Hey everybody! If anybody wants to know when my new Design Club is launching, send me a Hi! at hello@lisaholt.com! (No crazy stuff, your email is safe with me!)
Im supposed to get my new house end of the month but is delayed cos of covid. Will be happy to get their advice once i hv the keys n the reno guys are back at work!
Hey! I have been sewing for 50 years🧵🪡 This sewing background taught me more than anyone can understand. In addition to sewing skills, I know a lot about design, color, texture, fibers, and weaves, and design and function. Taking all of this knowledge makes it easy to transition to doing interior design. I highly recommend people learn how to sew. I have made all of my lined luxury draperies in my home and I have saved thousands of dollars.
Lynne!!! That is amazing - what a skill!!!m👏🏻👏🏻 I had never thought about how sewing might translate to interior design work!! 💙 Thank you for filling me in...I don't know what I'd do without you guys setting me straight from time to time!! 😆💕 Thank you SO much for sharing your knowledge, and thank you for being a part of this channel!!! 🥰💜
Completely agree! I had a house with a 92” tall built in cabinet that was 28” wide. I got an expensive fabric from the goodwill of all places and made my own curtain. Pretty easy to do.
Love how well you explain everything! I previously heard you need a "warmer" light in the home and I FINALLY understand why! Your points are quick and straight to the point. Thank You!
Lighting for sewing is everything! Trying to work with tiny stitches or dark fabrics & dark threads needs very good lighting or it becomes frustrating quickly. Thanks for mentioning since many are learning to sew now. 💕
We are updating our new home, built in 99 and missing so many important features like lighting. Your videos have been incredibly helpful. You manage to include more useful information in less amount of time then other designers.

I found you yesterday and now I’m almost through binging all of your videos. Thanks for generously sharing your knowledge, my kind of person. Can you recommend where to shop online for lamp shades? Yay, I LUV my sewers! What would we do without you guys! No Window Treatments, no draped tables, no upholstery pillows cushions or even new facemasks!’s🙏🏻🥰 so glad you joined the channel, there’s lots more fun stuff coming!
Sorry I missed the note abt lampshades... I haven’t found someone online that does custom yet, but you might check with a local workroom who does Hite and Window Treatments… Often they will branch out and do specialty shaped lampshades as well. It’s a little tricky and I will put that on my list to see if I can find a good resource!
Lighting is so critical to function, comfort and tension levels of the occupants. This needs to be taken in consideration for homes, schools and work places. I spent money on dimmer switches in my home and the family has benefited by the calming effect. We even added amber bulbs for night time use that helps with melatonin for good sleep.
Okay, three reasons why you should follow Lisa! She is all of the following: informative, interesting, and relevant. Love you Lisa, sharing you with my friends!
WOW! Thank you so much for your amazing comment Kathy, I really appreciate it! I'm SO happy you are part of my channel!! Stay tuned for more fun videos!!🥳😍✨
As an independent light contractor that recently started my own business this was nothing new, but VERY refreshing. I could talk to someone about lighting for hours so i feel like we would get along 😍
@@technerdy so how does one decide the size of chandelier for a room? We recently moved and we are replacing the dining room chandelier. I absolutely love the crystal ones and have found several online but want to make sure the size is appropriate scale. My room is 13x15...
For a party or for our own enjoyment be sure to turn on the candles the torches and the nightscaping before daylight wanes. Set the music for the day. And like Lisa reminded me have your lighting level set with the lamp dimmers. Then, before there is any indication of sunset hit the Lutron wall switches that control the lamp outlets. Or better yet hit the master Lutron switch and the whole house goes into you can't leave we are just starting mode. Party planning 101. Oh, and don't serve the main course until everyone is just a little bit tipsy (appeteasers, pupus, etc. are OK. Lighting. Hey we grew eyes to see what earth looks like right. Right. Thanks Lisa this brought me out of a boredom trance. L G 😳😎😍
Your use and examples of the light panel to show how warm to cool lighting changes the 'color' of a wood floor was amazing! Same when showing lumins, kelvin, etc. It's one thingvto read or hear about how each affects color but to so easily visually SEE it was amazing.
