Ring Doorbell Video Shows Suspect Pointing Gun at Couple After Following Them Home

- The Wheat Ridge Police Department in Colorado released Ring doorbell footage showing two suspects approaching a couple and one pointing a gun at them as they enter their home. The couple was apparently followed by the suspects during an evening walk. When the suspects followed the couple to their home, they quickly slammed the door as one suspect pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it at the couple. Authorities say the suspects robbed a different person minutes after this incident.

I completely disagree. Putting people down for crimes solves absolutely nothing, it has been proven many times over in history across all societies. We have fields of study that look into this stuff as of sociology and criminology. The problem is our government don’t want to make those changes, they want to keep the status quo.

She's laughing because she knows that caught or not, _she_ will suffer zero consequences. Some well-timed waterworks and a claim that she was "forced" into it and she'll get off scot-free, and might even garner sympathy for her "unfortunate" choice. It can't be considered "attempted murder" because nothing has been attempted until the trigger has been pulled. It is very much a crime to point a gun at someone, but it's treated as making a death threat, because that's what it is. Firing it is making an actual attempt.

I don’t know if this is completely sound advice, but someone in law enforcement I knew had a strategy to employ for a situation similar to this if it’s in your car. I’ve never had the misfortune of this scenario, but I hope this may help someone one day-
If you have a suspicion someone is following you in your car, keep your doors locked and make 3 or 4 right or left turns at intersections or turn points to discern if they have determined you are their target. Despite your instincts and desperation for safety, you should NEVER return home or drive through your residential area if you are certain you are being followed. Keep calm and stay on busy or public roads, not quiet neighborhoods or roads with little traffic. Lead them to a police station parking lot, or call the police with navigation details on updates where you are traveling. Even if it’s all a misunderstanding, the police will sort the issue out upon intercepting the person following you, and you’ll be safe from that point on.

This is just common sense. I’ve had to do this twice while walking my dog. The problem is most people don’t have the situational awareness to realize they’re being followed in the first place.
@@ejicon3099 My best recommendation would be to make a desperate run through property to elude them. Like, going into someone’s backyard if you’re in a neighborhood, or going into a business if you’re in an urban area. Try getting other individuals to help you out by calling the police if you see someone else, or just do it yourself if you can find a safe place.

The only way situations like this will end, is when decent people start protecting and standing up for themselves. Get whatever you have to and learn it, practice it and use it to protect yourself and family and those that cannot protect themselves.

Before the pandemic I used to walk my neighborhood late at night. We are in a different world now. Post pandemic, people can’t even walk in their neighborhood in broad daylight without crazy people following them home?? It’s beyond sad.

I was with my parents yesterday July 20 helping them at their work from a 20 minute drive and on our way home we were being followed and my dad was the only one who noticed, he then parked in a warehouse where people were working at and took pictures of his plates and he speed fast to a freeway you have to stay aware of your surroundings. Im not lying

Home invasion is possibly more than burglary nowadays. In my city, multiple cases haven had the invaders take over the identity of the former homeowner(s). In one case, a pair took over the home for over six months. They kept using the ATM card for which they got the PIN code from the deceased victim. The bank account didn't run out of money because they had funds sent to it from the deceased victim's 401K account to which they had access. In a different case, invaders took over an elderly couple's home for roughly two weeks. They killed the husband but the wife remained alive at the end of the ordeal. The invaders lived there and made use of the couple's bank accounts and cards.
I’d love to see them get wrecked by someone who’s armed and ready to fight. When he girl laughed that really got my blood boiling and the brazen attempt by the dude thinking he got this under control. They are in for a serious awakening when it goes wrong some day. Hopefully very soon.

Things are scarier these days, everywhere, from small towns to suburbs to cities. Someone creepily knocked on our door twice late at night. You just don’t know who to trust. If I was being followed though I certainly wouldn’t go home. Glad the couple got inside. Hope these arrogant criminals are arrested and jailed.
