What’s your take on mixing the colors on the canvas itself?
That's a good question. I tend to mix on the palette, although I can't bring to mind a time when I would consciously mix on the painting itself. I'm sure it does happen. The problem is that you might risk creating muddy colours if you overwork the paint or you drag in other colours from around the part where you're working.
