Very true that having success at lower levels feeds success at higher level: In each of our last three Reserve grade premierships our senior team won premierships the following season: 1983 1992 1999 Seniors premierships 1984(&5) 1993 2000
Great update on the VFL program. Just wondering if you plan to do a video on sharing your thoughts re: AGM and Barham/Solomon elections? Personally I’m just glad Weston didn’t get up. I reckon it would have been utter chaos if he had. He didn’t have any solutions other than to say I’m mates with Sheedy and I won a premiership years ago so vote for me.
This is exactly my point. He didn’t offer any solutions during his Sen interview or provided any alternate platform for success other than to say we’re not feared/respected. If he’s going up for election and I’d like to at least get an understanding of what he would provide other than complaints all round.
What are your thoughts on our positioning next year? Let’s say, for the sake of it, that we play all our young guys. Let’s say that they do awesome and we end up finishing in the 8, maybe with a finals win under our belt. Very unlikely with a really young list but not impossible. It would reignite a bit of the flame in the supporters that has been dwindling over the past couple decades, but it would also mean we lose out on a really high end pick in the draft. Obviously that would be a miracle scenario to win finals with a team of primarily 20 year olds. Or would you rather those young guys bottom out and give us a top 4 pick, paired with the melbourne pick, plus whatever other picks we gather in trade or free agency compo? The fanbase is filled with people who would riot if that were to happen, even if it is the better outcome. I’d rather not play the middle of the table again if we could. Go hard or go home is my view of it.
I’d rather see the team try and win every game and play whatever side is best equipped to get that done. Not a fan of just playing young players to give them exposure, they have to earn their spot.
@@everythingessendon548fair enough. I do think winning is what we should be aiming for, as it needs to be ingrained more into our club culture. But I just wanna see us get a real high pick in hand and take it to the draft before tassie comes in. As it stands we still need a real elite level midfielder. A bontempelli, cripps or neale type. Zachy is a real hero of the club, and a bloody good player, but he isn’t up to that level. Koby bewick could be that kind of player, but we won’t be able to tell what he can do until after tassie has joined the comp. That’s why Harley Reid is so sought after, he is building to be that type of player. We also need a big bodied midfielder. Someone to tag those tom green, dangerfield, bontempelli and cripps types. And also break open contests. If you have nothing else lined up, maybe you should do your own ladder prediction list.
spot on mate...the Importance of a well performing VFL unit cannot be overstated.
Exactly right, we just haven't been competitive for years, looking forward to watching more VFL
Hopefully we are up near the top 8 next year
Really admire your commitment to the cause Felix...great stuff.
Thank you mate!
Merry Christmas Felix. Thanks for all your hard work.
Merry Christmas mate!

this is good to see mate, cheers.
Yep! Cheers
Combined with our AFL players trying to make the 1's, hopefully we get results. Good clubs perform well at all levels.

How do you know he had no other solutions? Inside knowedge?

I won’t put out a video, I’m not too knowledgeable on that side of the game, but I think common sense prevailed in the case of Weston.
