Damn thats pretty expensive my dude. You can get an 01 and put the same blower from 03-04 all you need is the upper and lower intake which most people just take off the whole set-up with intercooler for 1500
Good video for sure. I'm on my second 95' Cobra. Definitely knew everything except the rear brake caliper bracket. Anyone looking at a Cobra that doesn't know anything about them should watch this. Well, anyone selling their "GT/Cobra"s or Fauxbras that they're trying to pass off as real should watch it too. :)
Actually if you check the production line of the 94-98 Cobras the 94 was made with tan interior, saddle leather interior, black cloth and saddle cloth.
tail lights are different also 94-95 only had those taillights and the 5.0 engine well last year they had the 5.0 anyway just few more if anyone would like to know
Those features were specific to the 94-95 SN95 Mustangs as a whole. Those had nothing to do with being a base model or GT or Cobra except for the intake on the engine. 95 was the last SN95 to have a 5.0 engine, and the last year for the horizontal bar tail lights
The only thing I couldn't verify is the difference mentioned at 7:08. At least for the 94-95 Mustang GTs, they had that same black strip around the Alternator.
If someone is ignorant enough to take the bait on a clone, they deserve it. JUST MAKE SURE IT'S VIN CODE "D." Never knew about the rear caliper / mounting bracket difference.
Just bought a 97 cobra, black exterior, black interior, sadly it gets quite hot inside on summer days haha, but I believe another indicator is on 96-98 cobras atleast the vin will have “P47V”
I have a 1995 real cobra red in color Brown interior just like yours what you forgot to mention every fender quarter panel has a sticker on it another way to tell if you have a real cobra also way to tell if anybody's replaced sheet metal or quarter panels from an accident you lose the sticker
You can paint a car. I have a 94 Cobra that came rio red that was painted jet black. But the title will tell you everything you need to know about the Cobra being real. I do have a Cobra that was a car that was stolen at one time so the title numbers had to be replaced by the DMV. But the replacement title does have the original title numbers on it near the new title numbers.
I wouldn't say, "no ones gonna downgrade". someone told me I was stupid for downgrading putting a 98 cobra teksid block into my 03 cobra. when you think about it, how different are the 03-04 motor and the 98 cobra (which the teksid is actually stronger). the reason I did this was my cars burned down in a garage fire and my cobra motor was in the shop luckily getting built. I got it fully forged, lowered the comp. ratio for boost, punched 0.30 over and ported & polished the heads, valve job, springs and the intake was port matched. the issue that made the 03-04 heads flow better without cylinder #7-#8 getting hot was taken care of so the b heads will flow just as the 03-04. so in my case "downgrading" wasn't actually that bad of an idea. I just wish the aftermarket intakes didn't cost $2500+.
Hey good video,I just started watching them,is ur shop in Indiana?from what I see u do great work,& I may try & get some work done.. Anyway good video's keep' em coming.
I have a 1994 cobra. Did you ever experience any dimming are flickering lights in the cluster and the battery gauge Dimming when headlights are on and brake lights are applied even the engine doesn’t sound right goes with the dimming flickering. Especially the fuel pump sound noise goes with the dimming as well. I heard people tell me it was the fuse link but I don’t want to purchase it from American muscle for $50 and still not work. The alternator and the battery are fine
Also, for 96-98 cobras: Look for the huge ass heads on the motor. If it doesn't look crammed into the bay with "32 valve" on the valvecovers, walk away

just wondering. would it be better to get a cobra or do a coyote swap in a gt? I understand the value of a cobra is more but putting that aside which would be better? thank you awesome vid. you really did a good job keep it up
+cavalierz24fool What is your intent with the car? Do you want a collectible, or do you want to drive the car? A genuine Cobra will usually be worth more than any kind of swapped car, but a Coyote swapped sn-95 will be more powerful than any SVT offering made during those years. You will likely spend more swapping a Coyote into a sn-95 than just buying a SVT Cobra, especially a 94-95 Cobra, but with the least powerful Coyote version being 360hp(F-150), the Coyote swap will end up being a faster car. Also, unless you've already done a sn-95/Coyote swap, it will be headache start to finish, and will nickel and dime you to death, so if you aren't REALLY mechanically inclined, then just buy a 96-98 Cobra, slap a Novi-2000 on it, and enjoy. If you really want to know the car, and feel like you've built it yourself, and really want to have a (relatively) unique Mustang, do the Coyote swap. If you're just looking for a car to buy, stash away, then sell for your retirement, buy about five stock sn-95 Cobras now, while they still aren't super collectible...
didn't 94&95 cobras have the mystic color too? did the 94&95s have a Ford racing cam with GT40 heads when they came out too? Just couple things to only ask for the longer run

My 96 cobra has a leather wrapped emergency brake handle. My 95 GT does not. Might be a cobra thing
scaven09 yes it is. Cobra only for leather ebrake
I actually have seen one person swap out all the brakes or at least repaint them.
