your video. I ordered a carplay unit diff. name but basicly the same . I think these things are all set up for iPhones . Did not pair to my motor ycle speakers or my Bluetooth ear buds . Sent it back
While this particular model did not have dual Bluetooth abilities, the few units I've tested all work well with Android.
That’s the consensus we came to on the ADVrider forum. Lots of those devices out there, but none are ready for prime time yet.
So… Fan or liar?
I wouldn't think it's too hard to do right, but apparently we're not there yet.
Fan for sure!
Hey man, a carplay works true your phone, so you connect your phone to the helmet and it works perfectly!!! Just a tip 👍🏼👍🏼
Not anymore, that was disabled on Android 13 I Believe. I used to love that feature, but the new Google maps blends a lot of the same functionality.
I bought that thing 3 months ago, use a iPhone 11 and a Senna…. Works better than my Garmin XT… now a leave my bike en the music keeps playing… i can phone with my helmet on…. So happy with that…..
It is only a remote control/screen for your phone….
You just change the audio source on your phone/Spotify to play in your headset. Seems fine like that. Quality yeah, but it's really cheep, so...
In the settings on the screen you put, audio to phone and good to go….👍🏼
A great idea, why aren't Ducati & others developing their own more premium versions?
Ducati uses the Bosch wifi mirroring unit, which is apparently where the limitations are. Hopefully they've had enough feedback to push for it on the next version
How long was shipping?
Fast, within 5 business days for me
Water proof doesn’t matter to me, I keep sandwich size freezer bags and zip ties in my bike and use them even if it’s water proof. You can see through them and operate through them, so that’s not a problem. What is a problem, no audio output that will connect to the bike sound system or Bluetooth headset. Actually that’s a deal breaker. Wouldn’t use it if it were free.
True, there are work arounds for waterproofing, but I agree about the audio. I'm testing another unit now that seems to fix these issues
Blue tooth to both, no need to go through the display. I just use one for visual guide.
So you think this device is "absolute garbage" only cause of the problem with sound? Thats nuts. There is no device on the market which is nearly perfect. Android auto lacks of good nav apps but for apple no problem. And if you dont use helmet speaker(sena etc) you wont miss the sound.
Unfortunately this is a very competitive market, big omissions like this are big oversights with many battery options out there
7 minutes & 47 seconds of stating the obvious 😢
Unfortunately in order to get these products there's minimum length reviews required. As soon as I can figure out how to add chapter bars I'll put a tldr section to make it quick to jump to the important parts
Compared to your review right ?
