Do you have a version of this dish? Tell me all about it? Or is there another dish that you love to eat with your favorite people?? I love hearing about these traditions.
I use a technique I learned from David Rosengarten when he was on Food Network - get giant Quahog clams - open them raw and throw in the blender. I cook up some smaller clams the traditional way with the pasta. My version also uses butter. Sorry Carla
Historically I haven't liked clams, mussels, or oysters, but I do like scallops! I was feeling fancy one night a few years back and made a pasta with seared scallops and white wine & butter sauce. That's coincidentally when I learned that you must trim your scallop to get rid of the foot. It was delicious albeit chewy!
"One door closes, another clam opens." Words of wisdom, for the ages! I do not care for clams. However, your Friday night with your family and too many clam cooks in the kitchen sounds like too much fun. I'd love to be there with you all, some time. I'll enjoy all the rest of the components of the pasta dish, and more clams for all of you!
I'm Italian and Carla is the only non Italian chef who can actually cook pasta the right way, as I'd do. The greens/pancetta combo is absolutely not traditional but who cares, as long as pasta is finally cooked right! I'll give it a go 4 sure (we usually do pasta with vongole "in bianco" which means white, no tomatoes at all, just garlic, olive oil, white wine, clams and parsely )
Let me say Cosmo. And you are too cute together, God bless your beautiful souls these versions of this sauce. I think they're all wonderful and I'm dying to try this one with this Swiss chart and the 1 with the tomato, and of course the white, this is a great dish and I'm gonna adopt Friday night clams. Yes, thank you Carla Lolly music I love you. I love your style or you are just great presents on the screen and I just get a kick out of watching you smile ear to ear every time thank you for sharing.
I love watching Carla ❤ Thank you for the amazing recipes too. Really looking forward to going 🏠 and making them! but that is going to take a couple months so for right now I'm just enjoying the videos 🙏🏼
I’m new to clams. I’ve only cooked them once and eaten them once. I’m learning to open my mind to certain textures that have been my bane in the past. Perhaps I will pin this for next Friday night when my husband gets home from his work trip and give clams another shot! Hoping to do mussels and frites soon as well but haven’t yet worked up the courage 😅
I have to make this now!! I would've voted for your fav too, not a 'lilbitta tomato' fan here. The ending with Cosmo imitating you was the absolute best🤣🤣
i was a lil upset when "little bit of tomato" got majority vote and it seemed like Cosmo's vote didn't matter...i'm so happy that Cosmo gets the last say!
Wait - Carla! - hang on: can you teach us why exactly you don't feel okay about the pat of butter at the end? What would it do that you feel would NOT be right for this dish? (I"m trying to get more educated about cooking! :) Thank you for your wisdom).
From a Scottish Irish chick in Nova Scotia - fwiw - my fave is chard + pancetta + a lil tomato action w clams cause you ***can have it all. ALSO - I love you AND am SO CONFUSED by your pronunciation of sh-ard. Isn't it ch-ard, like choo choo?

We make our’s with red pepper flakes, lemon zest, garlic, wine and lots of fresh parsley....not a big fan of cheese and seafood
Carla, this is a longshot but can I spin this with something non-seafoody? I am allergic!! 💙

Unrelated but so happy for your success from like a thousand to like.. 200k.. unreal! So proud always + keep up the wonderful work + consistency 👏
Carla: still does on camera polls and taste tests despite her track record. I salute her bravery, if not her track record! 😂😂😂❤❤❤
We all know that Cosmo's vote is worth at least 5 times more than the rest, therefore swiss chard and pancetta was chosen as the family favourite! 😂
Carla's relationship with her family is enviable. I want to make this for my family now to bring us closer together 😂😂
“Little bitta tomata” is exactly how my family would say it and I’m dying rn 😂
I was not ready for Cosmo being so grown 😭❤️

