the ural is a cheaply made bmw 2nd world war copy ;; also known as dnieper - named after the river in east europe , the ural is named after the ural mountains , - which are like the alps or rockies , these bikes were made in ussr communist factories and they had to find names to tag on their export bikes ;; the 'cossack name was also used ;;
Sounds good! Looks Great!
There’s a guy in my neighborhood that has an ural. He rides with his dog in the sidecar. It’s awesome to see go by.
Cool, I have seen guys doing that before!
On a Ural a lever can be pulled gi ing power to sidecar
I owned a Ural for 3 years. I put I put about 16,000 miles on it during that time period and as long as you ride them within their design parameters, they are a good machine. Mine was a 2WD model and I haven’t smiled that much behind a pair of handlebars since I was a teenager.
I stopped by my local dealer about an hour ago and he verified that he actually has a Highway King ordered with the sidecar.
I like the look I would buy one. But..... I think I will not be able to find one hopefully it will continue to be an option.
That's a beautiful bike!
I think that's a awesome idea.
I like it and will be interested if they come out with it :-)
99 Road King with H-D sidecar, 120k plus miles on it, 400 mile trip last week. Gas mileage horrendous for a bike. Also have H-D P.A.S., Livewire, Sportsters and other brands. 70% sidecar, 20% Livewire and about 10% rest of the bikes in order of riding. As enjoyable as any bike, just a different enjoyment.
Cool!
Missy, my 10 year old German shepherd would love to ride in a side car
Pass on the Icon and a side car. HD needs to roll out the RK!
They have!
Sidecar would be cool 😎
Sidecar are awesome
Champion sells their sidecars starting about $6600. I'm sure it'll cost another couple thousand for options and color matched.
You have to see the bike in person.
Highway King is just beautiful. We bought the Hi-Fi Orange and will soon be getting the Hi-Fi Magenta for my wife. We also have the Revival.
I am buying the magenta for myself, like it better than the orange, that's subjective, but your right, it's impressive in person.. wait til you see that purple red version... ride safe ..
Sidecar is cool, but I was really hoping the news was they were bringing the standard Road King back.
Sorry no luck!
I think it would be a great idea if they do it as an option to order.
The dealers had to order months ago but I have had a few dealers in my area reach out to let me know they will have them. Hopefully you find one reasonably in your area
I want one the day I start to question my ability to keep my street glide up
I’m an old man, have an old dog, sidecars appeal to me. I’d love to check one out.
Wish Harley would bring back the FL Springer
They sold off all there Springer manufacturing materials. If they did it would have to be a limited edition.
@@RidingintheOzarks Well, it's not like HD makes their own suspension or braking components for the bikes they currently build. Limited edition bikes are their highest margin (overpriced) units.
Crazy thing about a sidecar is that what even you git as a gas mileage is cut in half. So if you git 40mpg you'll git 20mpg????????All someone can do is call Champaign and try to order the colour match sidecar.
Hey Man Mountain Mike, I like the idea of a bike with a side car as an alternative to a trike. Also good to hear your dad is still got his knees in the breeze. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there. I agree 100% with your comments about HD thinking outside the box on this.
@ HDMC, looks like you have some new people in marketing & design, coming up with some really cool ideas. I think you could do worse than to also listen to Ol’ Mike here about design ideas. I’m really impressed with some of the ideas he has for the future of HD design.
@ Man Mountain Mike, I really appreciate your honesty in your vids. If you don’t know something about a subject, you have the balls to say you don’t. Too many “influencers” on social media pretend to be something they are not and pretend to know about something they have no clue about. You are straight shooter and we can can see that in the content you produce here. Thanks again Bro. for the work and research you put in on UA-cam.
That’s all I have for y’all today. I’m out and tell your mom how much you appreciate all she did for ya growing up and of course, that you love her.
Hope you had a great weekend and appreciate the support, Funny story I stopped by a dealership recently that know me and the channel and one off the sales guys called me Man Mountain Mike LOL
@@RidingintheOzarks Man, word must be getting out. I can see it now in neon lights..."Riding in the Ozarks With Man Mountain Mike."
$27,000 …???
I got quoted a price Thursday of $33,000! 😤
Check the MSRP but I’m pretty sure it’s 27k
@@RidingintheOzarks it is!
They will sell every single icon quickly.. side car offering is cool .. not for me but if someone wants it then do it ...
