This sounds like resolution music. Like the type of music you play at the end of the movie when differences have been resolved and the problems have been overcome and the main character is stating an "And now..." type statement.
At my school a student was hit by a car and she was in band at the time they were playing this piece and every year we play this song to commemorate her and there is nothing more powerful then the end of this song when you’re just imagining that day and the following events it’s truly beautiful
Marc Scattolin that’s what we are doing in our band. We are playing at this tempo and being conducted in cut time. It’s kind of confusing but really fun
I've played this song two different years on two different instruments and it just makes me tear up now. It's such a beautiful piece but it's reminding me that I'm not going to be in highschool forever. The years are passing so fast and I'm not sure I'm ready to be done.
My daughter's Middle School played this at their winter concert. Cait Nishimura is a great composer and this is a lovely rendition. If you'd like to see our performance it is on our UA-cam channel.
I really like this song. Me personally I would’ve preferred a softer mallet on the xylophone cause in my opinion it’s a little loud and harsh. But a really great performance.
Every recording I have heard as had hard mallets like in this one but if I were directing it, I would probably move it to marimba to soften it up to match the rest of the pieces tone
Uggh the band I'm playing in is playing this song but we can't get the tempo right bcs A our band teacher sucks, and B no one knows how fast we are supposed to go.

Couldn’t have said it better Sir Williams

Played this for an honor band, it was one of my favorite pieces we did! Honestly just very rewarding to play
let's give the trumpets a round of applause for hitting all the high Fs and Gs! that is so difficult and they aced it!

I played this song last year and had the trumpet solo, didn't think I did too well but hearing this solo sound exactly like mine made me very happy :)
I’m so happy to say that I’ll be playing this song this year for honor band! ❤️
I’m also gonna play this for CCSD honor band

I just played this last night in our band concert and we played it outside as the sun set. It was awesome!
Played this 2 years ago in my junior high honour band and it's probably one of my favourite band songs to this day

The xylophone part was very fun to sight read when I got it

For ratings we’re playing chasing sunlight and night on fire

ay i play bari in this piece
what time signature is this in?
My band plays it in 4/4, but I've seen some people in these comments talking about cut time
4/4
The song is itself is in 4/4 but because of the tempo some conductors may conduct it in 2 instead of 4!
It’s in 4/4 but he conducting in cut time
I'm playing this song in music..... It does NOT sound like this
Yep Ik what u mean..
I am to but we play a lil slower sounds a little better
If I play it at 0.75 speed, does it sound like what you're playing or is that too slow?
@@nicholaswilliams6475 0.75 I can hear the brass buzzing
This to me sounds kinda like someone like you from Adele
⚠️ THIS ORCHESTRA IS POORLY REHEARSED. OUR CONDUCTOR WOULD OF HAD A FIT IF WE HAD PLAYED WITH SUCH POOR TIMING.
Boring piece
