As a killer main - most sables are really self-centered, I’ve had many games where there will be people hooked or people downed and a Sable will just go through the exit gates while being fully healthy and without being hooked (don’t ask how I managed to lose with a survivor healthy and unhooked)
Look, a lot of new players picked Sable for their mains, just because she indeed has "pretty privileges", and more people with unique alternative styles decided to join dbd when they saw this survivor with their alternative style. Just let everybody be, everyone was once new to the game.

I know when I first started playing DBD I was terrified to be chased by the killer. I still am depending on the killer! Stop lumping everyone who plays a certain character in with others. It's stereotypical and really ignorant. Just because you had a bad experience doesn't mean you have to take that out on others. Get over it and move on! It's just a game and she is just a fictional character in a god damn video game.
I'm no survivor main by any means but I think like you said a lot of players joined the game when All Things Wicked dropped and Sable was a super relatable/interesting character, ESPECIALLY for female DBD players. But I also believe that a little bit of the "Meg effect" was mixed in with that. And what I mean by that is that 9 times out of 10 a Sable player is bad (because their new) and will usually mess up to the point they become the Killers first target to tunnel out of the game. This all goes back to before how Meg has always been free and has 2 of the best perks in the game so 90% of new players ended up playing her solely for the perks to be prestiged. This made it easy after the first down ON said Meg on whether or not she was a newby and was worth getting out of the game first. I think ultimately like Meg because of all the new players and the popularity, THAT on its own has spiked people's hatred towards Sable especially now since the prestige icons aren't available during lobby.
I main feng/sable and I usually end up getting tunneled out when I'm sable or dodged before the game starts. But then when I would play with other sables, they would be so selfish and lack so much game sense. It was so bad that I haven't touched her that much recently, but I love her as a character and I love her outfits.
I think Sable has become the new Meg, and besides being an insanely popular pick (especially for a character that costs Iri shards/Auric Cells), almost every sable I come across doesn't know how to loop, doesn't hide well, doesn't work on gens, doesn't save/heal, and genuinely is very selfish overall. Very rarely do I come across a Sable that plays well, and when I do, it's exactly like finding that good Meg that is also a rare sight to see. I would say for every 10 games I have with a Sable, 1 MAYBE 2 games I get a decent/cracked Sable, but aside from that, their the first ones I end up killing solely because they put themselves in bad situations, making it easy to get my first kill. This again all comes back full circle to the Meg cycle, and that because Meg was free and had 2 of some of the best perks used in the game, EVERY new player was grinding her and EVERY killer usually knew after the first down whether the Meg was the newby and could be tunneled out for an easy first kill. The case for Sable is that she's one of the first girly pop/goth girls that DBD has released (aside from Feng) and a lot of female DBD players can relate to that, which has increased her popularity two-fold, pushing it over Meg and dare I say, maybe even over Feng Min. I do think it's cool that Behavior was able to add a character that is so well loved that a huge fraction of the community mains her, at the same time you do have the weirdos who solely play her because she's the "hot goth girl". 🤷I ultimately think because so many new players joined during "All Things Wicked" you have that internal hatred for all the new players being associated with playing Sable and I think that's where this hate comes from, especially from the stuck-up survivor mains with 5k + hours that just need to take a fucking break rofl. But I digress, I'm a Chucky main who plays survivor on a blue moon so this spiel doesn't really affect me however I wanted to give my two cents since I do play against survivors A LOT and notice the increasing Sable count lol.

Just another unfortunate easy candidate up on the chopping block for the “hate campaign” people run toward anything with minute popularity. People complain it's the mains but that really can go with any character. Steve Harrington, Rebecca Chambers, Dwight Fairfield, Cheryl Mason. They just like having a cognitive bias. I don’t main Sable and I’m upset she is getting more attention than other survivors (esp Haddie) as shes a BHVR favorite but I won’t dedicate my content and energy to making people who do enjoy her feel crappy about it. I'm a killer main, and most sable's I encounter are either really bad or incredibly sweaty, I find them often quite annoying, and typically they really aren't team players unless it is a whole survivor team of sables, which happens quite a lot tbf. most times when I am in a game with a sable, the sable will die last or manage to escape via hatch because they often don't come to the aid of their fellow hooked survivors. Typically this playstyle ends up with the sable getting the furthest generators possible, causing a three gen. Also most sables I come across use flashlights, flashlights are incomprehensibly annoying, but they are reasonably balanced so I can't really complain about them. I don't like that sable will likely get more cosmetics than most other survivors from here on, but BHVR will benefit from the money so that they may keep moderating their game to their fullest, so it's all pros and cons. Also Sable's voice is really annoying, the only other survivors that quite beat it in earsplitting factor is Steve or Claudette
Personally, I know two good Sables and the rest have become the new Meg or Claudette. They do nothing and hide all match. But then again I am a salty Felix Main who has only ever seen him about 20 times in the year and a half I've been playing

Once you realize that, it probably feels like Sable mains are just people who like to thirst over her. For the record, I don't mind a character being attractive, but with Sable it's so apparent that she wasn't made by an artist, but by a marketing spreadsheet analyzing a specific target audience. She just feels so plastic and artificial. At the end of the day, it doesn't really bother me, but it's just a disappointing thing to see.

