looks good . I have a cabin not far from there and a few friends in Ellington . Labor Day weekend yea. say you need a Koozie for the cook pot. I have the material to you can make one. see ya
What type of hiking boots and socks did you use for this trip? We are avid hikers, living in the PA Wilds, putting in countless miles most weekends for years and just did a day hike on the OLP last Thursday. Thanks for making the effort to film while soaking up the beautiful forest and waterfalls.
Hello Daisy!!! I actually wore a pair high ankle Keens, I’ll find out the exact name of them for you! And a pair of Columbia hiking socks. But these boots were not ideal for my feet. I actually just got a pair of Obozs that I absolutely love and give my feet the proper arch support! They are fantastic! And I got the low ankle as well which really relieved the discomfort I typically have with my ankles during longer trips! Thanks for enjoying the video! Keep an eye out for others! 🥾🏕
I can't tell if that's a designated site, but just because others have obviously camped there before doesn't make it so. Please remember DCNR Rules: "All camping must be at least 200 feet from any stream or other open water source." I can tell you really love the outdoors and newbies will learn from you and follow your example, so please set a good example.
The Shelter at Doe Run is within 200 feet. There are campsites at Hog House Run, Rock Run, Doe Run, Buck Run, Long Run, Pleasant Stream (both sides) and Wallace Run, all within 200 feet from open water. DCNR has a tendency to dismantle the fire rings in sites they don't approve of. These sites have been there for 20 years. The one on Long Run used to be on an island until one of the two waterways was blocked. That put the site within 2000 feet of both waterways until the one was blocked. Bottom line, these places will be camped in until someone tells hikers not to or dismantles the fire rings.