I have a request. Could you actually give your recommendations for what bulbs (I know it's very general) would most likely be good in living room lamps and bedroom lamps? I never know what to buy. Thank you. I love your videos. They are very helpful.
omg! i had to stop right in the middle of your video and say...this is hands down the BEST lighting instruction out there! lighting is so difficult for diy decorators/designers. the light panel that you use to show us the difference in the light is super helpful. i have read so many articles and still did not understand....now i do. you explain things in a way that is so much easier to understand. i am forwarding this video to all of my friends!
Emily!!! I LOVE that - great design, and so cute!! 🥰💙 Who doesn't love a good dance party?? 😂🌟 Thank you so much for sharing your fabulous lighting solution, and thank you for watching! 🤩
TFS! I work in paint. I make people walk to the window or outside for a natural lighting. Especially with these grays that everybody is buying up! Your brilliant & amazing! 👍😁
Somehow the UA-cam gods brought me to your channel & I am SO extremely thankful! Now I’ve just got to figure out how to light my family room that has huge sets of French doors but never gets direct sunlight! Oh & the dreaded TV over the fireplace that the hubby REFUSES to move! 😳🤣

I like that you are more of the old-fashioned designers with lots of knowledge, not one of the hipster-designers with no degree but fancy new ideas that you are tired of very soon in your house. Your design is timeless, not ultra-modern.
There's are alot of content about the subject of lighting. I would love to see content specifically about table and floor lamps. What styles of lamps should we avoid. What styles should gravitate too. Love your content.
OMG I love this idea!!!🙌🏻 Lighting is such a broad topic - I'd love to do a deep dive into fabulous lamps for each design style!! 🤩 I'll totally put it on my list of future video topics!! 👍🏻 Thanks for this fantastic idea, and hope you're having a great week so far! 🥰🌟
Lumens and kelvins - I see 😮👍 I’m glad our go-to is the soft white in LEDs. According to your visual on 6:17, in this video, soft white is around the 3000’s 🤔🤓🙂
You’re exactly right! Soft white would be 3000 kelvins, anything lower and it starts to get really yellowish, into the candle light colors, which have their place, but not for general ambient lighting…🙌🏻😍😘
it took me about an hour to watch this 11 minute video, because I took notes on everything! thank you for this amazingly detailed video, it's a huge help
LOVE to hear it Lina!!!! 🤩 That's what I am here for - giving you guys the BEST design tips for you all!!! 🙌🏼 Thank you so much for supporting the channel and being involved, you have no idea what kind of feeling I have when you guys say you're taking notes!!! 🥰💕😘😘
This is such an extensive topic that I would rather see it given more depth in a series of videos. You say are not a lighting designer so perhaps you know one who would enjoy collaboration. What I found most valuable in this video was your demonstration of lighting on brick and wood.
I am planning on doing a deep dive interior design course into all aspects of design including lighting. It’s just that in the UA-cam format, unless you’re working on a specific issue you can get a little daunting to say the least. Make sure you’re on my email list for the design club at www.lisaholtdesign.com! Thanks for the comment :-)
Yes it's a deep dive, You'll want to join the club, which is where will be going into deep dives about all those details. Send your email to www.lisaholtdesign.com and you'll be in the loop!
Yay!! Thank you so much for your kind comments and thanks for joining my channel! Make sure you send me a Hi! at hello@lisaholt.com, and I’ll add you to my Design Club list we’re launching soon, where we’ll livestream Q&A’s, deep dive and give lots of pro tips all about design, you'll LUV it!
And this is why I love my Philips hue bulbs I have in all of my lamps. I can completely turn off the overhead lights if I want and use these at every point of the day. I can change the color, intensity, and even have them change all of that automatically to fit different times of the day.
