Hey guys! Today I tune my car! I wanted to get this tune a while back but lagged on it hard because I wanted to get a few things before I started focusing a little more on performance! The car is STILL slow but hey, anything helps, even if it IS just 20-22 WHP! Plus, it's always fun modding your car in any way & helping companies like RR Racing grow! Huge Thanks to them for hooking it up! Please keep in mind that my -5 degrees camber doesn't really help with traction/gripping LOL. I hope you enjoy the video!

FINALLY!! Long awaited for you to put the tune in it, glad your choosing the supercharger route, tired of hearing guys say the 250 is always slow, well to me 400hp or more is more then enough for daily driving, no need for a race car. Most people want to swap, please supercharge it and inspire me to do the same, There’s a few supercharged is250s out but not much content, you are here to inspire many of us, not just me, supercharging your car could really make us some great content and draw in new viewers just buy the many people in search of answers, match your high quality filming with the supercharger on an is250 and you have a winning combo
Thank you so much! I know I lagged and I’m sorry! I’m settling with SC because everything else is way too much! If it were up to me and I had endless funds, I’d do an RCF engine swap! But SC will get the 250 up to par with a bone stock ISF. It even weighs less than the ISF so if I can match a stock ISF WITH cool ass boosty sounds, COUNT ME IN! I would make endless content on the SC! All the ups and downs and honest opinions!
@@JasonNguyen yea not sure if your familiar with David Tran on the groups but he talks like it was well worth the money, people tell me to swap mine, but when you get into a swap youre well over 7k in deep over your head and in the end youre still going to need upgrades to make the same power with lets say a 1uz or 3uz.
Yep, Caleb! Well said... also, many people don't realize that considerably more HP means also much more weight that has to be hauled around. So there is a fine line of engine weight, HP's and resulting energy output curve.

I have an 2008 IS250 6sp and I just installed the tune on Friday. Simon sent me the tune files within a couple of hours. Simon and Raffi are awesome!!! I like the tune it's not neck snapping performance but, you definitely feel the 22hp on the top end. The getting to 60mph at the top end of 2nd is sweet instead shifting to 3rd. And highway pulls are awesome.

I recently bought 2013 is 250 fsport today and I really loved it since it was a big jump from small engine to this. Really cool and slick car to drive. Totally made me happiest moment in my life.

I did the same thing bro I started working at 15 and saved every penny and I got the Lexus a little before I turned 17. I finance one at a Lexus dealership. Had it for a year and I hate it I just can’t wait to get rid of it. My radio broke and it cost me 2500 to fix and the AC Sensor broke.its just not worth it. It’s really really slow I could barley keep up with my friends. Honestly just save a little more money and get something else

RR racing has a cute little tune but if you want actual performance you should go for a custom tune, as for the backfire, Lamborghinis are non turbo and they backfire 🔥
Lambos are also not slow NA V6s that don’t need to pop! Custom tunes are sketchy unless you’re going full custom forced induction or going to someone extremely reputable! I still want the car to be reliable!

the truth reveals it’s not that I don’t like it it’s just that I don’t recommend buying a universal tune where everyone gets the same thing, a custom tune will almost always give you more performance

Bro you couldn’t have explained it any better 😂. I drive a is 250 too, and I always drive with Trac off and i always be pushing the car so it can push out that one last pop before it starts going crazy and bouncing off the rev limiter. I was thinking about getting this tune too but wasn’t quite sure but you literally do everything that I plan on doing, and watching your videos only make me feel more confident about getting this tune. Keep up the good and hopefully you make it down to San Jose one day 💯🤷🏼♂️

