convincing performance? this is an incredible rendition of my favorite song ever. the rhcp play every single californication song differently live, ur not getting a solo close to the album solo, and anthony always adds in other words. and no, they didn't miss anything here. i have this rare dvd and it's fantastic. anthony's voice gets tired by this part since it's usually played as the 12-15th song in concerts. sorry, ur comments just made me want to educate you!

@mpdp85 Speak for yourself. The drums, vocals and lyrics are just as much a part of rhcp as the guitar and bass. It all comes together beautifully, and that's the magic that everyone can appreciate.
@mpdp85 I still don't think you get it. I can talk about Fru's pentatonic soloing or Chad's ghost notes or Flea's hammer-ons and pull-offs, but that doesn't get to the heart of the music. It's interesting to study, but perfectionism does not translate to a greater appreciation. Who's to say a painter appreciates Van Gogh more than me, just because he is a painter. @mpdp85 As a musician, I think it's a little pretentious to think that non-musicians can't fully appreciate rhcp. There are probably some non-musicians that appreciate rhcp more than either of us will. It's not about understanding technical aspects, it's about feeling the music. Anyone can do that.

Chad's drums sound so overly compressed it's not even funny. But it's a great version of Californication. Probably the best I've ever heard live.