As far as I know, 5500∆ - 6000∆ is so-called "daylight", that is the healthiest for eyes. I use it in my home for general lighting (as indirect light, which means that the lamp itself is invisible. You do not actually even think that there is light, you do not see the difference if you switch on the light during the daytime, with the light from the window and in your space) and I could not take anything else. The light affect also your moods. Bad lighting can cause depression. The light is not only a visual thing, but it is also a health-thing as well. Of course, in addition, there can be decorative lights (like candles :) ) and other things you mention. But, 3000K is too dark for me. But: I live in the North, in Germany. It is so dark here especially in winters that I need light. I come from Finland where it is even darker, and longer time of the year.
Yes, its true that ppl in northern climates need higher Kelvins than those of us in lower latitudes. Also, Eastern countries like Japan and China tend to like the cooler lights as well.
This one is so exciting for me! Lighting is everything and can set a whole vibe. Do you have any tips for low ceilings and what lamps to choose for them? I am in the process of re-doing all of my ceiling lights.
I would also be interested to see a video on that, thank you for what you do: straight to the point, a wealth of information, awesome ideas. I am so lucky to have found your channel
wow, I just happened upon you when searching for some paint info last week. You are so happy , I've gone out of my way to watch a couple of your videos every day, just because they are happy and straightforward and unaffected, and funny! And honestly, I don't even care much about decorating and design! Thanks, you're my go to happy quarantino video.
patrick i agrée!. Love Lisa energic-happy way of speaking and concise, relevant topics. She reminds me a ex-colleague, Claudine Spiltzfogel, à queen of communication, engaged, direct, funny ! But Lisa, if you could just slow just a little, very little bit the pace though. But I just love your videos!
This topic is big but important. Can you do a part 2 to show us how to design lightings in a apartment? At the end, you mention to have three ways of light source. Can u give us more examples? My living room and dining room are less than 200 sq feet in total, does this rule still apply?
Buy timers for your plug-in light fixtures, especially for the ambient light you need during nightfall. It spares you a lot of running about flipping a multitude of switches. When something does go bump in the night at least it won't be you.
Priya!! I just have the BEST community EVER!!! Always hyping me up and all 🥰 Thank you SO much for the sweet comment, and CONGRATS on the first home!!!! ❤️🥳🎉
I'm so glad you posted today! I moved to a new house right before the shutdown and I have an interior sunroom with no overhead lighting. So I have been wondering how best to light the space, as well as the foyer. Perfect timing!
Sure hope this video helped, and get any of your questions ready to submit for the upcoming live Q&A. Send in your email to www.lisaholtdesign.com to make sure your up to date on when those will happen!
thank you so much Lisa... you've inspired me to unpack all of my gear and get cracking on one of my favourite & one of the most important elements of design
Now I’m jazzed up about lighting! You have a great way of motivating me to make my space better. Thank you! Do all LED bulbs dim when using the plug in dimmers? I didn’t realize they could.
The newer ones do and as always the more expensive ones usually do a better job, but the bulbs today last year‘s and years so the technology is definitely getting better.🤣🙂💕
I would love a video on coordinating lighting so it looks cohesive. I have a 3 arm arc lamp which offers abundant light, but need other lighting sources in the room and I am not quite sure how to select something that coordinates well visually. Should table and floor lamps match? Should they contrast? Etc.
Woohoo! So glad I know I've helped!! Be sure to send me a Hi! at hello@lisaholt.com, and I’ll add you to my Design Club list we’re launching soon, where we’ll livestream Q&A’s, do deep dives, feature B&A’s and give lots of pro tips all about design, you’ll LUV it!
GLAD YOU SAID THAT YOU ARE NOT AGAINST TRACK LIGHTING. Had a contractor refuse to install track lighting in a studio room in my home saying they are "not done anymore." But so what?! I still like them. And now I know that you do, too.
OMG RIGHT?!?!? I have that argument regularly with contractors! To be sure, my clients always want it installed anyway, because they're the ones that will use the closet, not the contractors, who don't need to discern a deep navy blue from a black jacket on a daily basis! Thanks so much for watching and being a part of my channel, there’s lot more fun stuff coming!
LOL Abdo!! 🧡😆 It's tough NOT to play favorites (or least favorites) with lighting!!! 😂🌟At the end of the day, I always say go with whatever works for you!! But it definitely helps to know your options!! 💙🥰
I remember seeing a video involving Kelvin and Lumen levels. I have purchased lighting where you can decide color level and the brightness. I think I need to see that video. thank you!