I had my gen2 is350 tuned by D.A.P tuning in Decatur TX, he specializes in JDM, noticeable difference, but be sure to turn off traction control, and definitely definitely look up the peddle dance, it's a huge difference, like doing donuts different, I've only done it once to see if it was for real and I filled the cab with smoke, the truth is even when you turn off traction control with the button it's only like 90% turned off, seriously try this. My is350 became another car bro for real 🤜🤛
That’s dope! I saw a video a while back and tried the dance! It works and TRAC stays off but so does the button when I hold it! However I heard the button doesn’t disable VSC or something. All I know is that it never shifts for me when I hold it down for 5 seconds
@@JasonNguyen when you say it doesn't shift for you are you in motion, TC won't turn off unless you're setting completely still with the brake held down. The dance made mine look like the TC was turned on, but it was quite the opposite.
You need to FBO ur car first before getting the supercharged.... Drove to PA and got my rr racing tuned i soon I installed my FBO.. Rafi tune it installed personally... For my experience I think the tune is worth it.. I race a scat pack and 395 srt from the red light to the next red light and they didn't stand a chance... But that's because is350 full hard to 0 to 60.. But they probably beat me in quarter mile race....
I have everything set! I’ve had some PPE headers sitting in my room for a while and gonna install that as well! Then I’ll be FBO! Once i figure out how I want my sound and if I wanna weld new resonators or something because I know I have to replace secondary cats with hi flows so it may be raspy and idk if I want that! But it’s in the works! SuperchArger won’t be for a while and I want to take my time and fully enjoy the journey!!! That’s so sick, is350s are so quick! Can’t imagine being in a supercharged one!!

I want to give honest reviews and make content with the SC. Not a lot of SC’d IS’ make real content regarding it. It’s like they hide it because they’re ashamed. If I’m disappointed in the kit, I’ll speak my mind and be honest! And it’ll give potential customers who are interested in the kit more insight so they know exactly what they’re getting themselves into before they spend like $7300!
That tune is pretty neat, simply cause it even lets you past 6600 rpm - which was the stock point, right?
It is!! And yes that was the stock limiter! SOMETIMES, it would let me hit 6800/7000 but it was very rare. Now I can always hit 7200!

@@JasonNguyen I just did my RR tune on the ISF. It's definitely a bit more peppy and the gas mileage has gone up a noticeable tick. The PPE headers will be here soon too.

I got the same tune for my car the first day I was like eh don’t feel anything but after driving for about 40-50 miles and the ecu relearned everything the next day I was like whoa it definitely made the car more aggressive and responsive

Sweet ride bro! I have a 2008 Is250 awd auto. Stuff that I have are fsport Intake, lowering springs, lighter wheels 18lbs each, axle-back exhaust. Been riding my IS for years in auto+ect mode and S manual+ect mode. I know how much power and the behavior on response and the shifting points when I drive it on either modes. Today I got my rrtune and easy setup and goty tune files the same day. I drove it on both modes... My results were a huge difference in response and I'm able to redline it!!! It's practically day and night!! If you think just turning on the ect mode would make a difference without the tune.. But you really feel the difference even more with this tune!! When I'm on braking, I tend to downshift slowly and I know the feeling of a jerk when I go down on gears... But with this tune, the jerkiness were almost non existent and able to smooth downshift instantly with no delay👍😁 I can also confirm from what Chris said in his video about how it goes into lower gears when gassing it as you downshift from a steady speed... thats without the tune; the ecu will go lower from your shift than you intend to and then increase it back to your shift. It's like there is a delay. But with this tune, if you downshift as you gas it... It will lock in your shift point as intended and won't go into lower gear as you gas it. Overall this tune is the biggest bang for the buck after some few basic mods! It made my IS250 more livelier. Feels like it wants to go to 100mph easily.

Yeah, I believe there are no tunes at the moment for the is300 RWD which is basically the 200t
My stock 200t does 0-60 in 6.8s so that’s great improvement in your car with rear negative cambers

@@JasonNguyen the turn in response even past 100 mph is unbelievable. To be fair, i do have an ultra racing strut bar with swift springs and factory adjustable dampers. The ride is nice, the drop tasteful and the car bends like no other performance sedan! Definitely 👍 go rr racing all the fucking way!

After you add all the stage two goodies, it comes out to 6300 shipped! But having the tuner tool now, it’ll shave off 400$!

