Want to make a full cup of Nespresso coffee? Here’s how I use my Nespresso Essenza Mini. I am not a fan of Lungo shots, they just feel overpriced and I feel that I can get similar results with regular espresso pods.
Option 1: Brew 2x espresso shots from a single pod - this can help you save $$ and reduce your wastage.
Option 2: Use 2x pods for an even more intense flavor
Tip: Try not to use cups larger than 250 ml for a hot cup of coffee or 300ml for iced because Nespresso coffee is best enjoyed in smaller size!

This is bad advice as each capsule is designed to be diluted with a certain amount of water and anything less or more would affect the final taste of the coffee. Too much water and it will become bitter and too little water it will be too strong. It’s important to remember that capsules have dilution recommendations for a reason. It’s not there to make you spend more money on coffee. There is a science involved in this and certain flavours are only noticed with the correct dilution. If you don’t want the intended taste of the capsule then by all means over dilute your coffee. A lungo is actually 110ml as a correction to your previous comment. If you want a bigger coffee you should use two espresso capsules at 40ml dilution. If you have lungo capsules then you can use the lungo button for 110ml. Alternatively purchase more affordable capsules. There is no point in purchasing a great coffee machine to make watered down coffee.

Thank you for sharing your coffee advice with us, I fully agree that people should always use manufacturers guidelines for getting the intended taste and experience. But this hack I shared is for those who are looking to make a bigger cup of coffee, and don’t mind it being slightly more diluted than an espresso. Taste wise, if you add milk and sugar you won’t be able to taste the coffee notes anyway. Sure, another option would be to buy Lungo capsules, but those taste too acidic (in my opinion)

Perhaps you can recommend us some compatible capsules (lungos) and I will try them!

If you brew the cup twice if will
Be diabolical in taste. Don’t do it 🤮

@@davidasingleton8943 it’s not that bad. If you expect to have 2 shots of concentrated “espresso” - you cannot brew it like this. An espresso is standard size 40 ml - but this post is about making a full cup of “coffee” (not espresso). So basically you can make a longer shot from any of these pods and it’s not “diabolical”.

Thanks! Sounds like you press it twice at the beginning instead of once and then again at the end of the first extraction?

One after another (at the end)