Sable also got shoe-horned into Mikaela's lore when she had absolutely no place in it. Mikaela's actual best friend was a guy named Julian. But the Entity magically replaced him with Sable. So, yeah. Screw Sable. Not that I care that much. I'm not so petty as to dislike people who play her. I just think she's an insanely dumb and shallow character.
An argument i see a lot is people hating sable because people think she is setup by BHVR to succeed, purely based on the fact she got more cosmetics than Gabriel and Haddie at launch. And i've seen these same people claim BHVR is racist for doing this which i think is ridiculous to be honest. And i think some people see Sable as a vessel of this The argument assumes all characters have equal chance of characters being as popular as long as they got the same amount of cosmetics and i think this is not the case. Sable is popular for the reasons you mentioned, she is relatable to a lot of people that play this game, it's why feng min is popular, she is a gamer and this is a game. Survivors, more specifically their themes, are not all equally as likely to be engaging to the demographic of the playerbase. And so i don't think BHVR is wrong for giving more cosmetics to popular characters. It's just business and it's how the game will continue to grow overall.
as a survivor there was a match with two other sables and my bf, they would just constantly not making any of their skill check on purpose healing or gens , then when it was just me and another sable cuz the other two players died she got lucky off the hook then using bond led the killer straight to me (ik this cuz my bf was in the match with me and died earlier) it was very wtf

I tunnel Dwights because this one time I ran all the way across the map to unhook my sweetheart my bae my precious love and the SECOND before I was in unhook range Dwight came around the corner and unhooked her. as a goth girl I hate her because she has like no moderate clothing articles, she dresses not like a goth girl, but like how a "I want a big tiddy goth gf" guys think that goth women dress and it pisses me off. Some may say I should turn to mikaela, but me being someone who has glasses, I am very annoyed that like 2 head pieces of hers wear glasses and neither of them I enjoy, argh!
I relate big time. I actually shifted to mostly playing Mikaela tho. I wish Sable had pants/shorts specifically that didn't look designer. Something practical for everyday wear.
This is just like the Mikaela hate I always got, I have been maining Mikaela since the day she was released and I was always chased first, tunneled camped ect. I have had so many experiences with such self centered Sable players. For reference, I'm a Leon player, I'm a dumbass, but EVERY Sable I have had has screwed over our team in some way. They're also one of the first to bm for stupid or silly reasons, I was literally playing killer last night, had a full swf of Sables (I knew cause two of them were ttvs and I checked em out) when the match was over, I was harrassed, told to off myself, and was a waste of a cumshot. Every other survivor I've ran into or with, other than megs or yuis, are almost never that vulgar. That's why I hate Sable.
I don't hate sable as a character. I just greatly dislike how she's been manufactured by BHVR for skins. She has gotten SO many skins while she hasn't been out for a year. All the while some survivors have been neglected for so long.
every sable i've had on my team has always been really bad and useless they just crouch around the map and do nothing all day and help the killer more than they help the team and when i play killer all the sables i go against they are always easy to mind game and they cant loop for anything
I'm not a huge fan of castlevania, but I love Dracula, and playing him has made me actually like playing killer. I also am just a huge vampire fan in general, so anything with a gothic or medieval feel to it is amazing.

It's because in the modern "progressive" there is a huge push to hate beauty and glorify the mediocre and ugly. There are actually lobbyists who pressure game companies to make women less attractive. But despite all the virtue signaling and the bandwagon of hating attracive characters (looking at you, Skull Merchant), most players woyld rather look at a pretty girl than Ugly Doris, and they vote with their dollar. Even BHVR seems to hate Sable. If you watch the last livestream they had about the costume contest winners, the rather unnattractive woman hosting was very excited and gushing over all the winners except for the Sable costume, for which she just said in a monotone, "It's very Sable." If hurt feelings sold DLC every character would look like Charlotte.
The only problem I have with Sable is her lore that is quite bad imo, specially by shoehorning Mikaela into it and not giving as much development to Sable's own character beyond a goth stereotype, but hopefully that's fixed if she gets a tome story!
Why hate Sable? Easy. She reeks of self insert. She doesn't feel like someone who wandered/got taken into The Fog, she feels like some edgy teenage girl's OC with the whole "I'm actually really strong. I can harness the power of the darkness and the entity to my favor" and whose best friend is Mikaela just because said edgy girls fave character is Mikaela. And that's just the character, not the players. Sable players seem to share 2 braincells collectively all competing for 3rd place. Anytime I see a Sable player in my games, they either loop well but still die first, or are just all over the map, never doing anything in specific. So no, I'll keep hating on "Original the Character"

