The 9EEE width is appreciated. I have 9.5EE in the Ink Cheaha from Truman boots, and they are not quite wide enough. They are very tough for me to get my foot in. Once inside, it is acceptable and I hope will get better over time.
I had routinely been visiting the Grant Stone site over the past year. Their exotic skins are what kept me checking back. I saw these boots the first of this year at
Absolutely gorgeous. I couldn't resist the temptation when I first saw them. They're simple and elegant with a creative and daring design. I'm a captoe kind of guy but when I tried these boots I was like OMG I never tried any boot that felt so comfortable! I'm a huge fan of the Leo last now and thank you for introducing us to this amazing company. Their Quality Control is top notch!! You know exactly what you're getting. Their service is pure class. I can finally understand why you have Wyatt's photo in your studio. Hats off to Grant Stone.
I have several pairs of ostrich boots from Lu-casey and Ta-covas...that cracked me up how you said those! Lucchese has been building boots by hand for over 100 years and they are spectacular boots! Tacovas has just celebrated their 6th year in business and are making great boots out of Leon Mexico. Outstanding boots for the price! I was notified last week about these GS's and they look great! Ostrich is my favorite boot leather, and wallet material as well! Thanks Brother!!
I unboxed my first pair of quality boots yesterday (Grant Stone Brass Crimson CXL Boots). I was so impressed by the fit and comfort, that I promptly ordered a pair of their Limited Release Ostrich Diesel Boots in this same beautiful Cognac colorway, before they are extinct. 🙂 I am excited to receive them and hope that Leo Last is kind to my feet, too! Thank you for making this video.
That was a very good review- I like how you always challenge us with something unexpected. Ostrich leather actually seems really cool now, to me, knowing it’s beneficial properties. Would be interested to see these all beaten and aged. I think perhaps the quill bumps wouldn’t feel so assaulting once there’s some dirt and scuffs and crocking and creases etc. As always, this was worth the watch 🙏🏽🙌🏽 The Angel cameo was funny, in a good way 😆 Good to see him. And of course, the Randy picture was beyond words 🙏🏽👏🏽
Definitely going to be pulling the trigger on these bad boys. I agree they are the perfect colour for the leather. I am a huge fan of GS and looking forward to having these in my arsenal! Thank you Dale, another fantastic job schooling us on boots! Keep it up! Cheers!
Yes, I've been keeping an eye and closely mulling over this leather from Grant Stone. In fact, it's going to be my first pair. I've an ostrich leather belt that l find as most unique in pliability, softness, texture, feel. No other leather like it. Nice video
I have (4) pairs of GS with (4) more on the way. These are my first entry into Grant Stone and overall, my favorite. They are awesome. I've also developed a weird pattern with my Deisels and they are all exotic leathers. Antelope, ostrich, kangaroo, bison.
I just rec’d a pair 2 weeks ago n I love them They go great with just about any color of khakis which I have, along with jeans I wanted a pair of boots I could wear during the summer in Houston I was really not into Cowboy boots but these are a great pair of boots for me.
I knew as soon as I received the GS notification that you would pick this up. By the way - there is a pair of natural veg tan Ottawas (yesterday's drop) that has your name inked on it. Look forward to that review 😎
I follow a lot of shoe reviewers; stridwise, bootspy, rose anvil, bootlosophy, Carl M. etc,. but you're crazy asf with how many pairs of shoe/boots you own. You have more boots than all those other reviewers have put together. The only boot you don't really have is Thursday's but you have tons of Truman, Alden, Grant Stone, Parkhurst, or any boot manufacture that I can think of. You are nuts. I think you've spent at least $500k+ on boots which is crazy. I would believe you if you said you have 500k worth of boots. lol.
Thanks for the information! Also a beautiful boot and I love how you said it will patina. I'm a huge fan of veg tan. Thanks for your boot coverage. I have yet to purchase a pair of boots from Grant Stone but I will contact them now and try to get my sizing. On a side note would you be better to treat this like Chrome Excel/normal veg tan or Calfskin? I am surprised to see the shine on it given that it is supposed to be oil based. I mean Saphir Nappa Balm is often used for exotics. Otherwise I have both Saphir Medaille D'or Oiled Leather, Pommadier Cream Polish, Pate Deluxe, and Mirror Gloss all in neutral. In my experience with veg tan the oiled leather or nappa balm tends to change color the least. Not sure with the Ostritch though or I wouldn't trouble the comment section.
@@DalesLeatherworks Thanks for the heads-up. Yeah it doesn't seem like they'll need conditioning for quite some time. I just like to keep supplies on hand for when it's needed. That said I'd love an update on your opinion once you have to condition them for the first time.
The shine on these is insane. Do you think that's simply conditioning done at the factory or something specifically to do with the ostrich leather? Not sure I could rock em, but they are pretty badass looking.
I’ve been staring at these on their website for months now. So tempted to make the purchase. I know some guys are oddly weirded out by the bumps. That’s what draws me to them. I don’t own a pair of Grant Stones. Just wondering how you size them…half size down or true to size?
Didn’t GS release a boot in Kangaroo leather? Curious if you’ve tried that. In my younger days playing soccer, cleats made from kangaroo leather were very desirable as they were said to be softer, lighter, but also more durable than cow leather.
It really is amazing stuff! I had the old school Adidas Predators in Kangaroo and they were tanks. Took an insane beating and just got better. The bottoms eventually disinterested after sitting in a Florida attic for 15 years, but the leather was still kicking! It's so much stronger than equal thickness cow Leather so you can cut it thinner and it still has higher strength than much thicker cowhide. For soccer it was awesome because you could feel the ball so much better.
@@Ikari777 Nice I had a couple pairs of white Kelme’s in kangaroo the last couple years of HS. Don’t remember the model name but they were indeed durable. I don’t remember well enough how they compared to cow leather in weight or any other aspect. Definitely comfy and durable.
What are the boots in the top left behind you? Just a stab in the dark that you might have time to read random connects or someone knows the answer? Thanks
whats better for all season ostrich or kangaroo. ik water will leave spots on ostrich and kangaroo is dense so it takes longer to dry but i want to know which one is more resistant to cracking.
ask me this question in about 5 years and i might have an answer!! i suspect ostrich and kangaroo are basically equals when it comes to softness and durabilty
They didn't move me on the GS website photos but seeing them here, three different panels/textures on one boot, I'll pass as well. The bumps just creep me out.
They're made in China? LOL. Went to purchase them and then saw that on the description. $500 for Chinese made shoes? LOL. Lucchese, American made ostrich boots are less money than that, and they're made in Texas, where the cost of manufacturing is around 22x higher. Not to mention all the other US made boots that cost around the same price. How can they convince people to buy $400-500 boots made in China? That's like buying a Chinese made Ferrari for $325k instead of an actual Ferrari for $400k, and thinking it's a good deal. 🤡
i respectfully have to contest a lot of this. So I just got these boots a week ago and I absolutely love them. Already my favorite boots.
The facial expression at 4:38 when you say 'And this is the reason for a luxury life' is priceless. Like 'Something doesn't seem right here.' 😅
glad you caught that!! didn't make sense to me either hahahaha
