    Finally a practical review of a backpack. More youtubers should include the testing of the amount of beer you can carry. Instant sub! 😊

    I've had this bag in blue for a few years and it's great. Absolutely bombproof, you can change its size to suit your load and lots of little features. Really well built and waterproof if you keep on top of the proofing every couple of years.

      Why did they add the slip pocket on the outside though..doesn't that just collect rain water? That is my only doubt, otherwise looks great.

    You should definitely check out the Osprey Archeon 25 Rolltop and maybe compare the two!

    I have few of their bags, couple of things to note, they are Large!! 15 litre version of this would be enough for a lot people esp women. This 25l is versatile cause can be used for a longer hike or a weekend as well, but when close to empty it might feel like you're carrying a lot for nothing. Secondly, I've seen more practical bags, millican use minimum parts and zippers for environmental reasons and to simplify production process which is great but it's a roll top so.. not as easy to get to the bottom of the bag as if it had a zipper on a side going all the way down.. Suggestion for improvement millican!. Next. Their laptop compartments are amazing,!! but vary from bag to bag in terms of padding on the inside. These roll to models are superbly protected on the outside, side access is awesome, but have like medium padding on the inside, so you've got be be mindful whats inside of the bag and how it will collide with the laptop. Lastly, the carry comfort of these is just the best (except maybe for specialized technical hiking backpacks, but those can't carry a laptop). They feel so nice on the back!!! Millican are super versatile and a joy to carry!! Roll top is harder to get inside the bag not ideal for a quick in and out, but offers that flexibility of being compact when empty but also carry a huge amount of stuff when rolled up! Lastly they have this amazing simple design and that tough quality feel in the hand, I don't know what it is but this fabric feels so good..

    There is one other bag from millican I suggest for everyday use & for hiking, Millican Fraser The Rucksack 32L

    • @jgsk78
      @jgsk78 3 роки тому

      That must be massive for every day. I don't recommend. Millican bags are very generously sized I have this and 15 l version. Where 15l would be enough for most people. This 25 l can packs BIG!! Although still manageable for EDC. also I got rid of their 25 litre zip top version cause it was just too large for everyday... Another comparison, 15l Smith roll is comparable in size to 23 litre Thule enroute 23. Or 20 letter Ogio alpha. They're basically large backpacks. Lastly, I have the 28 litre Duffle, that's also huge.

      I have this exact one, just want to mention it looks rather outdoorsy so if you're after that kind of look, yeah but if your after something city cool, look at other color variants. They're all great. The smaller 15l in light blue looks literally 'cute' in contrast.. almost girly :)

    Is there padding along the bottom of the bag? I'm envisioning something similar to the bottom of the Patagonia Refugio. Just wondering if there is some kind of foam to help with durability. I'm a student, so I worry that the sharp corners of my books will damage and wear down the bottom of the bag over time.

      This is a very good question, and although these are very tough and high quality I've seen criticism that bottom of these bags is just one layer of same material as rest of the bag. If I used it for exactly what you say-books with sharp corners I'd put something else on the bottom like linen cloth or something to protect it from ripping through fabric. I mean I don't know if that can happen, (I have 5 millican bags and never had a problem with them ripping) but also never carried books like your planning, and also just as a precaution, but that would also be the case with any bag for that kind of use.

    Do these stand up on their own when filled?

    • @RushfasterTV
      @RushfasterTV  3 роки тому

      It should! But I guess it may depend on what items you have inside. -Rolan

      Depends on your carry. But without anything inside, it doesn’t.

      No they don't and that's about the only thing that bothers me. (I'm still shopping for a free standing backpack) if it's a must feature for you than look elsewhere. Other than that they look, feel and carry great.