Survivors, more specifically their themes, are not all equally as likely to be engaging to the demographic of the playerbase.
And so i don't think BHVR is wrong for giving more cosmetics to popular characters. It's just business and it's how the game will continue to grow overall.

as a survivor there was a match with two other sables and my bf, they would just constantly not making any of their skill check on purpose healing or gens , then when it was just me and another sable cuz the other two players died she got lucky off the hook then using bond led the killer straight to me (ik this cuz my bf was in the match with me and died earlier) it was very wtf

as a goth girl I hate her because she has like no moderate clothing articles, she dresses not like a goth girl, but like how a "I want a big tiddy goth gf" guys think that goth women dress and it pisses me off. Some may say I should turn to mikaela, but me being someone who has glasses, I am very annoyed that like 2 head pieces of hers wear glasses and neither of them I enjoy, argh!

I relate big time. I actually shifted to mostly playing Mikaela tho. I wish Sable had pants/shorts specifically that didn't look designer. Something practical for everyday wear.

This is just like the Mikaela hate I always got, I have been maining Mikaela since the day she was released and I was always chased first, tunneled camped ect. Sooo annoying 🤣🤣 I still get it sometimes but not as much. I feel like a lot of people who play this game now especially people who play killer are super toxic and enjoy making peoples lives miserable. Its really sad, I miss old DBD!!!

I guess the hate comes from the fact that she's now seen as "overrated" everyone plays her so people start hating on her for 1. because shes used a lot 2. because she's used a lot, a lot of killers get their timbers shivered by her, thus creating a lot of frustration and hate towards the Sable character and Players 🗿 (PS almost 1 k follow sfriend, you deserve them !!!)

I have had so many experiences with such self centered Sable players. For reference, I'm a Leon player, I'm a dumbass, but EVERY Sable I have had has screwed over our team in some way. They're also one of the first to bm for stupid or silly reasons, I was literally playing killer last night, had a full swf of Sables (I knew cause two of them were ttvs and I checked em out) when the match was over, I was harrassed, told to off myself, and was a waste of a cumshot. Every other survivor I've ran into or with, other than megs or yuis, are almost never that vulgar. That's why I hate Sable.
I don't hate sable as a character. I just greatly dislike how she's been manufactured by BHVR for skins. She has gotten SO many skins while she hasn't been out for a year. All the while some survivors have been neglected for so long.

every sable i've had on my team has always been really bad and useless they just crouch around the map and do nothing all day and help the killer more than they help the team and when i play killer all the sables i go against they are always easy to mind game and they cant loop for anything
Maybe it's just me but I feel like Sable is hated mostly by ameriguns and loved/neutral by eurobeans

I'm not a huge fan of castlevania, but I love Dracula, and playing him has made me actually like playing killer. I also am just a huge vampire fan in general, so anything with a gothic or medieval feel to it is amazing.

It's because in the modern "progressive" there is a huge push to hate beauty and glorify the mediocre and ugly. There are actually lobbyists who pressure game companies to make women less attractive. But despite all the virtue signaling and the bandwagon of hating attracive characters (looking at you, Skull Merchant), most players woyld rather look at a pretty girl than Ugly Doris, and they vote with their dollar. Even BHVR seems to hate Sable. If you watch the last livestream they had about the costume contest winners, the rather unnattractive woman hosting was very excited and gushing over all the winners except for the Sable costume, for which she just said in a monotone, "It's very Sable." If hurt feelings sold DLC every character would look like Charlotte.

The only problem I have with Sable is her lore that is quite bad imo, specially by shoehorning Mikaela into it and not giving as much development to Sable's own character beyond a goth stereotype, but hopefully that's fixed if she gets a tome story!
Why hate Sable? Easy. She reeks of self insert. She doesn't feel like someone who wandered/got taken into The Fog, she feels like some edgy teenage girl's OC with the whole "I'm actually really strong. I can harness the power of the darkness and the entity to my favor" and whose best friend is Mikaela just because said edgy girls fave character is Mikaela. And that's just the character, not the players.
Sable players seem to share 2 braincells collectively all competing for 3rd place. Anytime I see a Sable player in my games, they either loop well but still die first, or are just all over the map, never doing anything in specific.
So no, I'll keep hating on "Original the Character"
