I think chivalry is the wrong word; Respect or selflessness works better. Chivalry may include courteousness but it is also in relation to helping the weak which could be misconstrued. Respect implies that you see that person as someone worthy of your time because they have proven that they are an admirable person and selflessness implies that you give to others or hold open doors for them so they don’t have to open and close it too.
