Just wanted to share a favorite paddle of mine that is the Three Sisters Swamp on the Black river in N.C. Its a magical spot once you arrive and worth the effort. I came across your videos as I am preparing to float the Jacks Fork. I am a little apprehensive since none of my buddies want to travel that far and I am 66 years old but am determined to do it.I am hoping the local outfitters will help with things.

Outstanding. How is the Black River area for multi day kayak camping? Sounds intriguing! The Jacks Fork is an amazing river. Spring and early summer are best for river levels. Check out Two Rivers Canoe Rentals and ask for Anita. Tell her we sent you. They’re a great outfitter! Thanks for watching!

I loved watching your video after watching RKPete's 2 separate runs of this beautiful river. Can't beat Kayak River Camping! Nice to see the additional red Yukon! Jeff

Awesome video! My buddies and I are doing our trip from Marlinton to Greenbrier River Campground (past Fort Spring) next April/May. Where did you camp throughout the trip? Did you have to pay/and secure permits? I am getting conflicting info.

Thank you! We've been down the GB on many occasions. We usually camp on the islands, as there are several options. I would recommend choosing one with some elevation if significant rain is expected, depending on water levels. Ideal for hammock camping! We have not camped in any of the formal campgrounds, however. So we can't advise in that regard. Private property is often identified by "posted" signs and, depending on the section, can be common along the river. The only period in which we had difficulty finding a suitable campsite was during a flood. That was an eventful trip......and...we should have extracted long before Bacon Falls. Lesson learned. Thanks for watching!

Y'alls trip looked great and thanks for the response. We are being told late April/early May is ideal for decent water levels. When did you do your trip?@@AVAJourneys

@@Studda13 Later in May. It was borderline in regard to water levels. Basically, we pushed it and levels continued to drop below 2.5 on our trip. I would recommend levels above 2.5 at Buckeye. Anything below that, is a scootch fest. We found levels around 3 plus have been ideal. You are correct, April to early May are best.
