@Talon_Productions It's a shame. I love G1 and the movie, but the way people talk about it as if it has no flaws and is the absolute be all and end all for the franchise knocks it back for me. My favourite Studio Series to come out of 2024 would have to be Transformers: One Megatron.
6:24 I have one criticism of the Cybertron Starscream figure. His two greatswords, which he pulls out when he activates his Cyberplanet Key, look far too small. I always celebrated it when Starscream pulled out his greatswords in the show because, in good anime fashion, it just looks completely over the top and spectacular.
To a point, I agree. But to be fair, Magmatron was the main villain of a show. An obscure, Japanese exclusive show, but the main villain of a show nonetheless, and he has popped up in other stuff like comics even if it was brief. Devcon, as much as I love him and would love a Commander of him, was at best a background cameo and was only in the one movie.
I personally like the Concept Art Megatron. As a figure, he's super posable, and is a fantastic design... but I just can't see it as Megatron. When I think of Megatron, I think of both Bayverse, and Transformers Prime. Both in my opinion have set the standard for what Megatron should be. In fact my ideal Megatron is any of the Bayverse designs with Transformers Prime's Frank Welker voice.
I got my first studio Series figure, which is TF ONE Optimus prime. I know he gets a lot of shit with the paint looking yellowish but man is he fun. (Wish he was smaller tho) Also I'm planning on trying to get the 2007 5 pack is that good idea. I';m planning on collecting now (P.S love your videos
I lie the SS One Optimus a good bit! He nearly made it on here because I had a lot of fun with him when I got him. I hope you enjoy collecting! And thank you for the kind words, they are greatly appreciated!
I did not care for the 86 Optimus Prime. It's a great figure, but also overrated. The trailer increases the price too much for me to care. Also the head does not look accurate enough.
You say exactly what I think about BB movie Megatron. I don't hate the design, but it's just a design we've seen way too many times and the face really doesn't look good. Above all, the face on the box art looks like it came from a horror game. I have no problem if the Decepticons look like horror creatures, but the face of BB movie Megatron just looks ugly.
I know the consensus is that the mpm 3rd party characters like metagate Drift and UT DINO as well as their upcoming STINGER are too big is overwhelming. But, has anyone came to think that perhaps the HASBRO mpm Bumblebee is too small in robot mode? I say this because everyone for the most part use that figure as the quintessential comparison model when making that statement. In my opinion. The transformers you've mentioned are a good a good size. Giving the fact that BIMBLEEBEE, needs a new MPM. Its soooooo, outdated.
Depending on how you look at it, Bumblebee is too big. For whatever reason the official side of MPM has two scales, the big guys and the smaller guys. Depending on how you look at it, either the smaller guys are too big or the bigger guys are too small. Most third parties and KO companies decided that the smaller guys, Jazz, Bumblebee, and Barricade, were good enough which is why so many of the bigger guys, Optimus, Megatron, Starscream, Ironhide, Ratchet, have been oversized into a more "correct" scale as compared to the smaller guys.
4:15, I mean, the mass majority finds it really hard to critique anything that's G1. Ya know, because G1 is PURRFECT!
Yeah it really does seem that way a lot of the time!

That is totally fair! Doesn't bug me too much but I can see how that could be an issue.
If Magmatron can get a Commander Class figure... THERE ARE NO EXCUSES FOR HASBRO to NOT make a DOTM Commander Class DEVCON.

Yeah, it is just so much of an underwhelming design that is only overpraised because of it's resemblance to a classic design.