Well.. I'll share my thoughts and what led to my decision on purchasing.. the Electra Glide Highway King has the 6 gallon tank vice 5 gallon on a road king, it has the 114 the king never got, the paint scheme is an upgrade, cool painted and oversized windshield too, HD also outfitted it with all the safety technology as well. All the touring bikes ride on the same frame, So it's not really that different from the others is it? We can argue all day... they are each just a variation of one another.. It's a lot prettier than all the other that's for damn sure, and yes it is expensive, but then aren't most Harleys? Love to hear the negative price comments from guys that paid nearly $30k or more after financing interest is counted in for their glides, keep in mind a road king was $20k when they stopped selling them and with all these changes it would probably run you up to that price point or higher that their selling these at.. I used to have a road king classic and miss it dearly, cannot get a new one, so this was right up my alley, regarding this bike, not many will have one .. but I will, laid down my deposit on the magenta..... will see if I keep that snazzy windshield on it or not, it looks so damn good, I say ride what you like it's your money, be safe, see you out there ... all the best..
Cool concept
Thanks!!
2 wheel drive Ural
I like the idea of a sidecar and I would love to have one but knowing Harley they'll probably tack on more than $10,000 to the MSRP of the bike for it, plus shipping, plus additional dealer markup, plus installation, and probably charge you additional for the "installation hardware", plus blah blah blah...so nevermind.
Depends on the dealer but possibly!
Man that’s a really sad statement but unfortunately, I think you are spot on with your comments. Under JZ, it’s all about the high end customer. Six pack Joes can just go pound sand and buy a rice burner.
@@cornbread8246 I started off with Japanese bikes so it wouldn't be the end of the world if I eventually had to go back to them. It would just be really disappointing if that's what it came down to.
Yup ur right. I had a dealer tell me it’ll b 15,000 to 16,000 extra for the side car for the new road kings. Insane!
They made the same mistake with the highway king as they did with the revival - made it a poor choice for anyone under 6ft tall. Bike sits way too high.
I am 5-10 and you are correct. We have revival #411 and Highway King #168. The Highway King has 16” wheels and is a joy to ride!
Fiesta problem with Harley they want to make 20 units and pricing through ceiling so they can make enough profits for at least a year. I don't think there going to last too long. They're really pushing it
I'll see you in Milwaukee!
I hope so!
Very cool inside info….
And everything is being tested under plain sight.
When Brad Richards was considering the 68 EG as the next Icon model, he rode one for a CW interview at the time of release of the EG Revival.
There are pictures (and I’ve seen it…. Just can’t remember where - I think it was in his IG), of an EG Revival with sidecar and it was plainly stated that it was an one-off prototype.
I don’t have IG anymore but I bet you can find the picture I’m talking about
Thanks for the info! I will look into it!
I saw that too and remember thinking we'd see another sidecar in the future!
Yeah it was done with the revival bike, it looks sick.
If it's true, perhaps it's a matter of the two companies having not hashed the details in the business contract yet as to why nothing has been said about it.
I am very interested in a sidecar set-up as at 70 it is harder for me to have my wife on the back.
Simon Gilbert . Do you own a Ural ? You don't know what you're talking about. Ural is not a cheaply made motorcycle. Yes, the early ones were. They were a copy of the 1941 BMW R-71 flatheads. The Dnieper's were not the best, but the Urals on the road now are top quality. I am on my 2nd one right now, a 2018 Gear Up my 1st one was a 2005 Tourist model. I can take it everywhere. It is reliable, easy to maintain, cheap to operate. I have been to Florida and Kentucky back and forth several times. They are not a highway bike. They will do 70 miles an hour but they operate best on secondary roads. I also own a 1996 road king, a 1949 panhead, a 1968 and 1975 sportster. The bike I ride the most? The Ural.
Bring back the side car I would love to see more on the road
A color matched sidecar that Harley Davidson farms out to some third party outfit and sells for (I'm gonna guess) ~ $40k. That's news? That's innovation? Screams Posers to me. The same non-Bikers who are laying down $50k for a mobility tricycle with "custom" colors. I've been riding my entire overly long life. There isn't a single H-D model that I'd take for free except perhaps the breakout much less pay $7k over MSRP for. Harley has become the brand for wannabes who have more money than brains. It's rare to see anyone on a bagger anymore who is actually living the lifestyle.
What secret?

I think the side car is dumb and i dont see this catching on. Not sure your sources are accurate
They are. I just can’t disclose them or HD could go after them due to NDA possibly. Since Saturday I have had 3 people confirm dealers were given the option and some did order them… I think sidecar is a cooler option then a Three wheeler but each to his own.
this is stupid, if they want to be around for another 100 years, they need to start appeal to younger riders not the geriatrics
Most younger riders won’t or can’t afford new Harleys, younger riders eventually become older riders. I have watched many men become Harley Riders as they aged. I don’t disagree that having something that appeals to younger people is important but that’s what the rev max bikes are for…
We have the money.
Hd has offered a sidecar frame (everything but the body) for the current gen touring bikes for a couple of years now. I think it's only available for LEO's and the like though. I have a 2008 sidecar rig and a 16 trike. I can tel that a trike is easier to ride. The sidecar rig has much more a cool factor. file:///C:/Users/Joe/Downloads/Police_Side_Car.pdf
