Thank you Paul. I'm extremely grateful for your instructional video. I was getting very frustrated, but thanks to you I did not destroy any household items in extreme anger.
Why did you cut it at 2:33? That was the part I needed to see. Did you fill the bulb?? what did you do? At what point did you take your finger off top. Can't use this....
@@ryanwyrick6947well that sucks, because thats what everybody needs it for :/. Thats what i need it for, i have a car that just shit the bed with a full tank
Glad to find your video, I bought the same siphon several years ago and used it once. I couldn’t get it to work today until I watched this and saw you folded over the short end and pinched it to close. I’d been holding my fingertip to the opening and apparently wasn’t getting it air tight, so not getting suction initiated.
OK.. But at what point do you take your thumb off the other end? I'm trying to take oil out of the oil tank in my lawn mower. The Siphon sucks the oil perfectly until it gets to the black ball thing, then it stops moving. When I take my finger off, the oil starts going back into the machine.
Thank you, Paul. That’s what I was looking for is just a simple, how to use this bulb siphon. I also couldn’t figure out how to use it. Plugging one end and pushing air into the liquid. Makes sense. Displacement!
used same exact siphon pump to replace AT Fluid and it gave me some headache because the pipe is so hard it would make it difficult to hold it in the same position in a tiny tank and it would pop out each time I would try to arrange the lower other end of the pump's pipe
Helpful and straight to the point, thank you. A word of advice to viewers though: hold the bulb vertically so that all the air can get out of it. That stopped me up for a bit.
you should do one for differential gear oil changes... thicker and heavier.. Reason you might need this for the front is the drain plug is always seized and you can extract the gear oil from the fill plug port using this siphon which I might try. Im gonna try with motor oil first just to practice ...
My local hardware store carries that same pump and the online reviews are really bad. I think the bad reviews are largely due to people not using it the right way thinking that you need to pump the liquid rather than just prime it and let is siphon. Thanks for the video, very helpful 👍🏼
I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your knowledge and honesty with the situation of how the Hell should be pretty simple but it was baffling me to be looking for help , and the time was better spent finding the video and not sitting there for hours like ......!!!!! This has earned the like & sub ☆
I was waiting for him to say now my hands all red 🤣🤣🤣 video is extremely healthy cos I got one of these pumps failed in using it now it's just sitting amongst the car repair pile 🤣🤣 but this video was entertaining and helpful 👌
To weigh down the end, I punched a small hole in the end of the feeder tube, used a very small cable tie, and attached a sturdy metal nut. Make sure it's all done properly as the last thing you want is to lose a nut inside your gas tank!
after realizing how to use it properly, I look back and think how could I have been so fuckin stupid.. its common sense but I feel like it's fuckin rocket science 🤣
Hey I wanted to say thankyou for making your hand red and sticky with the kool-aid. Aside from that your video explained why I spent so much time trying to get this hand pump to work. I appreciate your video. OH YEAH!!!!!
Great Vid - These are being marketed to bikers as an emergency way to get gas from other bikers or cars but im sure they dont know how it works cos one of those containers wont fit in a race bike tail. I wish it had a one way valve. Or I could pack a sturdy plastic bag to hold the fuel maybe.
I am trying this to get gas out of my grand Caravan into my other car and the end in my grand Caravan shoved all the way in there isn’t even wet. I had the opposite end closed and pumped the thing for like five minutes and nothing.
Good example......just purchased one, had to get some oil out of my motorcycle 🏍, kinda added to much. Saved me from doing an oil change, got it from Wal-Mart for about $3 and some change. 👍
So I can get it to work like you showed in the video but I can't get it to work in my car. I push the hose in as far as I can and try it but nothing. I can even smell and feel the gasoline on the end of the tube when I pull it out.
Thank you for your video. I just bought that siphon kit to siphon some homemade wine. I would not have figured out how to use it. But now I do, thanks.
Use this for your transmission, siphon mtf fluid, set the long part of the tube higher and sit the small part into the fill plug 🔌, poor from the top, just add 1 quart or less, but never empty the entire transmission or the car won’t move out of neutral because it has to adjust to the new fluid’s viscosity. So just add transmission fluid after a course of good driving years.
get your hands out of that! lol. seriously though, is there a way to get this to work where you don't have to fuss with the intake side? how long a tube will this thing start a syphon on? what I really want to do is overcome an airlock in quarter inch tube, carrying water but running a long way....like a thousand feet.. ideas??! I'm accepting ideas.
I've got the exact same hose kit. I'll be using it tomorrow because a local "shady" mechanic allowed his young worker to send me on my way with at least 2.5 quarts too much oil in my 20 year old car. Seriously? 😠
Have you ever used one of those small hand squeeze pumps. I just bought one by Victor Products from Autozone (looks like a accordion in a tube shape that you squeeze) and wondering if they really work :well" before I open it.....Here's a link so you can see it. Any feedback would be great if you have used a similar pump. I need to siphon old gas out of my car that's been sitting a long time. www.autozone.com/test-scan-and-specialty-tools/fluid-pump/victor-products-siphon-pump/574855_0_0
It would have been much more impressive if you had used ice instead of just plain water. Any yokel can do just plain water? Maybe next time use a bucket full of Covid-19.
Thank you Paul. I'm extremely grateful for your instructional video. I was getting very frustrated, but thanks to you I did not destroy any household items in extreme anger.
We are the same.
This comment is what I came here to write 😂
I tore up the back of the package trying to get the pump out and wasn't smart enough to figure it out. Finally found your video! Thank you so much!
Why did you cut it at 2:33? That was the part I needed to see. Did you fill the bulb?? what did you do? At what point did you take your finger off top. Can't use this....
Take your finger off when the liquid reaches near it
Great!.....wish I would have seen this video first before failing miserably trying to siphon gas out of my car tank using this pump...lol
wouldnt have been long enough anyway...
@@ryanwyrick6947well that sucks, because thats what everybody needs it for :/. Thats what i need it for, i have a car that just shit the bed with a full tank

