    Hey, Caleb. I want to tell you that you’ve helped change my life. This video was randomly recommended to me at the beginning of this year, which has led to me to start my reselling journey. I’ve made enough sales to build the confidence in starting my own business, so thank you. I just shipped my first quick flips batch today (don’t ding me too hard on my potential defects).

    Good review!
    We use 2 of these at work to clean/polish discs before selling them too, and on average go through about 300-500 discs a day, so about 200 per machine. The machines have been there for at years at this point and only have had to have a few minor repairs (springs breaking, etc.) aside from the regular cleaning. One recommendation that I learned after using them for a while: Try discs on Clean/Polish before going to Very Light for the settings and see what works for what levels of scratches. We were wasting a lot of time and supplies running things on Very Light and Light before realizing most discs only needed Clean/Polish to get them back in nice shape.

    We’ve replaced the filter maybe 5 times total, and we’ve ran tens of thousands of discs over the time we’ve had it. Definitely don’t need to replace it unless it has a hole or rip. Just wash it when you wash out the pitcher.
    We also use some rubber cement on the GameCube adapter to hold the discs. Forget those little circular stickers, they suck anyway lol

      It does seem like those little circular stickers allow for some level of disc scooting. Most Gamecube labels are resilient though (unless they've already got the print cracking, which happens to some). I'll try the rubber cement tip sometime.

    For what it's worth you can repair GameCube discs in this, it's just a bit fiddly.
    You simply start a job with a regular CD/DVd, but once it's loaded onto the platen (you'll see a little white arrow appear on the screen underneath the pad setting you're on) you pause the job and load in the GameCube disc (in adaptor).
    The results are great but having to babysit the machine isn't. Took one of my staff members almost two hours to get through a dozen discs this way.

    • @GermanDaytrader
      @GermanDaytrader 9 місяців тому

      Why? You can use without any problems the GameCube adaptor and start a normal CD/DVD repair. There is no extra work you have do to. If you have 10 adaptors you can put all 10 and they will be done like normal DVDs. The only problem is that you have to stick the discs with any other double faced tape because the original ones quickly no longer stick and over time the adapters become rounded and sanded down on the outer edge.
      But you can lower the sanding pressure for GameCube Discs.

    • @Sposchy
      @Sposchy 9 місяців тому

      @@GermanDaytrader It might be because of the age of our machine, but the vacuum pressure isn't strong enough to pick up a GameCube disc in the adapter. It drops them before the arms can grab.

    Consider reusing the pads after the recommended 50 cycles. I currently run autosmarts and these pads will typically last 3x-4x that cycle. Once the discs start showing swirls from repair is when it’s time to replace. Also that solution d is 🚮. Been running regular tap water only for years with same results. Hope this helps anyone :)

      @kenl2367 Рік тому

      @@RazzleDazL you can cheap out now on replacing the pads or not using distilled water. Eventually the damages will acumulate and the machine will be bricked. They're well made but not abuse proof.

      My experience with the pads is:
      Black Pad: 500+ (standard 250)
      Yellow Pad: 45-75
      Green Pad: 50-75
      Red Pad: 50-75
      Swirl marks happen and don't look great, so once they appear I switch pads one by one until it looks good. I toss the yellow, green, and red pads when done. I have tried cleaning them with water and dish detergent but once the grit is gone they basically just ineffectively sand discs. The yellow pad is the most important one to not get greedy with as it is the final prep before polish (black pad). Using water instead of solution seems odd to me but to be honest, I don't really know what solution D does. I do know that when using the yellow pad (DVD/CD) there is much more water used. When using the black pad there is more polish used.

    • @GermanDaytrader
      @GermanDaytrader 9 місяців тому

      Sure, you can use it over night. But if an error occurs, for whatever reason, the device stops exactly where it is. If at this moment the pump is running to lift a CD, that is rather bad for the lifetime. I monitor it with a camera and use Alexa to turn off the power from home if necessary.
      Mine is one room away, both doors closed, so I can't hear it at work. In the same room its realy stressful and loud.
      When I've bigger customer orders, I try to process them as quickly as possible, then it also runs at night. The risk of something not working is not high.

(Example: 50 discs on setting 2 or setting 4). The reason I ask is because setting 4 on the Autosmart does sand more of the discs down so being able to to choose on a per disc basis is quite useful.

      Yellow pad + gamecube game attachment.
      Setting 1: Polish = fill in some scratches and beautify the disc.
      Setting 2: Sanding = Does a good job on the majority of discs and has a low risk of ruining them
      Setting 3: Sanding = Does a great job cosmetically but might ruin the disc. In most cases it's fine.

I call it an evil necessity. I can't knock anyone down for getting one of those things I always hear how business crucial it is to have one, especially that model. For a business, it's a very valuable tool. Even if I had 2 million dollars in the bank 22k is still wild. I am all for buying, but the price is just not it. I really hope someone is able to find a way to challenge their prices. It really fucks everyone over to the business and the buyer. If Bobby has to clean a 2 dollar movie or game then they might sell it at 4 dollars to at least break even, so you can see even on the buyer's end it fucks with us.

If you can find them cheaper if buying 50 and maybe you don’t need to make 50 pcs of GC at a time! I remember chase ddi after his 50000 discs purchase a couple of years back!
