Wow, that was brilliant. Amazing recall on each and very game. Thanks for taking an hour of your time to show it all to us. Was looking for some OST, but I assume it’s in Grant’s collection. Thanks again!
Cool to see your collection. Love also seeing the relative size of game boxes next to each other. Some games I assumed were huge look to be in a smaller box and some are truly huge. Regarding 'Firefly'... that game is so thematic and there's so many different possible end goals, and so many ways to reach the various end goals. It's such a diverse & replayable game. I've found that even people who aren't fans of the series love this game when they are introduced to it. I think it deserved more than a passing "pick up & deliver game" description. It's so much more than that. ;)
I agree with every point you made. But it's also a game you either know all that about it and own it already, or you don't care and are just here for the wargames!
Seeing this brings to mind the 100s of board wargames I had in my teens and early adulthood from all the old companies like Avalon Hill, GDW, and all the monthly magazine games. All gone now more is the pity
Okay don't feel so bad. I have 158 games(and growing) and only 37 or so I believe unplayed. one of those is on the table now. Anzio(AH). I was happy to see that a lot of games that you have I also have so that makes me think better of my choice in games. Great video as always. Will have to skim the vid again cause 2/3 way through I realized I should be writing down some of games to add to my 'other games of interest' list.
This is such a chill video to watch with a cup of coffee in the morning! I've watched it like 3 times in the last few months, ha. When will we get a peek at Grant's collection?
Fighting Formations is great! The system is awesome, it was Chad's latter game after CC. I was shocked that it wasn't more well received as the system seems great to me.
Impressive! Thank you for the walk-through. Dien Bien Phu got skipped over, however. Having read Bernard Fall's Hell in a Very Small Place; that is a very interesting subject.

Thank you for sharing, enjoyable video! How would you compare Red Alert: Space fleet warfare to Star Wars Armada? They both seem to fill a very similar role at a similar price point
Do you know of any good historically themed games? ;) Seriously though, nice collection! I'm always interested in the majority of games you have but never pick them up because I can't get anyone to play them with me anymore. I love 13 Days! No one cares about the theme. Twilight Struggle is amazing. "Wasn't the Cold War ancient history?" Zulus on the Ramparts. Ok, well, that's a solitaire game, I suppose I can't blame anyone for not playing that with me... Thanks again for the video. It's always interesting to see someone's collection. You learn a lot
Oh and OCS is superb too. I put off playing mine for years due to the thick rule book and dense words. But after setting it up and driving myself through the first turn with the rulebook sequence of play (nearly gave up due to analysis paralysis!), it ended up playing exceedingly well. Plays very smoothly and offers the player so many options. It is one of the only systems I have played where you actually feel like a theatre commander.
Great collection! Yeah, ASL full rule book is kind of crazy with 100s of pages but the ASL Starter Kit 1 rule book is tiny at like 12 pages. Play it and make a video about your thoughts! Then what I really want is for your to do a rank/comparison video between all the tactical games you've played cause that'd be super interesting. Compare something like: Combat Commander Europe Last Hundred Yards Lock and Load Tactical Old School Tactical Fields of Fire 1 / 2 ASL Starter Kits
We already made a video of top 5 Tactical Games, it's a couple years old, but once we play a couple more we'll update and do a full ranking, as more have been released and we'll eventually get to Band of Brothers and ASLSK1.
What a collection. I though mine was big (near a hundred games now). But yours is more impressive. More recent too it seems as you don't get many old SPI, AH, VG or GDW games. You've got a very different collection than mine to say the least. For the D-DAy series the best one is definitevely Tarawa. That's a must play. It's easier than Iwo Jima and much more fun than Omaha (once you get out of the beach that one is really boring...not such thing in Tarawa). And...Gee...Civil War from VG...one of the best game ever made on full Civil War.
We only really got into wargaming 5-6 years ago so yes I have a lot more modern stuff compared to people that have been collecting since the AH VG days. Grant has D-Day at Tarawa and liked it a lot, but I've not had the chanace to give it a go.
@@ThePlayersAid Try it. Beg Grant to let you borrowed it. If you love the D-Day series it's really one you must try. I'm collecting games since 1976 and the acquisition of Tobruk from AH. Not a really easy task as I'm living in France and we had limited access to some production.
Out of curiosity what are you using for counter storage in the various games? Surely storing them upright like that results in the counters getting muddled to a degree thus increasing set up times? This video has reminded me that I really need to pick up Target for Tonight along with a couple new titles added to my wishlist. Excellent video.
Depends on the game. I have a bunch of GMT counter trays, but for more involved titles I have an unhealthy amount of baggies to organize my counters so they're never mixed up etc.

How can you possibly find the time to play all these games? Are there many games that you've just played once? How often do you guys get together and play?
We play at least weekly. And where possible try to squeeze in two games when we do. We've been playing for five or so years. So have had a lot of opportunities to do so. And obviously not all of these are played yet.
27:33 - Major scandal! an UNPLAYED Reluctant Enemies. The only acceptable course of action here would have been an immediate cutting short of this video, a phone call to Grant and a playthrough posted up at the earliest possible moment!
Nice game library! Two questions if I may: 1) why haven't you organized games by theme (Antiquity, American Civil War, WW2, sci fi, etc.)? 2) No Axis & Allies, why?...
Organizing by publisher means it’s easier to get uniform box sizes which typically means I can better pack more in. I actually have a copy of Axis and Allies, but it’s not in a box, I just took all the component parts out when I brought it over from the UK over a decade ago, due to space considerations.
Given the complexity of many wargames, if you have so many, how do you get good at playing them? Surely there isn't enough time to get really good at every single game you own? I have maybe 30 wargames tops, around half of those are series games (OCS, Panzer, MBT, you get the idea) and I wouldn't say I was good at playing all of them.
I would never pretend to be good at a lot of these, but I'm not a particularly competative as a player. I would never enter any of the tournaments at WBC, but playing together with people is more about the social aspect and the opportunity to engage with history and explore options and systems. If I win, yay, but mostly I don't and it doesn't bother me in the least.
@@ThePlayersAid Oh I understand, it's just I have started to do deeper dives on games recently and I sold a lot of stuff that I just wasn't playing much. Maybe that's just a process some people go through.