Can I use a siphon to pump transmission fluid in my transmission?
I still can't get mine to work and keep flowing :( I did exactly the same with the pinching but it stops flowing. Will have to try again
My man. Thank you. Idk why this video was so hard to find lol

Man, I thought I was dense! Didn’t know you had to block the exit end of the tube. Thx!
Hey, thanks for changing the camera angle right at the critical point! I think I get it but, man, was that really necessary?
Thanks for this. I sat in the Walmart parking lot this morning frustrated I couldn't get the thing to suction. Closing the other end....face-palm!
Thanks! I needed this and apparently it's the only one on UA-cam.
With mine I have to keep restarting/priming and only a little comes out. Probably an issue with the source or my technique.
I did what you did, but my bulb but wont inflate after I squeeze the air out.
Thank you. Glad I saw this video first before trying to use this pump.
Yeah but of fencing wire or something can be used to wrap the end and then holld it like a handle to pin the opening down on the bottom of the tank
where do i get that particular one?

My buddys uncle said this will work with 80w90 gear oil. Is he right or no
I was waiting for him to say now my hands all red 🤣🤣🤣 video is extremely healthy cos I got one of these pumps failed in using it now it's just sitting amongst the car repair pile 🤣🤣 but this video was entertaining and helpful 👌
Thank you so very much sir. It's all about the pinch at the end!!
Thank you! I got one from Harbor Freight and had No instructions.
My rubber ball has a directional arrow for the "flow" and the longer hose goes into the new container.
Thank ..Just bought one, waiting for it to arrive...Nice video...Plan to suck old motor oil from my car..Hope it will work

Thank I just put to much oil to avoid dry start but it’s not worth it

OH YEAH!!!!!
Been at it all night. Could not remember the elevation tid bit
Awesome, thanks. Being a college grad., I definitely didn’t feel right when I couldn’t get it to work the first time, haha.
The hell does being a college grad have to do with it
THIS tutorial was really needed ........thanks alot..........great job ....!!!!

Just picked one up myself from harbor freight. Thanks!

car gas tanks have a screen to prevent gas theft
@@DS_Silverfoxnot all cars do
Thank you for your video. I just bought that siphon kit to siphon some homemade wine. I would not have figured out how to use it. But now I do, thanks.
So , where did you purchase this little super syphon ?? And how many thousands did you have to pay out in bribes and payoffs ???
I never realized just how wrong I was doing it til I watched this vid lol
This is a primer pump with no one way valves in it. Yes, not all primer bulb pumps are the same.
Best video on UA-cam easy and clear than you!

I saw something like that on a documentary about pot farming in yellow stone mountains.
Check for air leaks
get a clamp so that the top hose sit at the bottom of the container
Thank you! I get it now!
28.04.17 - Bought one today to suck a litre from the auto transmission.
Specialized 29er Did it work?
Did it work? I need to do the same. No drain bolt on trans pan
I did the same also and it did work
Thank you!
Thank you buddy!!!
Not always it needs to be sitting higher. Have you seen the video of the Asian guy syphoning water out of a river?
I've got the exact same hose kit. I'll be using it tomorrow because a local "shady" mechanic allowed his young worker to send me on my way with at least 2.5 quarts too much oil in my 20 year old car. Seriously? 😠
Legend. Thank you!
That's my problem I can't get it down the line to the gas. I wrecked my van. It was full of gas and I don't want to waste it.
Liv! Damnit there's a screen blocking it to enter the tank
THANKS YOUR HELPFUL VIDEO!! THANKS AGAIN !
Thanks mate life saver
Cool song

Thanks Paul. I was getting frustrated.
Thank you so much!!
Actually the fucking GOAT, bastards don't bother to say clearly on the package that you just let go of it and it siphons on it's own
They are handy but for oil they suck.
Comments are not ok this time, this is absolutely NOT working for me still
So, I would have to raise the lawn mower higher in order for this to work. Oh boy.
Awesome😁
It would have been much more impressive if you had used ice instead of just plain water. Any yokel can do just plain water? Maybe next time use a bucket full of Covid-19.

Hey thanks other dad
Thanks! I see what i did wrong there. Hehe
Thank u so much haha
