The long skinny rod goes thru the Bellows tool and secures the tool to the Bell Housing. I'll be making an update to this video soon to show how the tool works.
Thank you for going through each tool you used and how useful it was. I working on my Alpha 1 out drive and will be getting more tools to make my life easier.
I'm going to make an update to this misspoke on which Bellow the red tool was for, it's for the exhaust bellow. also I'll list the tool names and prices, thanks
Just a fantastic point by point video. Thank You! Many people have cautioned me about buying an inboard outboard and I can see why. It is a Swiss watch on the end of a prehistoric combustion machine. If you don't get everything just right; the best is the boat don't go..The alternative is... it don't go AND it sinks.
Good Video! Suggestion on removing bearing from the removal tool…add metal hose clamp to tool close to bearing and tighten.. bearing will fall right off!!
@@sterndrives3290 I learned something today ...so I grew up tearing things apart , sometimes stuff I probably shouldn't have but I did haha I liked to know how things work....anyways I read somewhere that the interrupt will not work on dry land and that seems to be true . It boggles my mind it makes absolutely no sense to me how a load on the engine can cause that cable to make the interrupt work in the water but it does
Dude.. The shift rod is allways stuck bro.. U need to take Chizzel and a hammer put Chizzel in the crack om the TOP there and give a good smack! Then the arm will Split, cuz its mold alu... Very Nice video.
You are a life saver!!!! I fought the bellow ring for 2 days before I found your video! It worked first try like a charm with the plumber red tool 😊
Thanks dude I'm a first timer and this will help me.
Good luck, easier with the correct tools
This is the ONLY video I could find, that shows the proper use of the bellows tool. I wasn't sure what the long skinny rod was for.
Thank you!

What size is the plumbing cap for the bellow ring
4 inch but you will have to shave a little bit off so it will fit into the Bell housing
Hey you ever have a shift cable not moving the interrupt switch at All ?
Check your shift cable it could be bad.

can you point to a source for the orange plastic shift arm alignment tool
Mecruiser part number 865232, thanks
The red tool is a 4 inch mechanical test plug
Thank you! I was trying to figure that out so I can buy it.
@@jasonvega5797 I suggest you spray powertune on the bellows. The plug did not work for me
It goes right in with powertune. Ten bucks