Thank you! We are about to start a remodel and I'm starting to ponder lighting. We currently have sparse overhead lighting and we need to brighten things up. Good to know about the rule of 3.
I love the way you explain things. I would love a video on develping concepts, I am doing a diploma (in UK) and I feel Im lacking a lot of the artistic side if interiors. I would hands down pay for a course, your delivery is always concise, straighforward and unpretentious. Love it!
Denitsa!!! Awesome news - I'm starting a program JUST like what you're describing!! 🤩🙌🏻 The DezignClub will be all about you guys learning directly from me - we're going to have classes, 1 on 1 help, and tons more!!! 🥰💙 Definitely sign up at www.lisaholt.com/thedezignclub - it's launching this spring!!! 👏🏻💚

thank you Lisa this is very helpful! I love dimmable lights! I wish we could find more dimmable stylish lamps out there. 😊 its easier when you can just touch a lamp and change the light rather than using the separate dimmer you mentioned
I love this video! We are renovating our starter home, it's a MASSIVE fixer upper; built in 1920! O: But I watched this video before setting the KELVIN setting on my canless lights and thank goodness I did! I went with 3000 K so thanks Lisa!!
Sarah!!! SO glad you found my channel just in time!!! LOL!!! 🤣❤️ Happy to be helping you! If you’re still renovating your fixer upper, make sure to sign up for my DezignClub launching THIS September!!! 🤩 It will be PACKED with help for you for every project.. Plus, you get to hangout with me and ask me questions directly… how groovy is that!!! 😉👏🏼 Sign up here www.lisaholt.com/thedezignclub !!!! 💗✨🥰🥰
Will save to reference later. Our house suffers from lack of lighting. Open beam ceilings so very little overhead lighting and definitely not three sources! Thank you for the info.
Sure hope this video helped, and get any of your questions ready to submit for the upcoming live Q&A. Send in your email to www.lisaholtdesign.com to make sure your up to date on when those will happen!
I always recommend the LED strip lighting that has a three-way switch for three different kelvin levels so that your finishes under the counter work well with the rest of your kitchen being lit with ambient lighting. Thanks for watching! 🙂
An approximation of "4000K" (Philips) seems to be a good choice where lamps are to complement daylight, such as far from a window. I'm not sure how the tunable lamp works, but regular ones is cooler than the number would suggest, as it is basically two distinct colors emitted. I like to mix halogen and LED for better colors, so i'm limited to 2700k-2800k.
How do you pick the best decorative table lamp? If you have a transitional style living room for instance, do you go contemporary or traditional with the table lamp? Do you pick the color of your sofa (if its on a side table beside your sofa) or do you pick another color?
Hi Lisa, Exceptional video on lighting. Solid information which demystifies lighting. Thank you.....great instruction we can all use. Thank you, Gigi 🙂😊👀
Yay!!! LOVE the rule of three, it can make SUCH a difference in your space!! 🙌🏻 So glad I could help you out!!! 😁💕 Have a wonderful holiday season!! 💖🎄
If you can't change flourescent fixtures as it would mean a complete ceiling overhaul you can't afford (especially in older homes), you can choose full spectrum (sunshine) bulbs which give a nice colour. I've used that hack in several homes which had north facing kitchens to great effect. Flick a switch and you've got a bright, sunny day. Later whenever you wish you can turn off the sun and let task lighting or candles take over.
Yayy Kathleen!!! Thank you for this super sweet comment! 🥰🥰 I always hope you guys get a little education between all the fun and craziness!! 🤣 So glad to have you as part of the channel fam!! 😁 Hope you're having a FAB holiday season!! 💕☃️
All your videos are so so good!! Thank you! Would love one on figuring out the best layout for furniture. Struggling to create multiple entry points in a living room with a long wall on one side 🤔
Great request! I’ll add this to the list of videos to come! Why don’t you drop me a Hi at hello@lisaholt.com and that way i'll be able to answer your questions more easily.