So true: family is simultaneously celebrating and annoying each other!!!! You are wise! 👍🏻💕🍝
How are we not talking about the camera guy cameo?! .. ooo lala! Call me camera guy! 💕
I like COSMO. He makes you laugh as I used to make my late mom laugh. =).....
A missed opportunity to address us as the clamily in the intro 😂😂😂 but still a lovely recipe as always!
Love the family input today !
I’ve made this recipe four or five times and it’s amazing. Making it again tonight because I need to taste “little bit of tomata” for myself.
Omgoodness! I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR A SPAGHETTI AND CLAMS RECIPE FROM YOU!! ❤
"Why would you want to be flat when you could be round" is my new life motto
“A clam party!….sorry Cosmo” 😂😂😂
That clam party joke is so top tier
I love your videos and recipes so much, but the DOG! The dog and your kiddos and the fact that you make it a family event is what I like most!
My son has a business dream called Clam Cat where he straps clams to a cat’s back and they deliver door to door.
Nails on point!
I love watching Carla ❤ Thank you for the amazing recipes too. Really looking forward to going 🏠 and making them! but that is going to take a couple months so for right now I'm just enjoying the videos 🙏🏼
This is the definition of iconic.
cosmo gets you!!!! ❤
Thanks for the warm friendly fun Carla, can’t wait to head to the grocery store tomorrow!
We make this kinda similar pasta but with mussels! This tastes so great and so light too i love it
Wtf when did Cosmo go from the funny kid to basically a full grown man? I feel I must have missed some videos in my recommended page 😂

Try stuffed clams - they get chopped up with other yummy ingredients like bacon. I bet you wouldn't mind the texture.
Funny kid just like mama 😅 thank you Carla for sharing this deliciousness! ❤
Cosmo has grown a lot since the last vid. omg
Another awesome video from Miss Carla ❤😊
I bet Carole is just stupid proud of Carla and everything she’s done with the family recipes
Just made this tonight, and it's FANTASTIC!
Hi Carla, big fan. I swear we have THE exact same tasebuds! everything you make is exactly what I love to eat! 🙂
I love how everyone said it the same 😂❤ little bit of tomato 🍅
breaking my long time silence as a quiet fan of this show to just say that i am a loud fan for cosmo
That zoom in on Cosmo’s face towards the end. 🥹
I have to make this now!! I would've voted for your fav too, not a 'lilbitta tomato' fan here. The ending with Cosmo imitating you was the absolute best🤣🤣
'Yeah, I hope so.' got me rollin'
this is the one. the one ive been waiting for.
Hi Carla. Can I substitute mussels for clams in this recipe? We have wonderful mussels at the fish market right now.
Not Carla but I'd say GO FOR IT! 😁
aaa that bit at the end, loool
Carla uses at least one bowl that's too small in almost every video 😂
Carla, I am offended I wasn't invited to your clam party! 🤣🤣
This looks good, love clams. That Cosmo boy of yours is so funny. You done good. 😀
Great video! Yummy! Cute pup!
oh my gosh. Cosmo!!
Looks so good!
This does sound so good. And I hope your dad didn't have COVID and I hope he's doing okay now.
You had me at clams! I agree with you Carla - #teamcheese rather than butter to finish.
Hell of a tostie
❤❤❤
can someone let me know what kind of dogs Carla has?!
Omg love the pup!
❤
i was a lil upset when "little bit of tomato" got majority vote and it seemed like Cosmo's vote didn't matter...i'm so happy that Cosmo gets the last say!
Frank looks like brad garrett! I thought you had a celebrity in the family for a second 🤣
I love you both❤
Yum
Come for the recipe, stay for Cosmo roasting Carla.
Carla, how do you look just like both parents? Too cute.
Carla! I would love to know where you purchased the amazing looking wooden utencils you use
Im a lush scallop, thank you very much
Is it safe to cook with clams if you don't live near the coast?
Always assess your clam 😂😂
When you do with tomato is it fresh tomato, canned?
Wait - Carla! - hang on: can you teach us why exactly you don't feel okay about the pat of butter at the end? What would it do that you feel would NOT be right for this dish? (I"m trying to get more educated about cooking! :) Thank you for your wisdom).
Clam party 🤣

We all want a tight clapper
Love your son
Whatever happened to the podcast, tho??
I've been wondering also!
Grated cheese ?!? 😡 (Love the recipe)
Not the sausage and clam parities!
Oh my, where did that boy who used to taste test for Claire go!?!
Cosmo is on his way to become the hottest lady killer of all times. That kid be hella fine. Also, extra love to both Carla and him.
Question: Do people actually like hot pasta / hot tomato sauce?
do you mean hot as in spicy? cause the answer is yes to both :)
@@harpy2602Ditto
...as opposed to cold pasta?
Not expensive???? Girl
pardon, but dog is not optional 😂
Clams, really? Must be an italian thing. We eat fish on friday, so I guess I understand. Fish and shrimp on friday night. Mmmmm.
I believe the analog to the sausage party is called a clam bake.
