    I think I originally pointed you to the A7Cii so obviously think that’s the better option. Similar matching colour science, familiarity with their menus, not having another lens ecosystem to worry about, live-streaming capability, the AI features and I also like the lens shutter feature should you have to swap a lens out.

      You did originally point me to the a7cii! Thank you for the suggestion. I placed the order yesterday. Looking forward to putting it to work and making a video about my new workflow 👍

    All Lumix L mount lenses have breathing compensation (electronically), including the 24mm f/1.8. Also, you could save money and get the S5ii as it also has a fan like the S5iix.

    New S5iix owner here
    I was also debating between the S5iix and the A7cii after I sold off all my Canon stuff
    I went with the S5iix because of the highly marketed the Prores, USBC recording and the price, not just the body, but the kit with the 20-60mm is a pretty big discount, in my country for Canon and Sony purchasing the Body with lens kit costs the same as buying the lens and body seperately
    However
    Unfortunately the S5iix is unable to do anything above 30FPS without cropping in, but for my needs, I needed the internal fan and better sooc colors, hence the s5iix

    You'd probably better off with the Lumix S9 for YT studio only.

      I'm tempted to just try out the Lumix to see how well it performs... but something tells me the Sony is the right choice for me. What do you film with your Canon RP?

    You could get the amazing Sigma lenses for the Lumix. The 24mm f2 or the 24mm f3.5 should be good alternatives to the Samyang 24mm f2.8 on the Sony. And the A7CII can overheat and only has 1 card slot, so the Lumix should be much more reliable.
    BTW you won't get focus breathing compensation on non Sony lenses.

    • @YourStoryStudios
      @YourStoryStudios  Місяць тому

      Good points. I saw some tests with the Sigma lenses for the Lumix and they had a lot of focus breathing which turned me off. From my research, it looks like the a7cii doesn't over heat, even though it doesn't have a fan. I think I'm willing to risk it and go with the Sony. I've been checking the approved lens list for breathing comp and the Sony lenses I'm looking at getting are on them 👍

    Poor sensor readout is not only detrimental to very fast motion and whip pans, it affects the OVERALL MOTION RENDERING negatively. The result is more jello like footage regardless of what you do. Gyro stabilization is also negatively impacted.

    Why would you switch from the a7s3? No camera under 4 grand has been able to compete with it in the last 4 years.
    I switched to lumix for the s5iix and regret it every single day. The sensor really does suck. TBH, I think they need an updated log curve or something. The image is aweful. For photo it’s actually amazing

    • @YourStoryStudios
      @YourStoryStudios  Місяць тому

      I'm keeping the a7s3 for my professional work, but for my UA-cam studio and podcast recording, the a7s3 is overkill. The Sony a7cii looks to be at a good price point and has the features I need. It also has the ability to bake in user LUTs, which the a7s3 doesn't have. That's a feature I'm wanting to help speed up my editing workflow. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    In terms of Lumix, the specs look good and Panasonic went all out in giving us features, but there is a HUGE CATCH. The elephant in the room that all of these Lumix fan boys and morons fail to consider is how CHEAP of a sensor and processor Panasonic decided to use. That is why it SEEMS like the new Lumix are a "good deal". The result is HORRIBLE ROLLING SHUTTER and sensor readout.

    • @iammz81

      For YT you don't need fast readout. :D listen to what the video is about. He does NOT need A7S3 for YT studio and for talkinghead Lumix is brilliant, and the S9 would perfectly fit. Small formfactor, articuliting screen, variety of codecs.