Oh, so many to choose from! I love the lantern style, the clear glass schoolhouse oversized piece, I’ve done some custom ones out of Israel that were to die over,, and I also really like at the west elm ombre’d glass round fixture… I can go all over the map🤣
Leisha!!! If you join my DesignClub, launching this spring, you'll find an amazing style quiz to help you figure it out!! 🤗🤗🤗 Sign up at my website: www.lisaholt.com/thedesignclub!!!
Jackie!!! SO glad you have found this helpful!! 👏🏼💕 Lighting can be pretty tricky to pick out, but learning these fun tips will make lighting much easier to understand!!! 🥰 Thank you so much for this nice comment and for watching!! 🌟💖🤗
Patti!!! I am so happy you are loving this channel and digging the videos!! 🤩🌟 Thank you sooo much for all the support on the channel and for subscribing!! 😘🎉💙
Great video! Question......if kitchen white cabinets are painted in BM’s cloud white which is a warm white, do you use warm light bulbs or cool bulbs? Wouldn’t the warmer bulb make that white look more yellow? Would the cool bulb counter balance that effect?
Yes, excellent question! Try an experiment where you use a 2700 Kelvin and a 3000 Kelvin in the fixtures, and see what it does to the colors of the paint on the cabinets with the other finishes...only then decide on the camping you'll want.
Lisa I’ve fallen IN LOVE with your channel!!! Where in CA are you located? I love that you teach all the basic rules of design, but arent stuffy about it and encourage expressing yourself! Lighting is such a tricky one & I’ve ended up with some challenges but the rule of 3 applies so well here for sure. I recently just switched out some of my wall switches to dimmers and also using wifi tech to connect the majority of my lights via Alexa. It’s soooo nice to have timed lighting around the house as well as voice commands if you come in the door with full hands. It’s soooo inexpensive these days to control so much in the home via tech & automation. Wonder if you’d consider doing a “home design tech” type video too? Thanks for the wonderful & entertaining content😻
OMG Theresa!!! HUGE welcome to the channel fam - I'm so glad you found us!!! 🥳 I'm based out of Newport Beach...can't complain about sunny SoCal!!! 🌴☀️ Anyway, I LOVE this video suggestion - smart homes really are becoming more and more popular!! 👏🏻 I'll totally put it on my list! 📝 Getting these suggestions from you guys is SO helpful - thank you so much for the idea!!! 💙😘
@@LisaHoltDesign Thanks for the sweet reply & I LOVE your energy! It’s half the reason I keep watching🔥 I love Newport! I’m originally from Long Beach but moved to Dad’s side of the family and mostly grew up in NOLA. Lived all over the country, but just had to make my way to the west coast (best coast😉) again in the past 5 years. Was in Long Beach again taking care of G’ma & Mom, and sadly they’ve both passed now, so I sold the family home & came up to beautiful Oregon. Believe it or not, there are many things I still miss about beautiful SoCal. Once you love it, I don’t ever think it changes, not even the traffic kills that love🤣💞Feel the same about New Orleans....wow you’d have some amazing properties to work on in that city!!!! My Dad was a contractor so I was lucky enough to go to some of his truly memorable projects on some of the Civil War era homes in the Garden District. An old adage, but true that they really don’t make homes like that anymore! Old homes are my favorite! I’ve literally never wanted to build from scratch. I love the character of an old home. The older, the better! Well, there’s my novella, so yeah😹💝🤡
I'm redoing a small bathroom. I have one small window in tub area that is basically obscured by a shower curtain. I'm hanging pendant lights from ceiling above vanity that would be considered task lighting however I don't have any ambient lighting (except window). I'm thinking of one or 2 pot lights however it seems like over kill given the size of the bathroom.

This is one to analyse over several times . I need this lesson.
Yes it's a deep dive, You'll want to join the club, which is where will be going into deep dives about all those details. Send your email to www.lisaholtdesign.com and you'll be in the loop!
I've just discovered your videos. I love your energy, the great examples show and all the info we get in short videos. What a find!
So true! Thanks so much for watching and being a part of my channel, there’s lot more fun stuff coming!
