Never had an issue with it. Ended up putting these back to stock and they were still good. The ends of the tape were under the clamps. So that was also keeping the tape secure. I'd use a higher grade material if I did it again. But there are some good high temp tapes you could wrap them with these days
I mean you can just buy a cone filter for 50 bucks and slap it on your stock intake to make it sound different. but i would highly recommend not cheaping out when it comes to performance parts for your car. cheap aftermarket parts can a lot of times make your car perform worse than factory. I'd rather pay a few extra hundred bucks and get a part that will know has been made with quality. K&N intake system for this car literally came with a guarentee for an increase of 7hp and had a dyno chart to prove it. just save up for a few months and get something quality man, take your time and your build will be amazing. www.genracer.com has a huge list of products to buy

This car seems to be able to adjust to it. Not every car can run vent to atmosphere. But this never had a problem with it. I now have a GTR and it needed speed density tuning to run vent to atmosphere, but the Genesis was fine stock tuning
I think they are 2.5 inches. Not quite 90 degree tho, more like 120. I would say, before you work on the car, scope out some stores to see if anyone carries several sizes of couplers. Them once you get the stock ones out, bring them to the store and match them up to new ones.

that's just the sound your turbo makes after you open up the intake on the genesis coupe, for me its a lot of air wooshing and then it fades into a clean whistle that gets higher pitched and less noticeable the higher the rpm on full boost
I doubt that would do much of anything, it would still flex. The main reason to get this is because it relocates the sensor on the cold side piping to the largest diameter part of the pipe, so it sends more air into the engine.
The power seems a little more consistent. And between shifts, the turbo seems to respond much quicker. I think with a tune, these pipes will really show their performance gains over the stock pipes. Depends on how long to are planning to wait before the FMIC. You can always sell the IC pipes later on.
neoda91 When my ECU was still re learning everything after I reset it for the install, I noticed a huge increase in power, my car actually put me back in my seat! Once it reset, that huge power went away ): The car was still more responsive than stock. So with a tune I know they will help me gain some power. You should go ahead and buy them now, that way your car is ready for when you get tuned.

Question: what if i want a hks ssqv blow off valve installed and it replaces the upper part of the cold side piping. What would i do to be able to use the injen pipe and the blow off valve?
Hey man I don't know if you already made the mod since this comment is a couple months old. But you can get an ADP BOV adapter for the HKS SSQV4 so it connects to the stock location which will allow you to keep the cold side piping.

+johnny pache Just make sure the welds have no cracks. They should be good. Might have some scratches or dents. But as long as there are no cracks or holes they will will work properly.
Unless your buying or bought a CAI for looks don't get it. The stock air box flows perfect and an aftermarket CAI is mainly for sound. The only think you or anyone else should buy is a reusable air filter, not for performance but for saving money in the long run. I been messing with supercharged and turboed cars since 1994. No tuning for these! I never ended up tuning my car and it always ran great. Only time you'll need to tune it is when you replace the downpipe with a catless one
+Stebin Samuel You might be able to get a good shop to weld a flange on if possible. There are some FMIC kits that come with BOV relocation plates and a flange built into the new pipe.

Black electrical tape hmmm so what if it peels off from the heat and gets caught in youre high speed fan? Sounds like Ingen sux.

I believe you can buy an adapter plate so you can mount it to the stock location. If not, I think it comes with it's own cold side pipe.

Double check all your pipe connectors. Sounds like a boost leak of some sorts

You would have to modify the cold side pipe. Probably cut it in half and use a coupler to attach it to the bov pipe

Why not get a whole intercooler kit?
I eventually wanted to do that. But Just wanted to start small. Never had issues with IAT's. So a bigger core wasn't really needed

The pipe expanding doesn't decrease pressure dude..it just increased the volume needed to be filled

It's bolted right to the turbo
The ic pipes do not have an aftermarket bov flange it uses the stock bov location.