Dam that is one clean Cobra. Very very nice.
Nice vid. I should be getting my car soon and this will help me out as Cobras and GTs will be high on the board.
Thanks for the video man .. I just traded a $700 96 gt for a 94 cobra d code one of 333 with the rio red black CLOTH interior bro ! If anyway you can help any more red flags of my car I’d thank you
I had that exact intake on my old 95 mustang gt 5.0
Thanks man, going to look at one tomorrow!
Very Clean Cobra ! what Kind of wheels are they ?
Great video. I appreciate you sharing these facts.
I do not see caster camber plates with the suspension drop. Just a comment😘
Thank you for helping out everybody that isn't as well cobra educated as you.
Although i wont use this information because im happy with my white 1995 mustang
great vid, thanks. id really like to know, though-where did you get the tail lights with the amber? ive been trying to get these for mine since i bought the car and cant find them anywhere. thanks!
+Dennis Sbertoli Try Google moron..........
A buddy of mine got dupped into buying a clone. The car was ragged out.I thought to myself "cobra owners would never let their car come to this".
Turns out it had the 2 Valve
That's what we all said lol
@@JohnDoe-sg8to lol you responded to your own comment
didn't cobras also have a upgraded rear end gear ratio? like 3:73's
DFOOSKING nope came with 3.08
cobras came with 3:27s
Hunter Durbin nope 94 and 95 cam with 3.08
308 just had mine switched to 355
@@MrTechsmasher 3.08
just wondering. would it be better to get a cobra or do a coyote swap in a gt?
Great video ! Thanks ! I have a 95 gt.conv.green/beige.
Nice video tko. I own 1995 Cobra "R" and it makes me laugh how many comments I received stating that it is a fake! Keep up the good work.
Awesome! Thanks. You should make a video of a walk around of it!
97MstngCobra wow what colour? how many horse? was it a 5.0? super super rare car a 95 cobra R
Thanks for your interest Ziggy, check out my UA-cam channel. All 1995 Cobra R's were white with a 351 Windsor engine.
97MstngCobra badass. 300 hp 365 lb-ft of torque. Unicorn of a car.
would you consider doing a 96-98 cobra info video similar to this one? I'm sure a lot of people would love it
32 valve 96-01
+gt500supersnake2009 gt500supersnake2009 not what i meant, but thank you.
OutspokenNaysayer opps
didn't 94&95 cobras have the mystic color too? did the 94&95s have a Ford racing cam with GT40 heads when they came out too? Just couple things to only ask for the longer run
The mystic Cobra was 96 and 04
Very good video. I enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing!
sis the 94 cobra say cobra on the back bumper I have a 94 cobra with the vin saying it's a cobra 5.0 and the booster says cobra and also a tag around the battery says cobra but no cobra on the bumper I heard that year never had cobra on the bumper let me know thanks in advance
94 and 95 Cobras came with just Mustang on the rear bumper. You can easily go back and install a 96 or later that does say Cobra on it though.
+somerville99 thanks
That was a very good vid. Nice work. I enjoyed watching that.
I think just looking at the VIN# would be good enough....
U would think...but no...people vin swap alot, specially here in the south
Good video< I totally agree with you about how everyone thinks there car is a Cobra these aren't to bad but the fox body's are brutal if it.s got a V8 they call it a cobra.
My cobra had the horse gril emblem so i switched out to the cobra emblem
I've got a 95 cobra and it has the snake on the grill where you said it only has a pony mine has the snake there and also on my rear bumper it says mustang
they come factory with the pony, but they make the cobra grill replacement. Whoever had it before you must've changed it
Scott Guich I have a 95 Cobra. It has a Snake in the grill, factory. I know it was never changed. Another hidden thing not mentioned is the tag on the radiator core support says "cobra" on it.
What about the tail lights, with the amber turn signals?
my cobra is a 96 laser red with tan interior.... the vin number tells you and when pulled up the vin will read 1996 Mustang Cobra/Shelby.... run the vin number, if it doesn't specify that , it's not a real cobra
Shelby didn't have anything to do with them cars. I have owned two different 97s and I have one currently. I also have an 07 gt500. The Shelby name was on it but not 90s cobras he wasn't working with Ford again till the mid 2000s.
The black color of 1995 Cobra what kind of black is? Mark? Or number of paint? Somebody can help me need repaint the hood thanks
So I'm looking at a rio red 97 cobra with 13k miles and it has full black leather interior. Is it fake? I don't have he VIN right now
Unless it was painted yes. The 97 cobra was Pacific Green