I’m so glad I found you! You are amazing. I’m binging your videos with a bottle of wine. 🍷
Yay!!! Thank you Chase!!!! Keep on watching and drinking:D
I'm a fan of light bulbs I really enjoyed your light bulb videos Lisa !!
This one is so exciting for me! Lighting is everything and can set a whole vibe. Do you have any tips for low ceilings and what lamps to choose for them? I am in the process of re-doing all of my ceiling lights.
Great question! Why don’t you drop me a Hi at hello@lisaholt.com and that way i'll be able to answer your questions more easily.
And Nina, you can send me come pics I can get more info as well....
@@LisaHoltDesign just sent them. Thanks a million.
Lol!!! Love your comment! Makes me happy 😃
patrick i agrée!.
Excellent !!! Lighting marries many senses. Tx Lisa. !!
Yes it does! The right lighting to make all of the difference… Especially at night. Glad you liked it and thanks for watching🙂
This topic is big but important. Can you do a part 2 to show us how to design lightings in a apartment? At the end, you mention to have three ways of light source. Can u give us more examples? My living room and dining room are less than 200 sq feet in total, does this rule still apply?
Great suggestion!!! I am definitely going to add this to my list...🤗🤗 Thank you for commenting and letting me know what you need!!!
Buy timers for your plug-in light fixtures, especially for the ambient light you need during nightfall. It spares you a lot of running about flipping a multitude of switches. When something does go bump in the night at least it won't be you.
Great suggestion!
By far the best designer to follow! Thank you so much! Such good tips for a first time home buyer!
Priya!! I just have the BEST community EVER!!! Always hyping me up and all 🥰 Thank you SO much for the sweet comment, and CONGRATS on the first home!!!! ❤️🥳🎉
Thank you for demo-ing the kelvin light system, Lisa! That was so confusing to me before. Love you and your videos! 😊❤
WhooHoo! So glad to know I’ve helped! It’s so much fun answering peoples’ questions!
the dimmer for lamps tip is soo helpful, thank you!!!
Hi Habibi! Thanks so much for being a part of the channel, and aren’t those dimmers great! And inexpensive!🎉🥰
WHO SEWS?!?! Aww come on' Lisa! Sewing is an awesome hobby!
Sorry! I know... my mother was amazing at it! 🙂
Oh my goodness, so much involved with lighting. I rather take a calculus course than deal with lighting. Great video!
😆😆😆 Thanks for watching!
I would love a video on coordinating lighting so it looks cohesive. I have a 3 arm arc lamp which offers abundant light, but need other lighting sources in the room and I am not quite sure how to select something that coordinates well visually. Should table and floor lamps match? Should they contrast? Etc.
You UA-cam segments have helped me so much
Going to buy plug in dimmers! Thanks for that tip!
Please continue to grow this channel I love your teaching style !
Yay! Thanks so much for your kind comments, and thanks for joining my channel!
i'm sewing as i'm watching your video!
🧵🧵🧵😍😍
came across your videos today and already watched several. Love your vivacious energy!
Thank you.
I will definitely get a fluorescent as you really love it !
LOL Abdo!! 🧡😆 It's tough NOT to play favorites (or least favorites) with lighting!!! 😂🌟At the end of the day, I always say go with whatever works for you!! But it definitely helps to know your options!! 💙🥰
@@LisaHoltDesign Haha. But for real, the video was really helpful.
Keep up the hard work Lisa !👏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️
19 year old boy trying to spice up his room; put in some more light fixtures with Phillips Hue bulbs. The difference is dramatic, thanks Lisa.
Love this explanation and those dimmers you can buy for table lamps! Such a great idea!
Yay!! So glad you like it! Thanks so much for joining my channel!
Glad this helps, and we’d always love to see the before/after shots at hello@lisaholt.com!
I love the way you explain things. I would love a video on develping concepts, I am doing a diploma (in UK) and I feel Im lacking a lot of the artistic side if interiors. I would hands down pay for a course, your delivery is always concise, straighforward and unpretentious. Love it!

