What i learned today was : I can use a outled to putt electricity in and use the power on the other outleds... Ofcourse after i turn all the switches in my fusebox.... Going to try that somewhere this week with a small backup pack in my house.
You mentioned (@ 11mins) that the built-in voltmeter is inaccurate by about 0.3V but you measured the voltage directly at the battery not at the inverter. So you did not take into account the voltage drop in the feed leads, which can be substantial, and that is probably the reason for the discrepancy, because normally even very cheap voltmeters are surprisingly accurate.
I believe you can plug in a 10x probe and run straight to the meter. Set the meter on 10x probe. Many fancy Oscopes are much lower voltage and other vids say use the 10x probe and change the setting. It does something with the probe signal or something. With the inverter I guarantee that is not a continuous 3000w. It's at best 1500w maybe 3000w peak for a couple seconds or whatever. Plug in a plain old 1500w heater for a good test. Many times low is 1300w and high is 1500w
The transformer isn't needed some claim it changes the wave. Just need the 10x probe available from multiple brands. I just made a vid showing an example search YT for "2uPgP3S5sug" and it will be the first vid, or go to my channel and click on videos. It's currently the latest vid.
thank you for the very informative video. I bought a "pure" sine converter from ali a few years ago and don't really dare to use it because I want to be sure it is pure sine first. I think I am going to buy me a cheap oscilloscope now :)
Found it informative ---- Meanwhile, the 3000W is for the Peak Wattage.. not a running wattage .. The Running rated Watt is 1500W... If you scroll down on the seller page one can see it. I wonder why they like putting the Peak watt as the label. Thanks anyway, enjoyed it. I just ordered a small one, 1000w Peak, 500 Running Watt. for laptops and other small appliances. For us back in Nigeria, we are totally on blackout. Thanks once again.
I think with some better batteries I might be able to show that the inverter could support heavy peak startup loads up to 3000w from devices with motors. My guess is that it wouldn’t support 3000w for much longer than a few seconds.
You sustained 800 watts continuous so that would work for most things you need it for but still does not prove the 3000w peak. At that power the pure sign was starting to show some changes on the oscilloscope but its fine at that power and maybe a little more. I always try to run my inverters or any electronics for that matter at a maximum of half of its rated output to ensure a long life for the electronic parts.
whats the purpose of the doorbell transformer? Couldn't you connect the oscilloscope into an outlet in your garage directly and watch it at 120v instead of 20?
Thanks for the video, I want to know if this will work for me. I have a submersible pump. , single-phase ** **Pump Specifications:** ** - Power: 500W 0.67HP - Current: 3.8A Steady running current - Voltage: 220V - Frequency: 50 Hz - Max Flow: 35 L/min - Speed: 2860 rpm/min - Peak running current - I don't know how much exactly I think it will be 11A The operating time of the pump is 15 minutes per day. 1500/3000W inverter is good ? or inverter 1100/2200w

I keep thinking that live plug end is. Like a snake waiting to attack.
Great Test. Thanks
Haha, yeah it can be super dangerous! I’ve also heard it called “the widow maker” lol
Wow! That's a lot better than i expected. Think i'm going to go for something more reliable tho. Great video!

That was a pretty cool test. Thanks

@@tempviduse The oscilloscopes input was 50v maximum. The transformer was used to prevent damage to it
What about using buck reducer if u use the 24v one? Just curious
How come you were going through the 24v transformer to the meter? Thanks 👍
@@ww321 The oscilloscopes input was 50v maximum. The transformer was used to prevent damage to it
@@crownlounger oh cool . Thanks for replying. I just bought a cheap meter to check wave form, I'll check it max imput voltage.
Thanks for the video,
I want to know if this will work for me.
I have a submersible pump. , single-phase
** **Pump Specifications:** **
- Power: 500W 0.67HP
- Current: 3.8A Steady running current
- Voltage: 220V
- Frequency: 50 Hz
- Max Flow: 35 L/min
- Speed: 2860 rpm/min
- Peak running current - I don't know how much exactly I think it will be 11A
The operating time of the pump is 15 minutes per day.
1500/3000W inverter is good ? or inverter 1100/2200w
Your disconnect cuts power to both poles?
It’s a 2 pole disconnect, and I only have 120v (single phase feed) to the garage.
The disconnect opens both the hot and neutral lines
The voltage difference on the batteries might be just the voltage drop of the leads.
So,you mean this inverter can not use over 800 w. But this inverter mention 1500w. I am so upset
His Battery voltage was low. It can produce 1500watt. But not recommended I guess
Okay ...

I’m located in Canada, so for me it was about $100 CAD plus shipping. Might be different depending on where you’re located.
Thanks for watching.
For the archive: the 3500W model sells around 60-70€ now, shipped to Germany.
