In between death and oblivion is an interval of your head in the lap of Karen O stroking your hair singing lullabies and then textured melodic humming towards the end fading into a void.
@@JoseGranny I sensed as much, then. I listen to this again after 6 years thanks to you . I don't feel as intensely for this now , it's endearing and kindles a friendly nostalgia and not much beyond . A disenchantment with the central theme now eclipses the conviction i commented with when 19. if I know anything it is that "i don't know'. but i can say Music has been a constant and a solace amidst the violence of time., Peace
"Oh my only I like the man I love the beast, he knows me..." hello Karen, it is wonderful to discover your solo work.. I'm a fan of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs but it's great to listen to your more stripped down softer stuff too. Thankyou x x x x x
I love this album. I just read that these songs were written in private and never meant to be released. The minimalism and choice of vocal effects on this album makes it feel like so intimate and raw. It doesn't feel theatrical or grand. It feels lowkey and authentic. Like something she wrote in a coffee shop, or a park bench, or in her bedroom.
All songs written and composed by Karen O, except where noted: 1. "Ooo" 2. "Rapt" 3. "Visits" 4. "Beast" 5. "Comes the Night" 6. "NYC Baby" 7. "Other Side" 8. "So Far" 9. "Day Go By" 10. "Body" 11. "King" 12. "Indian Summer" (The Doors) 13. "Sunset Sun" 14. "Native Korean Rock" 15. "Singalong" (Karen O, Jack Lawrence, Dean Fertita)

Thanks for the upload. Karen O has a wonderful voice.
My partner made a mix cd with songs from this album on it when we first started getting serious :) . Love it
I hope whoever the GENIUS who posted this is happy.
If you have the vinyl of this album, I recommend playing it at a slower speed and it is the best thing ever!
You can do that with UA-cam btw, Just saying for those that want to try it, but not owning a vinyl player.
Its not quite the same effect... but it works, record player is better
Ugh. But, happy you found something you like :-)
I'm convinced KO could sing the telephone book and I would weep 💚

+PrettyLittleLiars Fan jajajajaj music for love !
Don't agree with you disregarding an entire genre of music as not being "real music" (whatever that means) but I agree this album is fantastic!