Great comment! So glad you brought that up!
Can you talk about kitchen trends you like and all aspects of making a good kitchen? Countertops, cabinets, etc?

Currently sewing while watching 😆
Cayla!!! I'm all about multitasking - I love this! 💙 Teach me!! 😂💖
thank you Lisa this is very helpful! I love dimmable lights! I wish we could find more dimmable stylish lamps out there. 😊 its easier when you can just touch a lamp and change the light rather than using the separate dimmer you mentioned
So true! Thanks so much for watching and being a part of my channel, there’s lot more fun stuff coming!
Excellent! Excellent! So much useful information and your examples are great! I took a lot of of notes!
I love this video! We are renovating our starter home, it's a MASSIVE fixer upper; built in 1920! O: But I watched this video before setting the KELVIN setting on my canless lights and thank goodness I did! I went with 3000 K so thanks Lisa!!

I sew - quilting - and we definitely use task lighting!
Hi Amanda! Yes most definitely!!
What type of lighting do you like for under cabinet over white quartzite? LED? Or? Thanks!
I always recommend the LED strip lighting that has a three-way switch for three different kelvin levels so that your finishes under the counter work well with the rest of your kitchen being lit with ambient lighting. Thanks for watching! 🙂
@@LisaHoltDesign Thank you! Again, love your your work! Telling everyone about your channel!
I am obsessed with my Phillips Hue lightbulbs. You can dim and turn on/off directly from an app on your phone!
They are so awesome!
Thanks so much for your kind comments, and thanks for joining my channel!
Look out for a new video today at 1:00 pm PST!
Lisa, I just found your page and I’m in love. Lol thanks so much for the helpful information.
Awwww of course!!!! So glad to have you!! 🥰😍🥰😍
How do you pick the best decorative table lamp? If you have a transitional style living room for instance, do you go contemporary or traditional with the table lamp? Do you pick the color of your sofa (if its on a side table beside your sofa) or do you pick another color?
I can answer questions and help over at my site in my site... dezignspace.com
Great coverage on the many important aspects of lighting. Well done!
Lisa - this was fantastic! You hit all the important pieces without dragging it out. Do you like Visual Comfort & Co.?
Very cool. I've only noticed these small things but it was so helpful to have these items spelled out.
Very illuminating, thank you so much for the tips. 😎
Hi Lisa, Exceptional video on lighting. Solid information which demystifies lighting. Thank you.....great instruction we can all use. Thank you, Gigi 🙂😊👀
Yay! Glad I know I've helped! Thanks so much for watching!
I’ve never understood lighting, thank you so much for that insight!
Happy to help!
Super useful. Good knowledge saring and succinct rule of 3. I might actually remember and apply!
Yay!!! LOVE the rule of three, it can make SUCH a difference in your space!! 🙌🏻 So glad I could help you out!!! 😁💕 Have a wonderful holiday season!! 💖🎄
Very helpful to begin to think about lighting for my lounge. Thank you.
So educational!! Love you and your videos- stumbled on your videos 3 days ago and I have been addicted ever since!!
Yayy Kathleen!!! Thank you for this super sweet comment! 🥰🥰 I always hope you guys get a little education between all the fun and craziness!! 🤣 So glad to have you as part of the channel fam!! 😁 Hope you're having a FAB holiday season!! 💕☃️

Hi Lisa - what’s your favorite ceiling light fixture for a kitchen? Love your videos!
Oh, so many to choose from! I love the lantern style, the clear glass schoolhouse oversized piece, I’ve done some custom ones out of Israel that were to die over,, and I also really like at the west elm ombre’d glass round fixture… I can go all over the map🤣
Very thoughtfully presented.
What a sweet comment Sanjay!! Thank you so much for watching and supporting the channel!! 😍👏🏼

I'm so impressed with your videos. They are well organized and incredibly informative. Really helpful!
ohhhhh im surprised you only have 20k subscribers! THIS CHANNEL IS AMAZING! and you teach so well!
OMG, thanks for the kind words! Help me spread the word and share me! ;)
No add them but add a dimmer you’ll thank me!