Dropping the 0-60 that many tenths of a second is a big deal. Over half a second reduction is quite a few car lengths. Torque converter and nitrous maybe, but a tune gain like that is worth the money...
Thank you! Stock SHOULD be 7.1 but I have -5 camber so not a lot of grip! So technically it should be better! Hopefully supercharger in the future!!!

I own a 2018 is300 and I think for that model IS the tune is the best, u get the HP that the 350 has since the 300 has the same 3.5L engine just came detuned. Plus u get the extra HP that the tune adds on!

I don't even let my 350 get to 6k rpm, there's no way I'd let it redline and hit the limiter.
You’re supposed to from what I’ve heard. A redline a day keeps the carbon build up away
Nice video. But why do people buy the 250 instead of 350 if you plan on modifying? Price nearly the same and if you finance its a no brainer to go with 350.
Thank you! I couldn’t afford the 350 at the time cause I didn’t have an extra $5k. That’s how more they were going for at the time in the color and trim I wanted. I also had two points on my driving record so insurance was going to be about $600+ for full coverage and higher monthly payments. I didn’t mind getting the 250 because I just wanted it and I knew what I could afford at the time. Plus I was able to mod it the way I wanted to overtime because my payments weren’t so high! So it’s all personal preference. Sure I could’ve waited and saved more but I didn’t have a car for 3 months already & was so sick of relying on people or ubers.

I think it's pretty much just your preference I think the apexi, pedal Commander oh, and sprint booster all do the same thing. I think it's just personal preference just like some people like DeWalt some people like Milwaukee some people like Makita. They all make good tools
I remember somebody telling me after I got the tune that you want to keep it in 4th gear as much as you can and rev between 4000 and 7000 RPMs. We both know how fast that means you have to go so have fun on the freeway watch out for the popo. I did those pulls a lot when I first got the tune and I think it really adjusted to my crazy driving. It definitely throws your head back.

No I don’t. I personally wouldn’t run mforce or any other tune out there but that’s just my personal preference. Not bashing on other companies but I’ve just heard some scary stories😅

I have a 2007 is350 with the CF intake and tune. Only a 10hp gain with mid torque but it does help in roll races. I beat my cousins 08 is350 by 1-2 car lengths in multiple races.

Hi Jason! Props to you and your channel! I don't hear I hear any IS 250 owner talking about "how slow the car is", more than you!

You are focusing so much on aesthetics and sound of your car, but you neglect its capabilities. I also don't see you utilizing the Sports mode, which gives you greater control over your shifting. I learned driving stick in Germany and I welcome the sports mode.

Sure, the shifting pattern is differently, but if you would start to learn how to use it, I think you'll be much less complaining about the speed then.

Furthermore..., I suggest that you join the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America, I am a New York State chapter member) and do some Autocross (SOLO) and later some track work. In the beginning, you will have very helpful instructors that will teach you how to drive the car as a performance driver, which will show you how much you can get out of your car, with what you have.

You WILL get a whole different appreciation of your not-so-slow car!
Performance driving has to be learned! There are some car shows on Netflix and Amazon Prime, where you find those builders, with their sleeper and tuner cars, who race against cocky supercar drivers. Too many times those supercar drivers think because they've paid a Million bucks for their car, they know how to drive, until they stall out, lose track and lose, because they DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE!
Performance driving is the next level!
I really appreciate that brotha! I’m only focusing on those aspects and neglecting power because this car is NOT meant to be fast in any way. However, the car definitely has some potential which is why I plan on supercharging it in the future and improving from there! This block can withstand up to 500 HP from what I’ve heard! So maybe someday! As for driving in sport mode, I drive in sport mode everyday as well as in this video! There is never a day where I ever drive in normal mode! So I’m not complaining about speed or how slow it is because of that. I knew what I got myself into when I first bought it! It’s 204 hp which is a little slower than my last bmw which was 215 hp! So anything around 200 hp is my area of expertise and I know how lose they are, which again, is not a bad thing as I knew that from the start! This car also doesn’t have torque which is also why is can feel pretty sluggish but the tune definitely wakes it up to some degree! Thank you again for watching and giving me feedback!!!
