Hey John, what a coincidence, I get an ecard from you both at Christmas and for reasons I will explain soon I decided to look at Forres and look who appeared in my search !! Fab footage and brings back a lot of memories, never got to cross Findhorn Bay at quite such a leisurely rate. I hope you're both well and I will reply to your ecard soon. Really good to see you again my friend. Will
@@johnluckwelldroneenthusiast. sadly no John, I had family based at Lossiemouth for a few years and used to descend on them for holidays, so I got to know that part of the Moray coast quite well.
I was there at NMSU with the BAE Sytems CWP supporting the MK2 maintenance activities. Used to stay at the Ramnee Hotel. Living in Canada now. Sad about Kinloss.
Thanks Nigel ... I'm glad you enjoyed the video and with it, good memories. What was your role at Kinloss? I was Avionics groundcrew and spent most of my time at Kinloss on NMSU (RAF Findhorn!) I was there 1978 - 1990
@@johnluckwelldroneenthusiast. I was a pilot on 201Sqn 1977-84 so our dates overlapped. Sorry, you probably had to keep fixing the stuff I broke! I left the RAF in 1990.
@@nigel9903 I wonder if you know my near neighbour in Mosstodloch, who is a retired Sqn.Ldr Nimrod pilot from (I think!) the OCU. His name is Rob Wigham.
@@johnluckwelldroneenthusiast. I was curious if you would be interested in contributing some drone footage for a film. We don't have funding so there's not much budget, but maybe we could work out some kind of trade or affordable fee.

Will, I have sent you an email! 😊
just beautiful, the colours and sand patterns are wonderful.. I feel inspired to get the paints out.
Joy, I'm glad you liked the video. Please get painting! 😊
Walked that beach a few times, the aerial shots give a new dimension to it
Craig, do you live in the area? 🙂

Just Great.
Thanks. Glad you liked it 😊
Beautiful. I worked briefly at Kinloss for BAE Systems and fell in love with the bay. Thank you for this video.
@len333p ... I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I too was at Kinloss between 1978 and 1990, mostly on NMSU. The whole area is beautiful.

Ah, I assume you would have know either Jack Smith or Bob Smyton 🤔
Yes, I knew Bob Smyton. Barry Mills, Chris Whittingham?
I only remember Bob Smyton (sadly no longer with us). He was our 1st Line corporal at Leuchars on Lightning's in the late 60s.
Thanks for the memories! 7 1/2 great years there (but far too long ago)! 24 Mar 1980 was the last time I flew XV244 (while it was still the MR1 spec).

@@johnluckwelldroneenthusiast. The name rings a bell but I can't be sure. Got a feeling he arrived just as I was leaving and on 120/206 not 201.
Stunning footage. Love it, my friend.
Really nice mate. Bitter sweet to see the Nimrod and Kinloss. Especially today. Cheers
Thanks Mal. I hope you and Margaret are well.
Awesome footage. The image at 1:08 is just stunning. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Alan and I'm glad you liked it. I feel privileged to live near here 😊
Lovely John
Thanks 'Desmond'! 😉
Braw video John.
Cheers Lyall. I do think it's a wee bit too long but it was from about 40 minutes of original video! 😅
I take it you had to gain permission to fly
Here?
No, permission not necessary, as I flew outwith the base boundary. Findhorn Bay is now not restricted, as it was when RAF Kinloss was active.
Hello Mr. Luckwell, is it possible to get in touch with you regarding a collaboration?
Hello ... what sort of 'collaboration' do you have in mind?

@@sebastianrooks6778 can you give me an email address, so that we can communicate more privately? Thanks.
