I got my Typhon 6s V5 on sale for $399. The 2 parts I would want off the TLR, would be the chassis and the body. Other than that the regular version is awesome.
I think the tlr is best rig right now that i own, i keep top front shocker mounts in my bag when i run this. I think the weakening there saves the beautiful mounting. Thank you for video.
@@rynks_rc the shockers on this rig are real nice . I think thats why i like it . If i run it on 3/4s batteries, its coming back home ok. 6s i like that better on short softish grass! - kind regards.
What might help stop that terrible spin-ah-roony is to put 500k in the front diff, 80k center diff, and 50k rear diff. Sounds strange, but it helps. It will corner instead of spin-out in circles.
The pin retainers, black shocks, better steering setup, better chassis and better towers all make the tlr much better and definitely worth imo. I got the roller and it has surpassed my expectations. I use mine as a basher, not on pavement though. The shock standoffs are the same on both blx and tlr
I have taken it to the track and thrown it around and other than it being quite heavy it rips. I recommend it to anyone who would like to give racing a shot and know there going to be a bit harder on there equipment while trying to get the hang of it
My budy got a tlr typhon but the chassis and shock towers were an issue better aluminum but the width of the towers seems to make the towers weaker and the chassis got bent easier then expected and comparing to my blx v5 the chassis seemingly has more rigidity in the rear then the tlr 🤷🏻♂️ id say get the blx if your just bashing and u have 130 extra for other upgrades like aluminum braces and aluminum diff cases if u wanted
@@cd-pu5uv to be honest I was wondering the same thing but all I ever saw him do that was crazy was some pretty long air time with some not so talented landings but didn’t seem worse then anything I had done🤷🏻♂️ as for the chassis I will say he broke his rear bulkhead chassis center support mount and didn’t notice it for a bit I’m guessing that was its main issue with the chassis bend but still Did bend the shock towers n didn’t see any real reason for that 🤷🏻♂️ rebuilt it with aluminum bulk heads and supports, bent the chassis back, and thing has been a beast! That being said no better then the BLX rebuilt tho 😅
I think it’s pretty sharp looking buggy and a comparison of it and the tlr typhon would be great. I think the sensored motor was a good upgrade since the sensorless setup in the tlr tuned is a bit outdated.
The TLR is awesome for sure. It's a tough choice between the standard 6s Typhon and the TLR. I mostly drive offroad and a standard 6s would probably be more applicable for my driving.
It’s super fun on 6s. If you plan to just run 3s however I would recommend the typhon made to run 3s. Due to the added weight and lower kv of the motor in the 6s capable typhon it’s roughly the same speed as the 3s on 4s

It is awesome more than enough
Probably a while back but was it bought online??
@@NanceLvr no I bought it brand new at my local Hobby Shop. They match all the online sales. I actually got it a little over a year ago.
I got that same deal, unreal value. Got the TLR tune later and can't tell a difference at my skill level.
That low i paid 540 for my 6s typhone

You’re right that buggy is like a Swiss Army knife. Want to go fast no problem. Race it no problem. Bash it… within it limits

How do you fit the two 3s inside the tlr typhon without the body popping out
Just stacked them on top of each other. Never really had an issue with the body
What 4s/6s electronics would be approved for track use?
Have to check the roar approved list

I will look into that. It was probably 30 degrees out when I made this so that certainly didn’t help

I’m going to get this out to a dirt offroad track in the coming months and see if it shines better there
I have ran my bulkhead straight into a pole and still haven't bent the TLR chassis. How? Lol.

What do you think of that new Losi 8ight RTR?

@@rynks_rc Hopefully they drop a roller version.

I agree. Unless you need the extra adjustment for some reason the standard version is more than you need
For me the 7075 chassis and servo mount is enough of a reason to get the tlr. I don't race, just bash
@@keldonator I would imaging that it's a dream to drive the TLR. I crash so much that I'd worry about breaking it.
@@RCRoads Is the tlr in the video not* yours?
@@keldonator No not mine. I sure wish I had one.
Geez that thing is nuts on 6s. Just further confirmed I dont need 6s.. 😂 ..the 3s should be plenty for bashing around.

U can get a new 6s for $400 rtr u can’t beat that
Absolutely a great deal
Just buy a TLR kit. Why would you want all the headaches. And when ur done. It’s still not a TLR
True but I didn’t pay tlr price. I think I paid $450 for it brand new. I own tlr kits and I know the headaches they bring as well lol can’t get parts
On road blows! So boring!
There is a dirt offroad track about 1.5 hours out that I do intend to try once they open in spring
Just using your car anywhere is the best part, your crazy.
