But there is still a lot to like about him, and he's younger and more likely to be part of our next premiership if we did have him rather than Langford. I love Langford, but we are looking to go backwards to go forwards now. Langford is going to be 29 at then end of next year, so he still has a few seasons to play, but the chances of those seasons being within the window we are looking to have a premiership in is unlikely. I forgot to mention he also knows Nate Caddy and Harley Reid, which adds another layer to bringing him over to the club.

Sam draper would have to be offered an absolute monster contract by adelaide to leave melbourne which would give us band 1. Also depends on what his partner wants to do. Youth is what will push us further now. Rowell definitely doesn't come to us but he is a really good player. My problem is if we get a mid next post season who do we move out the middle people keep saying Merrett just because hes a natural footballer and can probably play multiple spots. That's very unfair. The comp has improved so much and still getting better. In the first couple of years they couldn't kick further than 20 metres but now some of them can double that. Their hands are almost as quick as the guys and jeez they really do go in hard for the ball and tackles.
