No, this is a more traditional sound. The tension for a hybrid head to sound like a typical marching snare would be too high for this drums rim would warp
This is mostly due to the style of marching percussion you’re accustomed to hearing (Drum Corp). A lot of show style ensembles use snares just like this. It’s not really as simple as slapping a Kevlar head on.
My advice is not to. These are designed to sound like lower tension field drums used in the military. If you want a DCI sound, get a drum with a Kevlar head and a shell that could stand up to the tension.
If anything they’re not well taken care of or you’re trying to play music written for drums with Kevlar heads that are much more articulate. There’s no reason these should suck.
Because mylar heads DON'T suck. Great sound for a budget snare drum! Nicely played!
Thank you))
Fancy meeting you hear =).
If i put a evans hybrid s head, it should sound just like a normal marching snare right. I dont hear many marching snares like this.

I have 2 mid 70s 15 in. TDRs. Like to compare to the Yami
Any suggestions on how to make it sound like a marching snare and not a concert field drum?
use kevlar heads and crank it up

This is what a snare drum is supposed to sound like.
TDRs. The best you could get before the popcorn snares

My old middle school uses these drums and they are garbage ngl. Save up a bit more and buy an SFZ or pearl championship.

Kazi Iqbal well yeah they’re marketed as a marching snare drum, but they don’t sound like a marching snare, and the hardware on them is terrible
@@flarfatron2190 Save a few bucks and buy a sheet of plywood, sounds just as good. 🤡
clickity clack clack clack
Not garbage when new
My middle school does too, and our marching snare is older than I am.
