    I was rooting for the Murano. Although it is predominately a front wheel drive vehicle, its system kicked in even on compacted snow which is a slippery as ice allowing it to accomplish its mission.

    My MO is a very capable vehicle in every condition but what you folks have to remember is that it's the driver behind the wheel that makes the vehicle work.
    B/w I am the author of this vid, and would put the MO's up to any Subaru

    Turn off traction control, and turn on the four wheel lock mode! This will make all 4 wheels work in a locked mode. Also, it is best to have the low temperature rated off road mud-snow tires. I use these tires in the severe Canadian winters with great success with a Murano AWD having the lock mode option.

    Good video. I work in oil fields which get very miserable when it rains or snows/melts, so I need to get a 4x4/awd vehicle.I've been interested in the Murano, and this video made me more confident (I'm sure you would have made it with winter tires easily). I love my new TSX, but the Murano seems to be a vehicle that will be nice enough to drive so I don't go into TSX withdrawal on the job.

    There is a reason why you have AWD lock on your Murano. Learn to to use it! Also when you are on an icy surface and have the AWD lock enabled your best to put the Murano in "L" gear so the wheels doing spin. Anyone with skid control experience would say the same. :)

      I own a 2006. It is excellent in snow. The automatic all wheel drive works well, and in serious situations, you can lock it in permanent 4WD mode (must stay under 20 mph or it disengages). I drove it in harsh central PA winters. It did great.

    The wheels should never stop spinning, only slow down and speed up, with practice, you can feel when to get the best grip to move along.

  • @solomonshv
    @solomonshv 11 років тому

    Murano is good car because it offers a lot of nice features for little money. like heated steering wheel, heated seats, usb port for media playback, etc.
    i have a 2012 Murano SL AWD. i like it but i do have some issues with it. one HUGE problem with the Murano is that the headlights are extremely weak. very hard to see the road at night.
    another issue (with the newer models) is side mirror visibility. the cars awkward shape makes things to your side hard to see.
    aside from that, great car

    • @cowsongs
      @cowsongs Рік тому

      Your headlights are probably fogged up because UV light breaks down the coating on those plastic polycarbonate lenses, and it kills the brightness. I periodically polish mine off and put some clear UV coating on them. It only lasts a year or so before I have to do it again, but it only takes about 20 minutes and beats spending $$$ for all new headlight assemblies. They are blindingly bright when they are clear and unfogged.

    ohh ive driven a subaru their awd system is great because the engine is vertically mounted. Btw i drive a audi a4 with quattro awd. But on any car that offers awd and u see the engine is horizontally mounted u kno the awd system is gonna be shit because the rwd only kicks in when the front wheels lose grip and sometimes it dosent work. Plus what most people dont understand is that there is a torque split between the wheels that make all the difference.
