I recall 2 years ago or so, a group of unknown random players in Asia inflated the Team ranked by letting themselves win/lose, they were like +3.8K ELO pretty ridiculous.
Well the question is where you draw the line for cheating? Is playing 95% of your skill cheating? Is not civ picking cheating?

@@NiliAoE2 I hope there will be a video showcasing all the maps with common strategies and potential issues. Looks like many maps still have aspects that need to be worked on but deadline is drawing closer.

Scissoring is a fitting term for the skirm v skirm battles I've seen on the EW ladder. Both MbL and Larry seems to have transitioned quickly and well back to the EW settings, and I think it will be tough to fight for the spots among these two and Hera.
WES team & MBL looks really strong in this settings 💪💪 - its going to be really crazy before the cutting date

You could also strategically trap people in a game. Like if you are ahead by a lot of points and then just play hide and seek for four hours just to waste the "chasers" time
there is timelimit in game

It makes too much sense to camp so that your points don't circulate back, and no one outside of top5-20 is going to be playing that ladder. It will be hard for others to catch up
well you will have to beat high rated players to properly climb
It doesn't really make sense to camp anyway, unless you got to the top by pure fluke and won 20-0. They all got there with skill so can maintain it with skill. Perhaps it might shuffle a bit on the last day due to bad luck, that should be taken into account closer to the time.
well if you win 60% of the time vs #5-#10 why would you risk pushing their rating 40% of the time?

Imagine if Lierrey and MBL played twenty games right now. Lierrey won the first 10 and got to 2k highest elo, and then MBL won the next ten and got to 2k highest elo. They would be guaranteed to qualify.

there certainly are problems with the system
i think lierey is falling into the trap of "it is like this now so it will continue to be like this" i think the activity in the ladder definitely might ramp up in the coming weeks. the issue was that the qualifying period was too long for EW
