Nice!! I enjoyed the vlog! I never knew about Honeymoon island, but NOW I know lol 😎. I will be moving to Tampa soon so I won't be too far from honeymoon island. Thanks for sharing your experience guys 😊🤙🏾. I most definitely will be taking a visit there 🏝
It is a beautiful beach! It can be rocky at times though but not all of it. Definitely bring water shoes. Also take the ferry to Caladesi island, it is a must see! Good luck on the move!
i never been to calidesi but honeymoon,, yes.. and im here to say they gave the very best part of the island to the DOGGIES.. so for the best experience, just fallow the dogs , the rest of the island beaches suck,.. covered with slimy big rocks, and one part of the beach you must go around, it just is not passable..lol so... now you know.. when you go.. fallow the dogs.. to first the left, tyhen right drive by the big turtle hole, then make a right, , will lead you to the dog beach paths.. or just go east of the american flag at the beach house .. doggies got it made there.. best damn beach of the whole island..
Nice! Did not know they had such a large concession stand. Live just down the road from there and never been. Need to remedy that. BTW Caladesi is accessible by foot from North Clearwater Beach as well.
Well that is interesting! The website says only accessible by boat. We will have to check that out sometime 🙂 . You should definitely visit the park. It feels less touched by humans. When we went it was only 74 degrees out so not a lot of people there. I am not sure how it looks during summer.
I suspect if more people visit by walking onto the island, there would be lost revenue as it would be up to them to go to the ranger station to pay. So they probably don't like that aspect. You can see another local couple do what I have said here; ua-cam.com/video/LNyTEAS-JF0/v-deo.html
@@BackroadExploits no there wouldn't be lost revenue for the most part. If you cross the sandbar, you are in ankle deep water and if you cross at high tide the water is 3 feet deep. Nah, I'll take the ferry so I don't have to bother worrying about the tides, know what I mean?
@@FloridaandBeyond if you going to walk to that island .. be prepared to walk a few miles... no close parking the north end of clearwater beach is all very private. . there is a video of a lady who walked to calidesi .. its a long walk from north clearwater beach.. the island is actually apart of clearwater beach.. look at it on google earth will explain everything.. and honeymoon island is a new structure man made island in early 1980's.. thats why they have rattle snakes, a lot of the timbers and land scapes brought in from texas and other parts.. we have no rattle snakes in florida but this island yes.. calidessi , north clearwater beach is a god made island but honeymoon is NOT.. some facts to share....... if you go to the visitors station inside the island, you can read , displayed info on all of this.. .. but now you dont have to..
Thank you. I would love to do these trips. My husband and I do a little bit of this while we’re in Florida but he is not much on driving and traveling around once we get there. He’s had it from the drive to get to Florida. Lol.
Driving can be a nightmare after driving a long distance. It is best to stay in the palm harbor, Dunedin area. You are close to a lot of things to do. Caladesi and Honeymoon are both worth a visit! Have fun on your trip! 🙂
I was planning to visit Honeymoon Island but they didn't have a campground there so I went to DeSoto instead because I wanted to camp there. I need to get back there and visit these Islands for sure. Thanks for heads-up 👍
you can boondock in a near by parking lot where the sand bar grill is, then fuel up ,go into honeymoon island with your trailer and spend all day long, but you will have to leave at park closing time, but i did this in a class c and it worked out ok.. just gotta move 3 miles away two times a day.. lol
Yeah, we saw that after we made this video! If you look it up, Google says you can walk from Clearwater Beach but only during low tide, and it is a very long walk. Take the ferry, it is more fun! 🙂
@Rhett174 Yeah, it can be kind of bad by the water. We just got back from Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island, and we are covered in bites from Gnats. You would not think to bring bug spray to the beach, but it is definitely needed. Besides the bugs, how was your trip? We want to kayak the mangroves one day.
@@FloridaandBeyond we rented kayaks from (sail honeymoon kayaks). Yes we loved it we paddled over to the caladesi island beach, then went on down to the state park marina & done the 1 mile mangrove trial, I’m pretty sure they is a longer trial. I will tell ya it’s a pretty long way, it was very fun though! We slept good that night from all the padding, the wind was wrong going but coming back was perfect!
i plan vist in june . thank for video
It is so much fun! Thanks for watching!

Well, you actually cross a sandbar which is under water at high tide.

Thank you!
What month did yal visit ?
This was 4/10/22. It is less crowded during that time. Weekdays are usually less crowded too.
I just got back from kayaking the mangrove trails. Bring mosquitoe repellent!! 🦟
