Excellent video !! thank you very very very much! I just started getting into this carburetor and I figured something wasn't right, and lo and behold there was your video! You taking your time you didn't speed through things or gloss over facts no matter how simple they may have been, and that made this the perfect video! Better than most other videos on UA-cam, we're guys assume that their viewers no certain techniques or what may appear simple to them as they gloss over it by stopping the video and picking up somewhere else. That usually leaves me with my jaw hanging open screaming, that's the part I needed to know! Thank you very much!
Great video ..Real mechanic, no gloves.. Just a tip ..When you screw in the main jet, tighten it, then loosen it..Do this a few times and it will help to seat it better..
The best video on these carbs that I’ve seen. I like how you lay it all out in “country folk” language so us “hillbillies” can understand you. 😂 A great video that shows how to do it right !!!!
Now we need a video for properly adjusting the idle speed, idle mix, and the jet mixture screws... please!? And thank you if you do! You will have earned another subscriber!
That was a perfect tutorial, Stan! They don't get better'n that! I liked the home-made screwdriver. I've made or modifed a lot of tools get the job done. I have to admit that I'm a bit envious of your steady hands. :-) Thanks for showing us how to do it.
Bruce Boschek Thanks for the Kind Words Bruce - Gonna Get Back your way when i can - Catching up on Mr Cutworms Videos - Laughing and Falling out of the Chair - Hands was a Little Shaky i Needed a Cookie lol but was in a Hurry - Sugar was Low
I have this engine on an old Coleman Powermate generator. It's running really rough and only runs if I have it almost fully choked. This video will be very helpful when I take it apart. Thank you.
Same, with a walk behind leaf blower. Glowing red exhaust to. Carb's apart, one of the 4 holes in the middle of the main jet is clogged. Hope u got yours fixed up.
the first time I worked on one of those carburetors, I ruined that fuel nozzle, I didn't know it had to come out before taking the carburetor apart, but learn by doing I guess..
Anyone in this comment section know where i can get the throttle plate assembly for this engine?...none ive found seem to match...now seeing this i see there different from the exact same motor but different applications
The Shade Tree Fix-it Man last year i think or the last time i looked they was around 90 bucks now you can get one for around 25 .. Thanks for stopping by George
On gravity feed fuel systems you should stick with the fuel screens. You don't want to use a paper fuel filter element for gravity feed because the fuel can get hung up in the paper element. The red Briggs & Stratton 298090S fuel screen on your tiller is 150 microns. The White Briggs & Stratton 394358S fuel screen that I run on my tiller is a 75 micron element. Not sure that they make a finer mesh screen element than 75. Running a slosh of E0 Synthetic oil 2 stroke fuel in an empty tank just before storage is not a bad idea. It'll keep the tank and float bowel from rusting as quickly and Zero Ethanol fuel won't turn to goo as fast as E10 or E15.
cutworm59 no that thing is a little ole Horse Model Thinking about getting a Crosley and putting a Tiller behind it for a Big one lolllllllllll Thanks for stopping by Steve
Good video but tolate I messed up the needel the long one so Im gonna have to buy a new carburator but guess what its pretty cheap so Im glad about that but I will still have a motor w electric start
Might be useful to mention a couple of steps between removing a gasoline-filled carburetor and hitting it with a torch. Somebody's lawyer will think he won the lottery when he sees this.
