I think its the opposite. I think I've increased my hookup percentage on the bites. I would guess I hook into over 90% of the bigger fish that bite, landing them is another thing, but not related to the hook.
There definitely is. I was out last week and we tore them up. I got a few more striper videos from last week coming up on my channel, btw. The fish are making their way back to the ocean so if you fish the sac river, they will be spawned out(skinny).
@@MartinezTryhard I've been fishing West Sacramento as recently as last week and catching them so the fish are on their way down to the Freeport area for sure. It is all about timing, you gotta be there when they are around in order to catch them, but as you know it is difficult to predict when that will be. But if you plan to head out to Freeport this weekend, look for deeper waters to increase your chances of getting keepers.
@@calloftheoutdoors8941 thank you , you been such help. I’m new to fishing. But I had one more thing. What kind fish are in verona in sac and feather river around June July
Always A-1 video production.. I finally made it out there in that area but I got a few shakers and pike minnow…. But it was good to get out there… and the shad bite was hot too 🎣 tight lines
Hey Bob! I was using pileworms on these trips, but I have caught them on just about everything including sardines and chicken liver. For rigging, I use the fish finder rig.
@@Bobdogg21 I'm usually out there at sunrise and I fish for a few hours afterwards only. MOst of the time when there are fish in the area, I'll be done around 8-9am.

Striper is calling. I love morning fishing. Nice catch.
I hear ya, that is why I gotta go out there for striper before I start focusing on shad fishing.
Do you lose a lots of fish, fishing that way without setting the hook.

What bait are you using, sir? I’m planning to go to that location.
I was using pile worms here. Bloodworms would work well, but they are a little too expensive.
@@calloftheoutdoors8941 Thanks If you don't mind me asking Where's the location that you guys are fishing
@@z9776 This spot aint no secret. Its in West Sacramento so it is across from miller park and a little north. Good luck!
